    Future of ETRM (per source)

    by adelfig Nov 26, 2014 11:54 AM

gsc -- It seems that I completely agree with you. It also seems that we have similar time-frames in mind. My guess of $20 in couple of years comes from all the numbers floating around and the increasing severity of obesity. Things that may help to achieve this would include a smaller device, international markets, third-party compensation especially in light of addressing comorbidities. Then ultimately the possibility of being acquired. This would all come after the immediate post-approval ripples. The cons would be management wandering other goals, premature selling of the company with little return to the investors, competition coming up with similar applications that we do not yet know about, and the worst would be a bad publicity due to a poor application/mishap of some sort. If we sail through all this, yes I do see $20 easily. Look at ICPT, look at JAZZ for example; I think we can follow similar paths if things work out -- Chances?... please don't ask :) ... Happy Thanksgiving!

Tristano -- This is not all too bad! So we are at $1.4 that is 28% of his prediction. If his consistency prevails, we should hit $3.36 which is a 140% jump -- well, I can believe that. If that happens, more gradual increases will come once income stream is established. I would not be surprised if pps hits $20 at some point within a year or two -- but there are too many unknowns on the way for an accurate prediction.

During summer I emailed Jodi several times when pps was going south. I got response once but others I did not. I also talked over the phone but it was mostly repeat of the same everyday explanations. I don't think their focus is on investors at this time. This might be normal given the situation.

I assume you mean KODAK. That was a company I once liked very much and even studied their history. I have about 20 of their earliest cameras including the No.3A's. How much did the EK shareholders receive at bankruptcy?

Inns -- I follow all your postings and agree with you on most instances :) The difference comes in our level of confidence in human beings (!) Yes, VBLOC therapy is a novel and innovative idea and product; but it is not really a rocket science either. Why would FDA sit on it for six months to make a decision that could and should have been made in a month or two!.. After all it is a matter of statistics and safety information -- and they are all there. In any leading-edge competition, time is of essence. I don't buy in, or think of conspiracy theories but this unexplainable delay is creating a comfort-zone for the pills that have been recently approved as well as an opportunity to advance for the competition that I am sure is working on similar developments. Yes, ETRM people are bright but there are many right people around and especially in larger companies they also have the resources and the human capacity. Obesity is a "huge" market and "electroceuticals" is an attractive, emerging area. Everyday FDA is delaying their decision is a disadvantage for ETRM. Patents are fine but there are 1,000 ways to skin a cat, right? Many top companies don't even file patents not to disclose what they are working on. I am not drawing a connection between FDA and outside interference but this strange delay is admittedly pushing me in that direction! Have a great Thanksgiving!

Tiktok -- It is similar in that it is a layered deposition (additive manufacturing) process. 3D printing actually originated from MIT and the layered deposition manufacturing originated from U. Texas-Austin, both couple decades ago. There are now more than dozen different approaches and ours is based on micro-extrusion -- or deposition. The goal was to impregnate it with living cells as well; with good cell adhesion to scaffolds.

Thanks -- Yes, I am well aware of several cases and that's why I go beyond the innovative product to see true success. That's why I sometimes question the management behavior because having an innovative product is just the beginning of a success story -- there remains much ground to cover before reaching the end point. That's why my postings sometime sound critical of the corporate behavior. I also don't seem to have the same level of confidence in FDA as many other do. No, you are not spoiling my party because I am not having, or expecting to a party.

eqty -- No, I am long with 54k! and I am still in red. By the way, I never shorted in my trades, never! I had a big chunk of Calls for post-AdCom, and lost it all because it went south there after. I must admit that I purchased my shares when they were floating around $2 and even zeeman123456 had said in one of his postings that this stock would not likely go down to $1.50's!..

To the contrary, I am a strong supporter of ETRM. FYI I am a PhD myself and just recently received a new patent on bio-scaffolding. I don't play the trading games; I just want them to succeed because it is an innovative technology with bright future, just like what many of us are trying. I don't want them to collapse before they see the daylight,. Yes, like several others I am frustrated with many of the bumps we have seen during 2014, and trying to recover from disappointments. I hope this is convincing for you. Happy holidays!

Yes, I believe FDA announcement is "Public", so if ETRM choses to be silent, which would not surprise me :) it would put them in an awkward position.

Inns -- I started to believe that they are trying to give some play-space for the recently approved obesity drugs. This is very disappointing and creates additional concern as to in what form it will be approved (labeling, etc.). So far FDA has been in odds with their own statements and guidelines as we know about them!

I hope he is still around . He also said that e thought this was a $20 stock -- and I still believe him :)
