...with the earnings report, I think it looks pretty darn good...big bump in cash to almost $2 a share...debt eliminated entirely...increasing revenues and earnings...book about 10-11 dollars a share -- although about half of that is goodwill...all in all the company looks very promising for a long term investment...

...AVEO is just another "copycat" biotech...whenever one company manages to move an "ib" or "ab" or other drug past the FDA, then here they come like so many roaches touting their own "this-ib" and "that-ab" etc, etc...
...the company has a big wad of cash for sure but will burn through it within 4-5 quarters and then what?...
...and look at the salaries, benefits, bonuses, and perks management is paying itself -- geez, how do they even look themselves in the mirror in the morning?...
...not to mention, look up the history of the clown currently leading the company -- "Tuan Ha-Ngoc" -- who founded and ran a company called "DeNovis" before coming to AVEO:
"DeNovis software once attempted to change the medical-claims world but ended up shutting down instead. It raised $125 million in venture capital and had 110 employees. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough, and this promising solution simply didn’t have the cash to hang on until the software could be launched."
...even ignoring that, the guy has ZERO experience taking drugs through the FDA approval process...

...I said yesterday you could expect a stream of meaningless press releases to start anytime now since HPTX would want to stem the bloodletting!...and voila!...this morning they kindly oblige with ONE press release announcing they're acquiring rights to buphenyl and ammonul and ANOTHER press release saying that they acquired "orphan drug exclusivity" for ravicti!...
...well, considering they anticipate having only five HUNDRED patients REGARDLESS of whether they're selling ravicti or buphenyl, you have to wonder exacly how much value there is in having "orphan drug exclusivity" -- right?...
...an then again, if ravicti is all so special why does HPTX want to acquire rights to its competitors buphenyl and ammonul?...why pay MILLIONS of dollars to acquire rights to drugs when YOUR drug is allegedly so superior?....

...and ditto for the FACT that it was Brenda Sandburg of Elsevier Business Intelligence who pointed out that based on current numbers, revenues for HPTX will likely not exceed 30 million dollars?...
...and ditto for the FACT that Rhonda Greenapple, founder and CEO of Reimbursement Intelligence, said, "If they can show patients on their drug are more adherent and have better health outcomes, it’s worth the money. In order to be really successful they would need data behind it." -- the problem being that so far HPTX has absolutely ZERO data to support any claim of superiority which is why the FDA FORCES HPTX to include a disclaimer on the drug insert saying that ravicti is ONLY "non-inferior" to competing products?...
...and ditto for the FACT that dose adjustment of ravicti is based results of a test for levels of urinary phenylacetylglutamine which the FDA will likely FORCE HPTX to file a 510k application which will take time and money to complete?...

...I saw $20.15 cross the tape!...I guess at least someone's getting nervous!...next thing you know you'll see the beginning of the stream of meaningless press releases -- just like OMER's been doing -- to try and prop the price up...fortunately, the street -- as demonstrated by OMER's miserable failure -- has wised up to such nonsense...
...now the question is where will HPTX find support -- 20, 15, 10, 5, or maybe even lower!...
...and when you consider the customer base:

...wow!...just think!...your company depends upon all of five HUNDRED customers -- most of whom depend on MEDICAID to pay for their therapy!...now that oughta produce soom BOOMIN' sales figures!...
....more ESPECIALLY after HPTX announces that the FDA will require a separate 510k approval for the urinary phenylacetylglutamine test that is REQUIRED to monitor appropriate dosages of the drug...and since HPTX doesn't do the test themselves, they will have to find some lab willing to undertake the onerous task of gaining approval even thought the lab itself might never see revenues from the test...
...oh, yes, that little announcement will certainly take a lot of the wind out of HPTX's sails, I should think!...

...according to Yahoo's calendar...could be pretty interesting..the stock seems to sit very low on radar screens...a positive surprise could send it flyng -- or not...in any case, it has fundamentals that give it solid support around 23 and a decent yield to make it worth holding....

...beggin' yur'pardpn, there, good buddy!...my first post pointing out what a scam HPTX really is occurred on 2/4/13...
...at that point, HPTX was trading at $19...the stock jobbers then proceeded to work their magic and got it all the way up to $26...
...perhaps having run out of naive suckers that bought their pitch, they now appear to be bailing off the proverbial SINKING ship like the rats most of of them are....
...and considering that HPTX's TRUE market cap shouldn't be more than the 30 million MAXIMUM expected revenue from sales of a product that has less than a thousand patients, most of whom are dependent on medicaid for their drugs and that competition is looming from overseas, I'd say HPTX still has a good 16-17 dollar drop ahead of it...

...for a company worth investigating...trading at around $19 with a hideous bid-ask spread...yield approaching 4%...book value around $28...steadily improving balance sheet with respectable earnings of around $1.60 a share...a value play with potential for acquisition rather than a growth stock....looks worthy for someone with long investment horizon and low risk tolerance...

"...confirmed that the Company's planned Marketing Authorization Application (MAA) for its ophthalmology product OMS302 can be submitted and reviewed under the EMA's centralized procedure."
...well, bless the EMA's heart!...that was so kind of them to allow GOMER to actually file an application for consideration at a future time in a galaxy far, far, away...
...speaking of applications, wasn't GOMER supposed to have submitted some kind of NDA for OMS302 to the FDA?...they seem to be running a mite slow on that issue, don't you think?...
...maybe they're worried about what they'll say when the FDA asks what benefits does OMS302 confer versus already available generic eyedrops....coming up with some good answers to that question might cause some serious consternation amongst all those well paid GOMER scientists...
