    18 sites

The last time I looked, the FDA wouldn't accept number of sites as trial data. How many c-pulses has the company actually implanted in US trial patients so far.

Perhaps more significant is the CMO's evident firing -- judging from the wording of the 8-k -- for reasons the company apparently doesn't want to reveal -- as judged from the lack of any press release explaining what happened. It's even worse if he actually resigned since, obviously, with two trials going on, you'd have to conclude he didn't see a very bright future ahead.

Then there's the latest PR about "three equity awards under Sunshine Heart's New-Hire Equity Incentive Plan."
Even aside from wondering how many of these awards are required for "incentive" -- SSH reported similar awards earlier this year for apparently the same three people --," these "new hires" aren't all that new, having been employed around six months now. These people sure seem to be needing an awful lot of "incentive."

"no reason for this stock to remain in the cellar"??? Hmmmmm...I think I can offer a few. First, at end of last quarter, company had 1.9 million bucks and the burn rate was 3 million a quarter, which means right now they should be BROKE. They reported NO revenue as well as NO receivables -- so not only broke but ain't no money coming in. They got 1.8 million in payables, but how are they going to pay the bills? Most creditors won't take stock, you know? Finally, there's the "shock" of 54 million additional shares coming out of nowhere -- at least it probably was to most existing shareholders -- that didn't cost their shareholders a single dime because of an idiotic financing deal.Who would be stupid enough to buy stock in a company where management had screwed shareholders like that?

  • Seems odd to fire the CMO when the company has two trials going -- one of which is supposed to be pivotal. I don't see any press release explaining it.

  • ...it's nice to look at the chart and see it going UP inside of just sideways...

...HAW!!!...you might want to check out what happened to DRIO!...I called that one four or five months ago when it was trading north of a buck a share!...it closed at 5 CENTS a share Friday!!!...oh, man!...talk about a good laugh!...it dropped from 60 CENTS to a NICKEL in only a WEEK!!...man, no doubt the suck...uhhhhh...shareholders were like deer caught in the headlights!...you might want to go over to the DRIO message board and review the events -- ya'know, help prepare you for your own day of reckoning!...HAW!!!...

  • Is that all they they need to issue:

"Pursuant to the Exchange, all of the Warrants are being exchanged effective as of August 22, 2014 (and all such warrants are being terminated) in consideration of the issuance by the Company to the Warrant holders an aggregate of 54,030,950 shares of Common Stock (the “ Exchange Shares ”). The number of Exchange Shares issued to each Buyer was determined pursuant to a formula set forth in the Amendment and Exchange Agreements. Of the aggregate Exchange Shares, 49,660,465 were issued as of August 22, 2014 and the Company has reserved an additional 4,370,485 Exchange Shares for potential future issuance due to contractual limitations on ownership as agreed to with a Buyer. Following the Exchange, the Company has 75,158,770 shares of Common Stock outstanding."

  • ...about reimbursement for omidria in the 10-Q...it's too LONG to include all of it here, but the gist is:

"Obtaining reimbursement approval for any product from each government or third-party payor can be a time-consuming and costly process that will require the build-out of a sufficient staff or the engagement of third parties and could require us to provide supporting scientific, clinical and cost-effectiveness data for the use of our approved products to each payor. We can provide no assurances at this time regarding the cost-effectiveness and the amount, if any, or method of reimbursement for Omidria or any of our product candidates. Further, we can provide no assurance that the amounts, if any, reimbursed to surgical facilities for utilization of any of our surgery-related products, including Omidria, or product candidates or to surgeons for the administration and delivery of these products or product candidates will be considered adequate to justify the use of these products or product candidates."

    ...high-ho!...high-ho!... it's off to COA we go...HAW!...

  • ...I've ever seen from gOMER was in the 10-Q:

"We expect our continued operating losses to result in an increase in the total amount of cash used in operations until at least the time that Omidria becomes cash flow positive, which may be in several years, if at all."

...HAW!!...yeah, would have been even MORE truthful if they had emphasized the "IF AT ALL"...HAW!...

  • ...kicking this dog while it's down!...NOT!!...some clown on here was talking about the shorts getting crushed when earnings came out because of all the orders from the "launch" that was so "well received"!...ZERO revenues??...doesn't fit any "well received" definition I know of!...sorry but I just gotta:

Rosa said SPECIFICALLY -- AFTER apparently misspeaking probably because of acute panic caused by Cohn saying he was ready to start implanting -- that he was talking about the "powering system." Now, to the best of my knowledge, the ONLY powering system is the TET. In the press release from THREE YEARS ago:

"The internal driver was powered through the skin using transcutaneous energy transfer (TET), an established technology that uses a high-frequency electromagnetic field to transfer electricity through the skin without wires. The system successfully augmented the animal's heart function, confirming the viability of a fully-implantable unit."

