Lets see in the last hour how the triple witching goes. I would suspect people will cover their bets on OIL an GAS. Both seem to be clawing backs from the lows. Tremendous buying op.
When people see the pipeline it will start moving this stock allot higher. Its been years since an approved drug for NKTR. Could pull in buyer. PFE knows NKTR well, AZN too. Merck could use this pipeline. We will get takeover PPS starting to speculate. I've been through many where the drug is turned down or forced to go through more trials. NKTR proved it can deliver on a Billion dollar drug.
After being short WTI and Brent for a very long time Gartman announced today on CNBC he is going long WTI. Still short Brent. It may be hard to remember. Some 15 years or so ago WTI was a premium to Brent. Why? Value of the Dollar. As interest rates rise so will WTI and Natural Gas made in America. Gartman thinks it won't be long before WTI is again a premium to Brent. Go ERF..
The Federal reserve knows full well if they do anything to imply an early interest rate hike it will cause the market to sell off and kill Christmas. It will be easier to handle early next year. With escalation of sanctions on Russia they will need to do something to stem the lower priced oil currently. They could attack if they feel boxed into a corner. Tons of other unrest. Potential cold winter, severe weather etc. all puts a floor under the price of oil
I am beginning to think it is allot of speculation about higher interest rates and the effect of a strengthening dollar but I heard that debunked on CNBC this morning. I can understand how that would work with Saudi Arabia and when we import oil. But what about oil that is all ready here in the US. Or Natural Gas for that matter which is very limited to date in export. Shouldn't a strengthening dollar increase the value of USA crude and Gas? Canadian producers should benefit from this right? Tell me what I am missing/
to keep Ukraine takeover going. Look forward to higher prices coming back soon.
We are going to start showing up on MM boards. Someone knows something.
Market bottom for this stock. What say you technical traders?
It looks like according to Bloomberg wti ended the day at $96.07. That's what it showed all day on the CnBC ticker. Then while watching Fast money this afternoon wti showed up .59 cents to 93.47. what am I suppose to be looking at here
LIke triple or more. Heating oil supplies low going into fall. No builds in gas so I expect further high refinery usage from hear on out with Kansas back on line. I am starting to wonder about this glut everyone is trying to sell.
I like having the energy stocks I own out of harms way. No hurricanes to worry about or Mideast unrest etc.
If something happens ERF will be the first to go higher. Plus nice dividend. The capacity numbers out today seem to tell a story. Gas supplies continue to fall as refiners re equip for winter. With the economy improving it will only be a matter of time before this gets back on track to a higher price. Plus with ERF's expanding production it makes up for lower prices right now with more oil to sell.
absolutely agree it would be a perfect acquisition for Google. It would recreate you tube and as you say kill Netflix.
To me it should be good news. Oil was high most of the quarter and nat gas didn't start drizziling off until late July. ERF is pumping a lot more oil than in the past and output numbers have been rising. I don't know how this current year is hedged but in the past it was $96. Most believe we might shake out down to $95 but beyond that oil should rise again. My feelings you have a lot of explosive things going on all over the mid east and if IRAQ has the water cut off to Bagdad and Russia invades Ukraine all of these and more mean higher prices. Spiking higher prices at a moments notice. That's why I'm not afraid of a rising dollar which could lower oil prices. Interest rates will stay low for several more years. The economy is far from being off its training wheels. Now throw in an errant hurracaine it could be $130 per barrel easy and fast. Pricing like that would have ERF over $30. So I expect good news
