Tiger's back at #1 again in the standings but it's not carrying over to the game sales. His legacy will no longer be what it is. With the first 10 week sales down 41% over last year http://stock.ly/8ieajw it's time for EA to consider ditching him to make it cheaper to make the game.
Taco Bell's taking the price advantage strategy against Chipotle, but the drought's going to make it hard on menu prices. I don't see the Cantina menu thriving if food prices continue to increase. Taco Bell can not pass through the costs like Chipotle can http://davianletter.com/blog/2012/8/14/no-soy-joy-corny-title-scary-commodity-prices
Let's be real, Taco Bell's new Cantina menu is not even close to the quality of Chipotle but the advantage Yum is trying to push is the price advantage. The problem with Taco Bell is that they can't raise prices too much without hurting sales, while Chipotle customers are a lot less likely to leave because their burrito cost a few more quarters. http://davianletter.com/blog/2012/8/14/no-soy-joy-corny-title-scary-commodity-prices
if Monster can be liable for someone overdosing on caffeine, can you start blaming alcohol companies for alcohol related accidents? This case goes no where. http://davianletter.com/blog/2012/8/10/mnst-attorney-general-inquiry
Battlefield 3 unit sales are at 13,709,041. It might be able to catch Call of Duty's World at War by the end of the year. http://stock.ly/7kw0k3
JPM's derivative trading is too wild, things aren't going to improve much over time and we'll experience more financial disasters in the future. The party must go on. Here's a comedic story about it http://stock.ly/3gy0mr
Way more upside than downside going into earnings with 20% short interest, 89% utilisation, 22 days to cover, high cost to borrow. Upside is spike to $40's? Downside is the $29's?

I don't see a lot of people buying games at BBY anymore though. Plus, BBY is focused on developing their used game business model but let's be honest. It's not going to be able to compete with Gamestop. Gamestop has a very good trade-in system.
This could be because the game is a lot better than the previous version, but it appears WWE is extremely popular right now. Went Christmas shopping and noticed the WWE section was busy. TV ratings have been good as well for WWE lately. I think the 4% dividend is secure. Netflix has a lot of WWE content which could help bring new people to the brand. Who knows, maybe there's a dividend increase in the future?
Here are the game sales: http://stock.ly/0q2nhv
Amazing isn't it? The game is having amazing sells, yet the stock is down so much. The CEO of this company should never have allowed such an outrageous guidance. uDraw was suppose to have poor sales this holiday season because everyone knows WiiU will replace the need for it. The PS3 Move is a big fail with casual gamers. No one buys the PS3 for casual games!!!!! Maybe the X360 uDraw sales will pick up considering the popularity of Kinect this holiday season, but they're not going to be supporting it with quality games. Whoever did the research for uDraw's guidance and allowed it to roll should be fired!! The market has no faith in management right now. Saints Row could be selling 10 million copies and this company would still be in the pennys. Someone should needs to be held accountable for that guidance!!!
Done venting, here are the game sales comparing WWE'12 and WWE'11 http://stock.ly/0q2nhv
not sure if the $3's will hold after earnings though. Saw a report that showed stores weren't carrying Majesco's new releases until late November, especially Hulk and the other kinect games. The guy that wrote the reports said a lot of shipments weren't made until November. Q4 wont be that good because most of the shipments were made in Q1. I held through the last 2 earnings and am extremely worried about holding into Q4/FY. But they will give guidance so that changes things. Are these sales a disappointment? Or are they worthy of a good guidance for the next FY?
Zumba 2 is only 33% of sales. But last I checked, Zumba 1 is currently outselling Zumba 2 this holiday, so Zumba could possibly make up over 60% of overall sales.
Kinect suppose to be the big gift of xmas, so the kinect games should have legs. hard to say if they're on target. Cooking Mama 4 sales are decent. Extremely disappointed with Hulk Hogan sales. It's not showing any sales for Spy Kids, which makes me wonder if that game was canceled.
Here's a chart of the sales since Dec 17. http://stock.ly/6xfkqa
Looked at these numbers, saying that they'll get between .50 to .70 eps with the new guidance. Saying the new guidance is the actual revenues we'll get considering all shipments have been made, what do you guys think?
Q1 results wont come out until February/March, could miss in Q4 based on the shipments being pushed to November. After previous quarters results, it doesn't seem like it matters whether they beat or miss.
strong concern that Zumba 2 doesn't do as well, Just Dance 3 will be getting all the prime shelf real estate. Fact that Majesco doesn't have their new releases on store shelves yet, even though the games are out is a strong concern.
Walmart and Target don't have Hulk being sold in stores. Also other games are not being released until November? Does this mean these games will count for Q1 and not Q4?
If you dont believe me check both Target and Walmart websites
