Look for Obama to put the squeeze on High Pharmacy prices as he looks to shore up his unfavorable Obamacare opinion among the populace ahead of the upcoming elections to bolster Dummycrat support. And yes it will happen and yes it will be effective - politically. Look for Gild to drop about $10.00 soon.

How can a CEO let a stock daily being kicked to the curb. 1. KL is not that smart or he would not have let the Cisco trial end without giving the jury real evidence of Cisco's infringement. That was beyond dumb. The stock has been a short favorite ever since then. What has he done to get the money from the Apple trial victory - nothing successful. 2. What alignments has he made - with Microsoft or Samsung to deal with fighting Apple ?

    Sentiment: Hold

  • VHC could be next, I sure would not want to be short VHC when this happens - Samsung could really put the screws to Apple with a deal.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

  • Market up firmly till BIG EARS offers his new Student Loan give away program - sure he will get more popular offering new programs to spend taxpayer money - He is great at it increasing the Federal Debt to past 16 trillion dollars, why not spend more if it helps his popularity - after all its not his money.

How did you come to the conclusion that the offshore oil is more expensive than on shore - the USA is still importing oil - you need to do more research - why do you think there are so many offshore rigs being built ?

Hindsight 20 20 / with market going up up you want to sell ? Look its a matter of time till $40.00 + with oil going up, so do not worry about interim changes - market due for correction but still going higher afterwards - count on it.

Wow - did I nail it - OBAMA announcing new appointments looking for any and all moves to gain votes for upcoming elections - he will do anything to get votes and he doesn't care who it hurts - look for GILD to take a hit just as BANKS have with constant huge fines the new pinata to hit will be expensive drugs - drug companies.

No, they are not needed, HP needs to be much leaner - the company does not exist to employ people that are no longer necessary in today's marketplace. Competition from the world will be even fiercer as time goes on.

I still feel the same - given time - who knows how long - that given the Apple victory and a huge if if that victory is not overturned that I will eventually make money on VHC. My problem is that I had previously thought that KL was a shrewd business man who knows how to monitor the day to day events and how to make the art of the deal - he has failed on both counts - He has to make a deal to fight a Goliath like Microsoft, Cisco, and Apple - he did make a deal a long time ago with Microsoft and needs a partner like Samsung to leverage with in fighting Apple - it does not take Einsteins brain to figure that one out.

A bad day for FRO - now having a market cap of only 220 million - JF needs to seriously consider merging FRO into SFL as it is already on the hook for FRO anyway and could sell off the remaining bad assets and begin the operation of creating the next generation tanker line - presumeably also including LNG into the mix. Sure I know this may be considered competition to GLNG - but JF has Golden Ocean and VLCCF ( now drybulk ) so I do not see that as a problem.

Iraq problems making oil price go up and brent price is up - so oil companies will have more incentive to do deals on more favorable driller rates - look for SDRL to move over $40.00 a share before July ends - summer driving increased demand.

No way will apple sign first with VHC, that bridge or opportunity has long past and too much bad blood - KL has already been lied to about apple having work arounds etc. if a deal was going to happen it would have happened long ago - Samsung is the one that KL needs to reach out to and negotiate a deal to screw apple.

I bought SFL today when it was up 11 cents figuring it would ride SDRL's coattails when it was up over $1.20 a share and then as luck would have it SDRL swoons to only up 20 cents and SFL goes negative 20 cents all on a day the market is riding high. So is SFL a buy here ?

    Thoughts about FRO

    by rogers2308 Jun 3, 2014 12:18 PM

SFL only gets profit sharing when there is profits, and SFL does have the liability of the assets they have relative to FRO. At this point SFL is in a better position to manage its assets than FRO is. To me this is a win win for both putting SFL in control who has the financial backing to move forward and / or liquidate as necessary.

Shorts and longs spiking their directional way at the close - generally harder to get your way shorting side if their is volume involved in the long side. Shorts generally more successful than longs over time as there is not sustained long pressure and overall market weakness can be exploited.

And you can trust what this WH says - good luck with that one - they talk out of both sides of their mouth telling both sides what they want to hear - who knows what is real with these incompetents in charge.

Your right, actually earned less than a nickel a share excluding the one time settlement, the $16,300 average earnings rate per day versus an estimated break even rate on the new units of $15,000 per day means until rates rebound the dividend is not sustainable. The current dividend is being financed by the one time settlement. My take from reading their "future outlook" is not to buy the shippers, but to buy what China is buying - IRON which is up 20% - my take is buy VALE a large iron ore producer in Brazil. Almost forgot - the March 2014 figure of VLCCF in the merger mentioned of $10.00 means the current $11.00 plus share price may be too high. I would recommend waiting and buying into VLCCF post dividend at probably below $10.00 a share.

So do you consider SFL a buy currently or a sell being that its up over 20% YTD ? The $19 -$20 level seems to be a wall that it goes down at from my experience.

Yes, different type, but it will be a big factor as the new builds are and will be primarily the ultra deepwater ( which is by far more expensive ) and if these oncoming units come into a glut market as you suggest then there will be cancellations and more importantly delayed buys so that rates are still very profitable. There will not be new buys, if rates are weak and unprofitable, you also have to realize there is a lengthy lead time from buy to completion.
