Yum and Dominos are both having SERIOUS problems with their Chinese outlets. Apple and Nike are declaring their Chinese sales as Strong. The reason CNBC, is that you can't STORE prepared food in a warehouse like you can cellphones and shoes. Wake up CNBC, Apple and Nike executives are looking at distributor sales to China in Palo Alto or Seatttle, not to the Chinese consumers. Please CNBC, stop being so gullible, do you have any reporters in China, can you confirm sales of these products to the consumers themselves? Is journalistic laziness your mantra?
Wouldn't surprise me if some Chinese Apple distributors were state-owned and placed HUGE orders because they knew those sales numbers would make a huge splash in the media. Don't let the inscrutable Chinese, #$%$ over.
The Chinese have the saddest tendency to over-order. I can see Apple IPhones stored right next to those epic stockpiles of CAT equipment and copper wire that China is sitting on. And Tim just sits there looking at spreadsheets and proclaims China strong. And that's no outright lie, but if you don't know the sales figures to Chinese consumers themselves, aren't you just yapping in the dark. There were some software scandals where sales were booked as such when they left the company's warehouse, and they pumped the sales this way. Little did the investing community realize that the software was just moving to a different warehouse. Of course those were the days when software shipped in boxes. Now the Chinese may be able to mothball those Ghost Cities of theirs for a few years, but cellphones go obsolete pretty darn quickly.
They KNOW that YUM disappointed today because of problems in China. They then proceed to exclaim how Tim Cook says China is going strong. Well let me tell you something. Apple IS NOT selling IPhones directly to Chinese consumers, they use distributors. Now if the Chinese distributors stack 25K IPhone 6S's in a warehouse in some Chinese province whose name I can't pronounce, Tim counts those phones as SOLD. Well, if that's how Tim wants to look at it that way, I suppose you can too. But if YUM can't sell KFC to the Chinese, I don't see those IPhones leaving that warehouse anytime soon.
When you started the post with Insanity.....I thought you might be quoting Ron Insana of CNBC....get it? Insana-ty? Eh eh?
The poor audience never heard of this clown before somebody at CNBC dug him up. They propped him up like he was the Wizard of Oil, he said $30.00 here we come, and UP oil went. What a goofball, and we have to thank CNBC for presenting him to us. I am not sure where they find these people, but if Gartman says Long Gold in Yen terms one more time, I am going to hurl my shoe at the TV screen.
...and the Final Jeopardy answer IS: Not at this time..too bad for Neothetics and their Tummy Buster product.
Bayer and the Bankers are mulling it over......
Timmy's can make a donut splash in the lower 48 and KKD is their Passport to success....trigger should be pulled pretty darn soon....eh?
They just love to panic their viewership. Meanwhile the Wall Street professionals gobble down the cheap shares that CNBC helps provide....ridiculous
i remember my days at Nokia.....there was ZERO innovation at that company. It was all about keeping the Frozen Fins of the North satisfied...nothing more. And that'll be Apple's problem, Cook is a pretty stoic guy, he ain't no Steve Jobs. The next firm to pick up the cellular baton is an unknown Angel-funding venture that nobody knows about yet. Apple to 73 by this time next year.
As ridiculous as Penguins in San Diego sounds, it doesn't stop the San Diego Zoo from having huge numbers of them AND they plan on getting more to stock their new MegaPenguin Encounter. There are so many TV programs on the Penguins I find zero value in having them caged in an exhibit. They don't relate to human beings AT ALL. At least the Orca's interact with their talking monkey trainers to a large degree. But nobody cares because it's the Zoo, run by some non-profit organization with the stated purpose of educating children in being cruel to animals.
Just keep pumping oil and ordering airplanes....a few generations from now, they'll read about the stupid Middle East conflicts and laugh.
