But, if you needed brain surgery (which I can argue right now), I bet you'd want him to do it. He's such an idiot, right?
Trump is way down, or did Carson gain at the expense of Walker? I think the latter. What support for Trump? I've never said I'd vote for him. I have always said I'm glad he's in there. Right now TRUMP controls the GOP debate. How 'bout that. And if Carson continues his ascent, sure I'll support him. Would you expect me to support Jeb instead? Not a chance.
The police DO NOT randomly shoot people as you suggest. Starting with Michael Brown, each incident that has occurred in which the police have shot someone, there was ALWAYS some unlawful act preceding the shooting. ALWAYS.
never say never. Not a good idea.
Carson and Fiorina rising at Scott Walker's expense. Jeb still at 5%. This is so interesting.
thanks MBP. Nice to be validated by other common sense folks. Liberalism is devoid of all common sense. Like that lib pizza guy in the SF Bay area who thought it would be grat to pay all his employees a living wage right now even though he didin't have to. How noble of him. However, he quickly learned that the libs in SF did not want to pay $30 for a pizza and he in endanger of going out of biz. Libs are all for such stuff until it directly affects them. Then they say, let the other guy pay, not me. They're phony.
My first real summer job in 1971 paid $1.85/hr. The only other guys making than were also summer hires making the same. The older guys made plenty more. In 1972 I made $2.50 per hour with a cleaning company servicing apartment complexes. Summers 1973, 74, and 75, I made $3.25, $3.75, and finally $4.00/hr. After than I was off on my career ladder. Again, all those who made that dough were young like me. Older guys with families made a lot more.
What was the min. wage before Reagan? It was prob $4.00/hr. That would have been tough for a family to make it then on that wage. When you were young starting out who were your co-workers making what you made? They were other young folks, right? The older ones with families made a lot more than I did.
everyone started somewhere. The point is they don't stay there. And if they do stay there, there's something going on that limits he/she. Most learn, grow, and move up and on. Shoe sales jobs then were commissioned sales. Are they still? I don't know. Some did very well. I recall reading about a guy selling ladies shoes at an upscale department store. He made 80K way back then.
What was your first job? Why did you leave it? This is the third time I've asked and you haven't answered. Why?
it's common sense you idiot. Who takes a minimum wage job and expects to stay there? No one. You move up and move on after gaining valuable experience.. Most of us have done that. Even you, right? What was your first job as a teen? How long did you stay in that job? Not long.
Do you libs ever think in terms of common sense? No. You jump on populist emotion loaded issues and hang your hat on it.
stop it delacrud. You had a first job as a teen. What was it? How much were you paid? Even in your day and mine, no one, I mean no one, expected to be paid enough to live on. It was a starter job. Nothing has changed in that regard, except you libs' populist expectations for the purpose of electing the lefties you want. THAT did not exist in our day.
Have at it delacrud. Go pay for your $30 pizza. You will enjoy it knowing you're helping some to have a living wage.
cause and effect. The lib pols know a $15/hr living wage will hurt. But they don't care. It's populist. The uninformed jump on that because it sounds good. None of them think of the effects.
The pols claim a living wage will improve the economy. But they lie. Do you know how we know they lie? Because they implement it in increments. If $15/hr improves the economy why stop there? Why not $20, $30, or $40/hr if all that is good. They don't do that because they know the effects. Again, they don't care that businesses will close, people will lose their jobs. Nice work libs.
it is what it is, dope. THe pizza guy's story is documented. You don't like it. However, it is reality. People will lose their jobs either by a biz going out of biz or more experienced and dependable people taking those jobs from the young and unskilled. Nice work libs.
--liberalism at work. This guy thought he was doing what the libs want. Turns out even libs won't pay for $30 pizzas. Nice work.----
Last month, the small Bay Area town of Emeryville, California, (population 10,000) decided to act as flag-bearer for raising the minimum wage in California, hiking its minimum wage to $14.44 per hour.
Even though businesses with less than 56 workers are exempt from the $14.44 rate and do not have to raise their wages to $15 until 2018, Vic Gumper, who owns Lanesplitter Pizza, with outlets in Berkeley, Oakland, Albany and Emeryville, decided not only to bite the bullet but swallow it, paying his workers $15 to $25 an hour while eschewing tips or raising prices.
He advertised his $30 pizzas and other food items as “sustainably served, really … no tips necessary,” according to the Los Angeles Times.
Sales at Gumper’s locations have plunged 25% in the last few months, forcing Gumper’s to close during lunch hours at some locations.
Gumper admitted, “The necessity of paying people a living wage in the Bay Area is clear, so it’s hard to argue against it, and it’s something I’m really proud to be able to try doing. At the same time, I’m terrified of going out of business after 18 years.”
I hated those bank bailouts. Bush himself said he set aside his free market principles in order to do it. By saying that Bush became a nothing in the minds of conservatives. He listened to the likes of Hank Paulson and those other Goldman Sachs crooks. Too big to fail. Bah! If the banks can't cut it they should fail. We'd have shaken it off and moved forward.
QE was indeed artificial. You doubt it? All the financial experts say so. the Fed printed trillions for the purpose of pumping it into the market. Explain how it wasn't artificial?
