"I've got some news...first off, stock's halted. Shorts, you may want to hit the bar NOW and get 3 fingers of your favorite poison...you're gonna need it..."
Anytime significant news is to be released you can expect a halt. A reasonable amount of time is extended to everyone who might not be able to act on news immediately.
I think the guy in Tom Hank's "Green Mile" said it best... "I believe this boy's cheese has slid off his cracker."
I should probably have you on ignore, Quad, but don't, so I'll tell you this: your last post is treading on libel. Walk carefully.
Limit orders in Scottrade only allow about 2 or 3x current PPS, but a conditional order is different. You can put a trailing stop order in for, say a $5 stock to sell IF certain conditions are met, like a $45 pps... I use it all the time for cash and margin accts.
Shorting is part of the market just like going long. People who don't like it can get over it or go invest in CD's or Index Funds.
Without reading it, I figured the last few lines would be something like, "I'll stick to the sidelines for now..." and they didn't disappoint. More of the same from the MF crowd...
You're not kidding. At work, they put 40" tv's in our office and i'm forced to watch Fast Money all day. Thank GOD there's no sound. These guys look like carnival barkers. I can only imagine the dribble coming out of their mouths.
