And nothing has happened that suggest that we can't be successful either. cuts both ways.

Flowers, Got to agree with you, with investors waiting on important news Cardiff in particular they seem to try and amuse us with some video that seems geared toward completely novice investors. The more stuff I'm seeing is making more nervous about this team. Just the facts TAG just the facts. Flowers you been following the currency markets the 1st qrt. The NZ dollars just had one of its best qrts. against the Canadian dollar since TAg reports in Candain dollars might be a tail wind on reported GAAP earning, of coarse production numbers will trump that. Any thoughts.

Hello Titus, first time I came across your handle since the PATH board. Been following NWBO for some time but have been trading it more then I did with path, bought back in this morning. Interesting prospects here if things work out . If they do it wont be anything like PATH 's final buyout. regards s52teve

I see a Baron's write up today on the Athlon purchase while not a hit per say piece they make it out to be not so big a deal for Linn when the hell is 275M of possible capex not a big deal that about 80 cents per unit. granted any exchange would require some capital outlay but if you can reduce your cost basis substantially and maintain production with no net loss of reserves with the right deal THEN IT IS A BIG DEAL that what our business model is all about.

  • Here is our guide post for the Permian assets Athlon Energy{ ATHL} announces purchase of 23,500 acres in Martin, Upton, Glasscock, and Andrews counties for 873 million current production 4,800 boe/p our current production is 17mboed/d on the 55,000 wolfcamp acreage, 2 billion looks doable for a sale or swap.

Of course there is no substitute for actual results, but they need to get a much higher share price if they want to use it as currency to grow. The shorts keep getting the upper hand. The latest SA today can Linn afford its payout as an example they need to put this kind of chatter to bed with a growth curve that is believable and substainable. Even the DRIP program is very dilutive with the SP at this level. Let see if these guys are worth what we the shareholders are forced to pay them. If they can't generate interest in New York we are going to have a tough fight against the shorts.

Another SA article of what ifs, maybes, nothing that has not been hashed and crunched already numerous times, coincidentally one day before X date, that's more suspicious at the moment then LINN's ability to maintain its payout.

Chop, over 655K between the two exchanges and the move started on block buys on both so somebody other then us little folks got the green light on Cardiff but we should not be surprised by that, We'll take the green gain on an other wise lousy day for the market.. If it for real then TAG may go ahead with heatseeker immediately and IF they hit there then TAG is a whole different company.

An obvious observation between LINE and LNCO is the option chain, LINE has weekly options with strikes at the half dollar mark this gives players ways to place weekly bets and other to time a possible weekly divvy on a covered call bet. It does not justify the premium just that there is more interest in LINE with this being available.

Flowers, The only info I could find was the news release on 3/27/14 by Energy news New Zealand author Kate Barken. Ensco-107 jack-up rig is on its way to the Marri field after being unloaded from the heavy vessel Talisman. The rig arrived at Port Taranaki from Singapore on the dockwise-owned Talisman prior to starting a development program at Admiralty Bay after clearing customs at the port yesterday. I think we are both in agreement that the entire cap-ex for CY14 is up in the air at this point at least as it relates to any deep plays that require large sums of capital. If Cardiff works out then their back on the table but we" just don't know" at this point in time. We are due for some news soon good or bad on Cardiff . regard Steve

It's call creating a" trading range" for the benefit of the investment banks and hedge funds they don't care which way the trend is up or down, if the market won't give it to them they create it. The flip flop of JPM is a classic example. Everyone knows that the 1st qrt. was tough on producers because of weather issues, that's in the rear view mirror I can see it now from wall street after LINN reports 1st qrt. results. We are up grading LINN as they appear to have navigated the winter related issues and as they move into more normalized operational environment, production growth should pick where to the covered ratio will be comfortably above 1 for the forseeable future. Additional strength in the share price may occur as they monetize the Permian assets.

Chop, your thesis is spot on, I have commented before that TAG needs a partner for the EC properties for several reasons, expertise and knowledge are certainly two of them With the SP at the current level it is always a possibility that someone would try to get the whole company on the cheap, there is value here and IF the EC ever did play out to the good it would be a grand slam not just a home run. I say that Todd would be more interested at this point then APA. One article I read puts a EV on Todd at about 3 billion as a private company. Nothing like home turf to work from

With Apache's CEO comments on the permian this morning both these pure plays are up. There's a big deal coming from Linn sometime in the future with the assets they have there.

  • s52teve by s52teve Mar 27, 2014 8:51 AM Flag

Interview on CNBC this morning Apache CEO stating the Permian basin will end up being bigger then the balken or the eagleford. With new pipelines being built directly to the coastal areas and exportation of crude in the future the permian will be the largest onshore producer in the Unite States.
