...hey, look at the bright side!...given that its REAL value is about the same as that of a piece of used toilet paper, that it's trading at $10 is a testament to the ability of stockbrokers to walk on water!...

    ...an ORMP shareholder prayer:

"Hail Goldman, full of salesmen, money is with thee, blessed art thou amongst brokers, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, big bonuses!, Holy Sachs, Mother of wealth, pray for us BAGHOLDERS, now and at the hour of our chapter 11 filing, amen!"

    ....HAW!!!!....

  • ...they file an 8k indicating they just sold 10 million shares for $1.20 a share and the stock rallies to $1.77?...methinks we must be approaching market correction time since that means the stock now has about 44 MILLION shares outstanding and a market cap approaching 80 million but whose "product" line looks hardly worth 5 million -- probably less when you factor in future costs of challenging competitors...

...hey, at least I know how many international units are in a milligram of insulin -- a "minor" detail that Orascam's "phD"s apparently overlooked!...HAW!...

  • ...did someone finally realize the company didn't know that ONE international unit equals .03846 milligrams of insulin, NOT 45.5 milligrams -- which means that their 8 mg pill contains 208 units of insulin and dosing three times a day would consume 624 units -- enough insulin to keep a typical type 1 diabetic supplied for three WEEKS!...and which would cost -- at current insulin prices -- somewhere in the neighborhood of $100 per day?!...

...and the type 1 diabetics would STILL have to use needles three times a day ANYWAY?!...

...I'm surprised the thing hasn't dropped to ZERO!

Fair value for ORMP is 25 cents imo.

...definitely too high!...not even worth the price of a piece of used toilet paper -- which, for all PRACTICAL purposes, is what the company is...

  • ...I'm sooooo surprised!...coming on the heels of a quarterly report revealing they're burning 14 mil a quarter and had only 14 mil in cash at the end of the last quarter!...and thanks to the recently announced "refinancing," shareholders picked up THIRTY TWO MILLION dollars in DEBT...

...gee, you'd think with the eagerly anticipated launch of "blockbuster" omridia only months away, there'd be all sorts of pharmas lining up to partner -- wouldn't you?...but alas, no, gOMER is once again back at the trough, making money for stockbrokers while diluting shareholder equity even further...hint, hint!...they can't find anyone else DUMB enough to give them more money!...

...and the wheels on the biotech bus go round and round...round and round...HAW!!!!....

...a better one would be "TFBJ" -- total ____ing biotech joke...or perhaps "JABS" -- just another biotech scam...always amazes me when these things get billion dollar capitalizations when, in reality, their stock isn't worth a piece of used toilet paper...

    ...specifically, gOMER said:

"A variety of cognitive tests will be assessed, although the relatively small size of this trial will limit the ability to detect treatment effects, if present."

...small size or not, they EVIDENTLY were UNABLE to "detect treatment effects" -- i.e. DIDN"T work...they also elected not to reveal ANY of the data of the three cognitive tests they administered, from which you may infer that not only did it NOT work, it didn't even SUGGEST a difference from the placebo!...

...all of which is confirmed by the PR revealing that they are pursuing HIGHER doses -- pretty obviously HOPING they can find SOME dose which will produce an effect...

...EVEN THOUGH they already reported that the "medium" dose achieved an "average of 66 percent target interaction (a high of approximately 70 percent)"...well, gee, if binding TWO THIRDS of the receptors couldn't produce SOME evidence of an effect, how likely is it that an even higher dose will do anything?...

  • ...today's PR announcing, "The data reported today showed that OMS721 significantly inhibited complement deposition in the model...blah, blah, blah..." is one of the better examples I've seen....

...at first, I thought it meant they had actual samples from aHUS patients that they tested the drug on -- but I then I saw "model" after I read it again more CAREFULLY and recognized what it REALLY said...

...first, note that all it really announces is that this Italian dude has an "experimental MODEL...based on the finding that serum samples from aHUS patients cause complement deposition and thrombus formation when incubated with human microvascular endothelial cells."...

