An E. coli outbreak linked to Chipotle locations in two states has now spread to four more, with 43 people getting sick after eating at the popular burrito chain, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced Friday.
But Chipotle will not close any more of its restaurants, a company spokesman told PEOPLE in a statement.
"At the moment, we do not believe that it is necessary to close any restaurants because [of] the timing of visits," Chipotle's Chris Arnold told PEOPLE. "It's important to note that, while these incidents are newly reported, they aren't really new in that exposure would was weeks ago." (The CDC also tells PEOPLE that, at this time, they are not recommending people avoid eating at Chipotle restaurants.)
Sold all 40 @ $1.65 each for profit of $ 3,800. Not bad for weekend spending money.
me know this is #$%$ shoot but me think we might see $92 today.
Due to veterans day. Should go back to $ 42 Friday. Get in if you want to make quick buck.
SEATTLE, Nov 9 (Reuters) - Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc could reopen locations in Washington state and Oregon as soon as Wednesday after a batch of tests found no E. coli bacteria in food samples, health officials said on Monday.
Public health officials are still working to identify the cause of the E. coli food poisoning that has sickened 43 people, most of whom dined at eight Chipotle restaurants in the greater Seattle and Portland areas. All of Chipotle's 43 outlets in those areas have been closed since Oct. 31.
Scott Lindquist, Washington state's epidemiologist for communicable disease, said Chipotle could start shipping produce to restaurants on Tuesday and Wednesday. The outlets could reopen on Wednesday and Thursday, after meeting certain requirements.
Chipotle needs to sanitize each restaurant and throw out all food items and pre-test certain high-risk foods such as lettuce and peppers as it brings in new food, Lindquist said.
Worthless all those bought today. Maximum pain at $50 stricks
Or by this rate we will see $47 tommarow. They will try hard to make weekly options worthless.
