Don't forget they have to pay for the stock and will have less cash on hand. In the meanwhile the company currently is operating at near maximum capacity. They have to keep some funds available for capital expenditures if they want to grow. The dividend will bring in new funds that can only buy dividend paying stocks, and cost less than a buyback. It also might bring back some representation of the pension funds we lost because of Newtown.
It doesn't. People aren't thinking. I think a dividend would be better to draw more investors & @^%&# some shorts.
Why the buyback now? The company has the earnings base to support the number of shares outstanding. Better to either keep the money for a rainy day. Better yet institute a dividend, and draw in more investors interested in that kind of component & make the shorts pay the dividend due to the holder.
Starbauch probably can't get clearance to buy a gun so he takes it out on the stock.
Caesarstone gets high marks in the latest Consumers. Nice to see.
This is what can happen when no specialist is present. Why the exchange is letting these trades stand is beyond comprehension.
Chart wise looks like typical stair step b.s. Goes up several days small and gets a thump. Frustrating stuff. I'd rather watch paint dry or grass grow unfortunately.
Weak, lame & dumb.
Maybe this company can finally make some headway.
Absolutely. Nice to see someone recognizing values out there. At 5.5 EBITDA SWHC worth around $10.50. Hopefully valuations improve.
No mention except for working capital adjustments. Here's the story:

Interesting announcement this morning finally someone sees some value in a gun manufacturer and ATK steps up to the plate. Their buying it for 5.5 times EBITDA.
Might I ask why do you care? Are you short? At some point that b.s. stops. Someone who values the investment merits will step up and be involved again. I hear that's how markets work.
Unfortunately the 2 million share buyback went just to cover options. I've never cared for options for anyone in any company. My thought is If your fortunate enough to be in such a position you can buy the stock just like any other investor and you have the advantage of knowing whats going on. That way there's no dilution and their money is on the line just like investors. I vote no on every proxy when it comes to options.
I wonder how they expect to outfit law enforcement & the military? Are they going to train criminals or adversaries to "sit" on command?
May 8 (Reuters) - A second New York City pension fund has sold its holdings in firearms manufacturers, following a similar decision by the city's teachers retirement system in response to last year's school shootings in Connecticut, the city's top financial officer said on Tuesday.
The $45.7 billion New York City Employees' Retirement System divested its $16.3 million holdings in Alliant Techsystems Inc(ATK) , Olin Corp(OLN), Sturm Ruger & Co(RGR), Smith & Wesson Holding Corp(SWHC) and Forjas Taurus SA.
"Our city's employees do not want their pension dollars supporting companies whose products tear apart families and shatter communities," Comptroller John Liu said in a statement.

The analysts have had their tails between their legs and not really commenting. In the meanwhile the likes of Cabela's, DKS, & Big Five Sports are at or near highs on sales of guns.
Any thoughts out there that the loss of Jack3D with DMAA had any impact on sales?
They'll get my shares by prying them from my cold dead hands!
For RGR's sake best thing is he got to see his competitors books for free. Hopefully it was the same for SWHC.
For a 4k share bet your worried about 2 freaking cents? Are you kidding?