...then gOMER reports that "...OMS721 significantly inhibited complement deposition in the MODEL using serum samples from aHUS patients..."...

...so here is this MODEL about which we have NO idea regarding its validity in which OMS721 inhibits complement...

...well, geeeeee!...even disregarding our ignorance of the validity of the model, isn't that just PRECLINICAL data?...I mean, isn't gOMER supposedly PAST that?...after all, it hardly seems relevant to be publishing PRECLINICAL data when you're ALREADY PAST the phase 1 stage!...ESPECIALLY considering by NOW you should have ALREADY demonstrated the stuff's ability to inhibit the MASP pathway!...

...I think we should all stand for a minute and give gOMER a big round of "slow clapping" for gOMER!...come on!...whad'ya say?!....HAW!!!....

  • ...seriously????...so let's see, gOMER repays the 20 million bucks they owed, but then turns around and borrows THIRTY TWO MILLION bucks????...since WHEN does INCREASING debt strenthen a balnce sheet?...oh, wait!...I almost forgot gOMER's a biotech!...ANYTHING that insures that management will continue to collect its fat salaries, benefits, bonuses, and perks will ALWAYS "strenthen" the balance sheet!...HAW!!!...

...and paying interest only for a year?...hmmmmmm...is gOMER having some cash flow problems?...burning 13-14 million a quarter can be a pretty big monkey on a company's back...

  • ...any earnings data since the 10Q for the period ending 9/30/13!...not that I'm wondering about revenues or profits because, being a biotech, most likely there AREN'T any!...nevertheless, I do wonder about what the total number of shares outstanding might be by now...at the end of 2012, it was 25 million...nine months later and, per the last 10Q, that number was up to THIRTY million!...whoooeeeee!...talk about multiplying like rabbits!...HAW!...

...in any case, the next 10K is due in about two weeks -- any bets on how many shares are outstanding now?...

  • ...to announce that they are able to administer a higher dose of whatever drug they are testing?...do they intend to charge by the pound?...HAW!!!...

...I mean, two weeks ago they actually announced dosing their FIRST patient in their HD trial!...well, now THAT"S news!...HAW!!!...I'm sure investors are just sweating with anticipation for whenever gOMER increases a dose or treats a patient!...

...I dunno but I suspect MOST people are more interested in gOMER releasing just a LITTLE data on EFFICACY!...

...well, I guess you could say that they already admitted stuff isn't working...there was the schizophrenia phase 2 PR where they claimed that "given the small sample size, efficacy conclusions cannot be drawn..." and where they didn't release ANY of the cognitive data -- in other words, the drug DIDN'T work...

...then there's all these silly PRs about being able to increase the dose -- in other words, the dose they're using ISN'T working...

...in the wonderful world of biotechs, it's best to learn the fine art of obfuscation BEFORE buying stock...

  • rrtzrealmd by rrtzrealmd Mar 6, 2014 9:16 PM Flag

...odd how few seem interested in FUR...book value around $14-15...yielding about 5.5%...FFO around $1.40...seems undervalued compared to most of the REITs currently trading...

...no, not necessarily, since you don't know the value of the assets OAK is buying...if they spend 300 mil to buy 400 mil in assets then shareholder equity is augmented -- not diluted...

...I dunno...OAK didn't specify a price...can't tell whether it's dilutive since it's being used to "acquire interests in its business from certain of its directors, employees and other investors, including certain Principals andother members of its senior management."...CG also announced a secondary today for $33.50 a share, which is about where it has been trading for the past week...just have to wait and see...

...intraday high was $16.35 and closed up 64 cents on decent volume...of course, the market was strong overall, but since when does EBF pay any attention to the market in general?...I still haven't figured out that decline in February...in any case, it met all of my own criteriaI, so I bought in at $15.40 and averaged all the way down to $13.50...I was beginning to wonder whether I had crossed the event horizon of some financial black hole!...
