Trying to us logic with Chippy will send you to the looney bin.All I know Is this morning I asked myself-- Self how many shares would you buy at below 21.50 knowing what you know ? Self replied-- A lot !! Sold the March 25 puts today from 3.70 down to 3.50.Seemed to stop the tanking.I just hope Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum were buying also.Cheers
EXAS has had a healthy pullback culminating with announcement today of placement of 4 million shares with Instiyutions at a price of 25.75.Why would a company with over 210 million In the bank do this ?? Jan 12 Is J.P. Morgan health conference. This Is only the second recommendation I have ever made on this board- buy the stock or for an Aggresive play the Jan 17 expiration calls.I own the 29 and 30 strike.Cheers.
Can anyone give a definitive answer as to If they have started the buyback or have they found another excuse not to buy ?? Volume and price action Is pathetic.Only bright spot Is 8150 but even that should be much higher off Nov numbers.Cheers
Was also watching 8150 trade and makes me think someone Is finally doing the arb trade.lets face facts. If your selling 8150 at roughly $ 26 and buying IMOS at 22.50 where Is the risk ?? A day of reckoning Is coming.Cheers
Your best post ever as It echoes my feelings exactly. As I write this I see chippy finally broke through 22.Feels like " Ground hog day " all over again.Lets hope the trend up continues as I've had enough " Buying Opportunities " to last a lifetime !! Cheers
Your trifecta Is the best of all as beats the superfecta substantially over the last month.I still have some TSEM ( Thanks to Jaret and his " stupid cheap " comment " ) but not as much as I would have liked due to overweight Chippy position.Hopping for nice move In 8150 tonight so we can put $ 22.00 In the rear view mirror for good.Cheers
Own them all and guess what ? He's back !! Our call buyer In Chippy. This time he hit the offer In the Dec 22.5 calls at .50 cents for 1670 contracts.Hope he Is right.Cheers.
Could they be taken private ? It would not be an unpleasant surprise-At the right price.
Who Is the consistent seller who Is more concerned with keeping the IMOS price down then selling for a higher price? I know the fundamentals will win out In the long run but why does Managment have to be so " stubborn " about WHEN they start the buybacks ? All I know for sure Is another 50,000 + shares were NOT retired for no good reason today.Cheers.
While I respect Caff's very bullish call and buying of the 2016 calls I will simply keep a smaller core position and sell put's for added Income. My Chippy long call positions have educated me on a better way to play.Gotta love that premium erosion.Cheers.
Congrats to you and Marnis.Your exit strategy Is perfect. My own core position which started with the 12.50 calls remains Intact.Have been selling Jan 36,37,38 calls against spec shares I bought around 32.
Chippy Is very frustrating to say the least.Bought 100 Dec 25 calls for .05 ( cheap lottery ticket ) with stock at 21.05.Tried to buy 300 more and nothing.put the order back In with stock at 20.77 and still nothing.Worst option market makers In America. To all a good weekend.Cheers.
It's not surprising to me that there Is a buyer at that level and size.Whats surprising and EXTREMLY annoying Is we are not buying those shares.Managment continues to act like the Keystone cops.Rather then declare a larger buyback amount I'm sure they will wait and declare a second one following the first with the " usual " 30 day cooling off period. So pathetic.
The blatant manipulation of this stock ( especially 8150 ) Is very annoying but I believe will come to an end soon. All I can say Is Happy Thanksgiving and thank the lord for M.U. !!! Cheers.
Thanks for the very Informative post. The logic behind doing Thailin before collapsing the shares makes sense. The problem I have with Managment Is they cannot " walk and chew gum at the same time ".There Is no legal reason they have a " 30 day cooling off period " You say they " have always had a 30 day cooling off period ". Just because they have screwed it up every time In the past does not mean They keep screwing up !!!.Good managers learn from their mistakes. They have cost the U.S. Shareholders a lot of money with these bungled buyback's.FYI since the Sep 3 announcement of the completed Spil buyback over 9 million shares have traded. If they had a buyback in place,as they should have, we could have retired well over 2 million shares. Now we are expected to be patient for another 6 months by your calculations.I would have been If they were buying shares Immediatly but they have let us down again.Have a nice weekend.Cheers
Your frustration Is more then justified.Managment neglected to mention the " delayed " buyback on the C.C. For fear of being question on It.It's bad enough we have not been buying shares after the Spil purchase but this latest delay Is the last straw.Shareholder friendly my a##.
Like your style-just the facts. Now maybe buy-buy can get that putz David P. To confirm so we can put this question behind us.Cheers
Funny you mention Baupost.Just called their Boston office and tried to get Klarman on the phone.Unable ( what a surprise ) but did explain we are a frustrated group of long term shareholders controlling roughly 10 % of the stock.Left contact Info and was told lead analyst will follow up.Believe It when I hear from him but I will stay persistent.Cheers
