Apple is a year late to the party

OSX, iOS, Linux, Android are all UNIX based Operating Systems so they are all similarly robust/secure. A lot more than Windows for sure. However, there are always ways around the most secure systems. Apple has had to patch many security flaws over the years on all their platforms and OSes. I'm sure you've heard of the recent celebrities nude pics scandal that were stolen from Apple's secure servers. Yep. Chew on that!

  • How does Apple expect people to pay as much as $499 + year contract for a phone that its competitors have been offering for over a year now?

I used iPhones for 5 years but made the switch in January to a Galaxy Note 3 with 32GB. I have service with StraightTalk and I pay $45/mo for unlimited everything and the service is quite good and I have an AT&T SIM card in my phone.

So in other words I have a phone that is everything as good as the iPhone 6 and I pay $100 less for service every month than most AT&T customers pay.

Why would people flock to buy the iPhone 6 when much better alternatives have been available for over one year?

The days of Apple being a pioneer and charging for novelty are over IMHO. I predict this iPhone 6 will not be as popular as some of its predecessors.
