I don't think you'll be ridiculed on this board I think a lot of people have both Gild and ABBV, I go one further and have ENTA as well. Does anyone know what is up with that stock, I bought a bit more yesterday and then today it drops almost $3 to $46 on a wildly up day. Because of the size I think it is subject to some irrational movements but something had to be up today to cause it to drop that much. I love ABBV at these levels also.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

Did anyone really think they were going to get $1,000 a pill forever. Let's say it's down to $650 that's still a ton and probably more Rx's will be filled if it's cheaper. I'm waiting for a surge before earnings, once we hit $110 I'm selling half and keeping the rest for the foreseeable future.

My quick advice would be don't ever go naked. Still writing off my losses from the crash several years back, I was losing on both what I owned and what I borrowed on my margin account. After you get familiar you might want to consider selling some covered calls, as long as you own the 100 shares it lowers your risk a bit but of course it also limits your upside.

Excellent IMS Script data for week of 1/2/2015: Harvoni 6,100 Sovaldi 2,377 TRx: 8,477.Per Mark Schoenbaum of Evercore ISI:

    Harvoni 6,100 (+13.4%) Sovaldi 2,377 (+17.6%) TRx: 8,477 (+14.5%) Week ending 1/2/15.

In comparison TRx for ABBV combo came in at 50.

These are terrific script numbers for New Year's holiday week. Based on script data from previous weeks, the TRx for first full week data for January (1/5/15-1/9/15) is projected to be around 10,000

This post came from the GILD board, don't shoot the messenger I am long Gild, ABBV, ENTA and even ACHN

Thanks very much, that is kind of what I expected. Wow, that news is going to be something, chance of up $5 or down $5. Heck remember when it went from the low $40's to the upper $20' in about 3 days. Largely long but I do have a flock of puts just in case.

Gilead inks deal with Anthem for Harvoni!

ExpressScripts CEO says ABBV hcv $124 per pill less GILD Hi boober, copied and pasted this off the ENTA message board, someone said they heard this on CNBC, just repeating what was written, no idea if true. If this is true maybe its safe to assume deal with Anthem is similar. Didn't really expect to get $1,000 per pill forever, $876 or around this number would be great.

$38.50 calls for next Friday are selling for over $2, this is a huge premium. I know earnings aren't due out for a while, do they release XMAS sales information or is it something else. Some huge event has to be on store for next week that could materially impact the price to support premiums this large. Thanks in advance

You might want to take a look at ENTA, they get a royalty from ABBV, to me that stock looks undervalued. Relatively small company so the royalties will have a huge effect and also because of some other drugs they are working on they are a potential takeover candidate. Gild is my largest holding but I have decent positions in the 2 mentioned above plus ACHN. I love to own longterm calls and then sell calls against it, the premiums are very large on all 4 of these companies. JMHO

I believe Walgreens just ran through the exact scenario you talked about. Ridiculous drop to $60 due to not reincorporating in Europe which was never a done deal anyway, now back up to all time highs over $77 maybe 3 months later
