What the potential law suit is about

The stock isn’t moving--- just like I thought when you have a potential law suit overhanging the stock.
Look at it from the shorters point of view. You got over 25 million shares short and the stock looks like it is taking off. What do you do? One way to stop the move up is to get a lawyer to investigate if a potential class action law suit exists. The stock halts it’s fast up move and it gives the shorters time to get out of the shorts. The law firm cost is practically nothing compared to millions you save. Finally nothing is found but in the meantime you have covered your shorts. This all my thoughts and opinion of why the law firm was hired. I’ve been down this path many times before in many stocks and only had one legitimate lawsuit take place (And got peanuts for my investment.)

    Oh I forgot
During these trial balloon law suits the stock gets hurt while investors wait for the outcome.
Is it possible the shorts were starting to get burned and got a lawyer to intervene?

  • This is lost in an earlier post. But please don't cooperate with the law firm

    My comments
This is a fishing expedition in hopes that the firm can find someone or something that they can bring a class action suit against Gern. Notice they are asking for help. If they are successful the lawyers have hit the jackpot with a settlement. Because they get the big piece of the payout. In my years where I have been included in a class action suit, I never got more than $50. Don’t fall for it. Geron would have a large legal fees to defend itself, you will get next to nothing and the Smiths will make a bundle

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

Will major articles push Gern up today

could be up strong but I doubt a 52 wk high

  • Two articles this weekend. The Motlley Fool article on J&J where it mentioned J& could turn Geron's imetelstat into a myelofibrosis superstar.

The second article was a opening page article on Yahoo financial Friday at the market close. This article mentioned that Gern was way undervalued ..

Plus you throw in Zacks article a week or so ago and you have a tremendous amount of great advertising for a small company.

You would think these articles should develop some buying today

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

  • At about 5 pm yesterday Friday, the Yahoo finance board featured a piece on GERN and it’s under value and great potential. I mean this was the top of the Yahoo finance page in big letters. Just then my computer crashed and today I can’t find it. Anyone who tooled into Yahoo Finance yesterday aft would have been hit with that article. Small stocks rarely get that major media coverage

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

  • As I said yesterday 4 is going to take a good push to get through.
Then that hold on Gern is probably spooking some investors yet today. It is going to take a very good announcement for many investors to jump back in our stock. Yes if we knew, we would have been far far ahead with AST. I also think we would have been up there with AST if it hadn’t been on that FDA hold.

4 as a round number would normally be considered an overhead resistance in this case. Odds say Gern will pause at 4 before it pushes thru it. However it is at 4.04 I’m surprised it has that much power. If it continues upward it must be some shorts that are a little nervous.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

  • Market Has Not Yet Noticed Potential in Geron (GERN)

By Zacks Equity Research April 7, 2015

“This Medical-Biomedical/Generic stock has actually seen estimates rise over the past month for the current fiscal year by about 93.0%. But that is not yet reflected in its price, as the stock lost 1.3% over the same time frame.”

  • I get tired to read INCY will go out of business. I have been long INCY for years and now have a very large holding in Gern. No question in my mind that INCY will lose the MF business in a couple of years probably to GERN. But they have a tremendous pipeline. A Rheumatoid Arthritis pill with Lily will take up the slack plus a lot more. And another thing. INCY has joined with a half dozen Pharmaceuticals like Merke etc to combine Jakafi with their products. This with the hopes that combined products will produce an even better product. I dare say you will find Gern will do the same thing in hopes of building up a pipeline of new products and to increase revenues besides J&J .

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

  • Mutated viruses injected into severe cancer patients have led to 4 complete remissions.
There's a new breakthrough in the fight against skin cancer. Scientists in Utah believe they may be onto a cure for melanoma.
Researchers at the Huntsman Cancer Institute say the new treatment teaches the body to heal itself.
A mutated cold and herpes virus is injected directly into the melanoma tumor. As cells fight the virus, they also learn to fight and stop the cancer.
Researchers say nearly 60% of patients who are receiving this treatment are experiencing dramatic results. And many of the patients are now cancer–free.

The giant health insurer UnitedHealth Group (UNH, Weiss Ratings: A) said it would buy pharmacy benefits group Catamaran Corp. (CTRX, Weiss Ratings: B) for almost $13 billion. The deal is designed to help UNH rein in the rising cost of drugs by bulking up its OptumRX unit. The division negotiates pricing with pharmaceutical providers.
Meanwhile, the Irish-based company Horizon Pharma (HZNP, Weiss Ratings: D) announced plans to buyHyperion Therapeutics (HPTX, Weiss Ratings: C-) of California for $1.1 billion. The deal will add Hyperion’s blood toxicity drugs to Horizon’s suite of products.
I’ve been following the markets for a long time, and these kinds of deals tend to whip investors into a frenzy searching for the next batch of takeover targets in the same industries. What’s interesting this time is that semiconductor stocks were in the process of breaking down technically when the Intel news hit. Biotech stocks also got hit hard in recent days.
Just look at a chart of the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index (SOX). Or the iShares Nasdaq Biotechnology ETF (IBB). You’ll see they’ve been getting hammered recently on heavy volume, but that they both caught a late-week bounce

Geron Their pill will actually put MF cancer in remission. Mayo Clinic calls it a miracle pill. Johnson and Johnson just put up 1 billion to back gern. Gern pill will take over the MF market. I've made a fortune in INCY and are now putting some of those funds in GERN.

  • For the 4 years wth Incyte, there would always be at least once or twice a year when the stock was pummeled for no reason. Especially when all the tests were going very well.
Now as I’ve been a Gern heavy holder the same stock bashing occurs. You can’t explain it. J&J comes in, money comes in, and all tests are moving smoothly along. However, I do notice that many biotechs are being bullied including my Incyte stock. But sooner or later as always, things turn around and the stocks advance to new highs because the fundamentals are sound.
If you are looking for a big buy out now, I think you are dreaming. Odds are it will be a long way out.

  • Hedge Funds winning the war
I keep reading that the shorting hedge funds are going to be creamed. But what
I see is the hedge fund shorters are winning the war.
We will probably be worked over until we become profitable.
