Hoopty, you and I are only miles apart, I'm just inside the beltway and 8 minutes from D.C.
Maybe I can change your perspective on our area since I'm part of the "no one" you mention. Don't get me wrong, I have plenty of issues with human kind and the rat race here, but life is good and there are an abundance of beautiful people here, along with the other end of the spectrum, and everything between.
(3) Is it anticipated that any significant change in results of operations from the corresponding period for
the last fiscal year will be reflected by the earnings statements to be included in the subject report or portion thereof?
Yes x No _
Under what circumstances do you check yes to this question, like the current filing states?
Excellent point Mitch. If LLEN posts earnings, they look in line with expectations (minus any costs due to investigations), and we see the rest of the board members stay on, I would have to say LLEN is in the clear.
I notice that children love to say, write, and talk about bodily functions, and that the postings around here often contain the word "fart" which prompted me to look up the occurrences over time using the message board search.....I thought others would enjoy this tid-bit.
All postings on this MB - 155 occurrences
postings in the last year - 147 occurrences
postings in the last 6-months - 145 occurrences
postings in the 3-months - 125 occurrences
So you can see, there has been an exponential increase in farting around here in the past 3-months, with only a handful of stale farts over 6-months old. The good news is that these have not been the SBD variety of farts.
QCOR has been good to me, but I got in after CITRON created a nice buying opportunity last May, sound like you got in after the more recent one.
I see from your posts you've done a valuation for QCOR, and you've lambasted short sighted day traders for not seeing the long term value of a company, so I have to assume you feel that HCI is overvalued today, or you have a short position that will profit from a drop in price.
If you were to analyze the value of HCI similarly to your QCOR post what number do you come up with?
Here are my numbers based on DCF:
2014 Growth: +10% (5-year average has been over 20%
Next 5 years expected growth: +10%
Discount Rate: 12%
Intrinsic value: $62 ($90 if they keep the 20% growth rate)
Fed you called the freight train that is named VIPS back then. I can't believe it's more than doubled in that short time...still too much risk for me on the current valuation. I will be one of the would have could have should have stories for me.
I wonder if Unemon1 ever tracked down the person that stole his "work in progress" research back then causing a dip in share price (an probably saved his put options from expiring worthless at the time).
There is always worse. I'd take no news over bad news any day.
Anyone follow CCCL?
An American investment banker was at the pier of a small coastal Mexican village when a small boat with just one fisherman docked.
Inside the small boat were several large yellow fin tuna.
The American complimented the Mexican on the catch and asked, "How long does it take to catch them?"
The Mexican replied: "Only a little while".
The American then asked why didn't he stay out longer and catch more fish?
The Mexican said he had enough to support his family's immediate needs.
The American then asked, "But what do you do with the rest of your time?"
The Mexican replied, "I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, take siesta with my wife, Maria, stroll into the village each evening where I sip wine and play guitar with my amigos, I have a full and busy life."
The American scoffed, "I am a Harvard MBA and could help you. You should spend more time fishing and with the proceeds, buy a bigger boat with the proceeds from the bigger boat you could buy several boats, eventually you would have a fleet of fishing boats. Instead of selling your catch to a middleman you would sell directly to the processor, eventually opening your own cannery. You would control the product, processing and distribution. You would need to leave this small coastal fishing village, move to Mexico City, then LA and eventually NYC where you will run your expanding enterprise."
The Mexican fisherman asked, "But, how long will this all take?"
To which the American replied, "15-20 years."
"But what then?"
The American laughed and said that's the best part. "When the time is right you would announce an IPO and sell your company stock to the
public and become very rich, you would make millions."
"Millions.. Then what?"
The American said, "Then you would retire. Move to a small coastal fishing village where you would sleep late, fish a little, play with your kids, take siesta with your wife, stroll to the village in the evenings where you could sip wine and play your guitar with your amigos
I'm going to assume that L&L provided a beefed up version of the Nov. 14th rebuttal to Geoinvesting to the NAZ sometime after Nov. 19th. I going to assume that the information was reviewed, but due to holidays, something that might have taken 2-4 weeks stretched out till Jan 6th for a follow up by the NAZ.
The meeting was to review the documents together as well as raise questions/concerns the NAZ identified in their preliminary review of the response. A couple of follow up actions on the 6th were requested of L&L by NAZ, which may have included a forensic audit to help NAZ make a final decision.
The forensic investigation (or limited forensic audit) was initiated on or around Jan 14th with the PR announcement following the NAZ visit. I assume the audit will take several weeks, will be digested by L&L's SIC, then be transmitted to NAZ, and NAZ will render a decision on the T12.
I do not see trading until March/April if my speculations are in the ball park.
I've been ignoring the forum for the most part, so I may have missed anyone with their own speculations on the event, but it's difficult to go back through the postings given that every 5 minutes someone posts junk.
I saw a bunch of fox fur coats at a really good price on the streets of Skippack.
I think you need to subtract out the 10.89 special dividend payable to those of record today (probably needed to buy 2 days ago).
and a 10.89 dividend payable to shareholders of record today?
Don't shorts pay dividends on borrowed shares?
speaking of china stocks...BORN. The chart and story reminds me a little of LLEN. Anyone here following the stock, invested in it, or have any comment on the "value" of this investment?
P/B, P/S all well below 1. DCF valuation w/o $9/share in tangible assets puts this at $10/share but it's trading at $1-2 until recently.
Looking back, I see in 2010 there were short pieces published on BORN. Are concerns of fraud and misrepresentation still the issue with this stock or is it something else i'm missing?