Cohn says he's ready to rock with the pump, BUT Rosa vaults in with his "two different schedules because we're working with two different companies." He DIDN'T say that the problem was because they had to get FDA approval for the pump. Rosa seems to imply they've done all their testing on the pump but that it's the difference in "schedules" that's blocking human testing. Well, to me, if Cohn's all ready with the pump, then the holdup must be the "powering (aka TET) system" schedule. But NOW SSH WILL need to get FDA approval???

"FDA approved TET system."??? What TET system? Has ANYONE seen an actual photo of it? NOT a drawing, but an honest to gosh photo of it? Or a photo of it actually implanted? Photos in the presentations showed the pump implanted but didn't show the power supply anywhere. Given all the problems that EVERYONE appears to have had with TET in LVADs, wouldn't it be nice to see what EXACTLY SSH was planning on using?

  • ...have to tell Yahoo that I DON'T want to give them a mobile phone number and I DON'T want to change my password! I just want to ckeck my ffffin email!! Do they WANT to antagonize me for some reason?

  • Did Kmart have a blue light special on these things or what? Now I've stumbled across DRIO and ORMP and four or five others whose names I can't recall offhand.

And this one claims it's going to get rich selling an app that helps improve presbyopia? Well, that is if you're willing to sit around 15 minutes three times a day staring at an ipod screen for three months plus periodic boosters thereafter.

What's hilarious is that despite all the "scientific data" the company offers supporting the "therapy," they NEVER say how many people actually get to throw away their reading glasses! That would be the BEST advertising, wouldn't it? They say thing your eye can perform like its 8 years younger! Swell! Can I throw away my reading glasses? They NEVER sem to say that.

And look at these fundamentals -- 52 MILLION shares outstanding, last quarter revenues of $28,000 (I'm surprised there's even that many suckers), loss of 1.5 MILLION dollars.

How do these things manage to go public?

  • rrtzrealmd rrtzrealmd Aug 8, 2014 11:08 PM Flag

...that's easy!...they sit around and marvel at the fat paychecks, benefits, bonuses, and perks they get for sitting aound marveling at their fat paychecks, benefits, bonuses, and perks while doing practically NOTHING else except picking up the phone now and then to arrange another secondary offering or ATM deal!...thank God for capitalism and dimwitted investors!...HAW!...

Phase 2a (Type 1) US study completed

...gee, this is only -- what? -- the sixth or seventh phase 2 trial they've completed!...are they working on a world record of some kind?...HAW!!!...

  • ...and just think about that "readjustment period" where if DRIO averages below 89 CENTS for twenty days now, the company will be forced to issue who knows how many millions of FREE shares and warrants!...and just think!...it could go on FOREVER -- or until the stock hits zero!...ain't the stock market grand!..

  • rrtzrealmd rrtzrealmd Aug 6, 2014 10:18 AM Flag

"...blinded, controlled clinical study..."???...geez, how stupid can you be, pal?...kinda hard to "blind" a trial where you're shoving a hose through someone's chest wall!...and there are no FDA restrictions on announcing the number of implants-- indeed, SSH announced during the last quarter presentation that they had a whopping THREE patients enrolled in the US trial...given the way they've been thrashing about trying to get more patients -- hiring "superstars," newspaper ads, spamming CHF patients' email -- it's safe to say their problems are SERIOUS...they said they were even going to start banner ads at some point!...just imagine -- you might come here some day and watch some dude running across the top of the page wearing his c-pulse!...I'd be surprised if current enrollment has even made it up to six!...goin'to find out in just six more days!...

...at the patent application! I was curious to know exactly what exactly "the proprietary de-bulking and high-grade handling method" is that makes "a concentrated biologically active powder." Per the patent application, it appears that they cook the egg yolks with a "pulsed electric field," freeze dry the result, and then squeeze it into little pellets.

Now, this "concentrated" material then allegedly contains 36 micrograms per kilograms of pellets. Read that again -- 36 MICROgrams! Hmmmmmmmm...that's 36 parts per BILLION? So to get 3.6 milligrams of follistatin, someone would have to eat a HUNDRED KILOGRAMS or about FIFTY POUNDS of egg yolk pellets? Mercy! Stuff better be potent, huh?

What's sad and what MYOS neglects to mention is that as a protein, ALL the follistatin gets digested in the gastrointestinal and converted to amino acids before absorption. In other words, all that effort to isolate a negligible amount of follistatin is just wasted! So you actually get as much follistatin as you would from eating a scrambled egg. And I bet the egg would taste better, too!
