kathleenbradshaw---I agree with you. CREE is over-sold and I believe we'll be back in the high 40's next week. It'll take some really good news to go through 55, but it's a possibility for sure over the next 90 days, in my opinion. I have no inside information, never have, and never claimed to have inside info in any public security. I express a lot of opinions though. Don't we all! GLTA.

jrmiles0014--you talking about F Neal? He spent his wad cornering the market for moissanite stones I believe. They look might purty underneath those CREE bulbs. Or maybe that was Niel that did that. Those were the good old days, jr. These are the good new days.

bobzz---AYI would get back a bunch of former employees if that happens. They've got the greatest access to the market for smart lighting fixtures, in my opinion. Why would they want to share CREE's technology with their competitors? BUT, alas, CREE wants to blaze their own trail and this will limit their future success, in my opinion. They'll be successful, but not spectacularly so. Perhaps they'll surprise us all with a game changing alliance of acquisition. Time will tell. I'm holding fast, as always.

  • I seem to recall some postings about future layoffs and plant closings for this faulty IPO. Can't really remember though when or who spoke on this here on the CREE board. Anyone seen jcreameyboy lately? Osram was always one of his favorite 50 companies. Siemens knew what a failure this business was. The most deceptive clue is the obvious one. They spun it off so it could prosper. OK. Siemens wants nothing to do with LEDs or lighting, right? BUT, GE does, right? GLTA

bobzz--Your idea has plenty of merit, in my opinion. I'm not sure egos will allow it to happen. CREE is focused on changing the way smart lighting is sold, except they haven't got the horses, yet. Changing sales leadership as they did just totally alters the picture for me. There ARE people who could execute CREE's desired market strategy and I think they'd be available. They've chosen to go down a dimly lighted path. Maybe it's full of sensors that can turn all the lights of success on. I've been invested for 20 years so I'm not going anywhere. I hope they are. I have no clue about the strategy anymore. There don't even appear to be any deceptive clues that I can see. Nothing is obvious!! GLTA

mono---I'm not in the speculating mode about Philips. I don't care for them. They've butchered their lighting holdings, in my opinion. As for CREE, they lack strong enough access to the market and are losing out on large, profitable orders which rightfully should be theirs every single day. They need to tune up their model about three notches. It's possible for them to buy better access. Another company with good representation would do the trick. If one doesn't have sales decision makers who know how to capture market share, then I think one has to buy immediate access. It's an opportunistic and realistic possibility today. CREE needs to move on it sooner, rather than later. I'd like to see it done before this calendar year ends. GLTA long time shareholders, new shareholders and all CREE employees. The people I talk with in the lighting industry all understand what a sleeping giant CREE still remains.

  • No, I didn't know that the FAUX TRADER claimed to have spoken with me and that we buried the hatchet. I'm as surprised as anyone at the message he posted. IN MY OPINION, jpmarketer is a FAUX TRADER AND A LIAR. I HAVE NEVER SPOKEN with this Jersey Putz, regardless of what he has posted on Yahoo. Now here's some "inside information" for the CREE board:

"Sal, It was Good Speaking With You
    by jpmarketer • Jul 12, 2014 2:50 PM

Glad we were able to bury the hatchet. "

Besides his other issues with telling the truth, maybe jpmarketer has a substance abuse problem. He certainly tends to fly off the handle occasionally and make wild accusations. IN MY OPINION, he has to be on something to exhibit such erratic behavior. Besides, HE'S A LIAR, proven many times over. Famous for claiming to make trades that Time and Sales prove weren't made. The professor is a FAUX TRADER. . I've proved jpmarketer to be a liar and I'm done with the fool. He's not smart enough to go away, so one has to make him go away. Now I'll put the putz back on IGNORE Everybody on this CREE board should do the same, IN MY OPINION.

pjm/jpm faux trader---Well Pinochhio, you've got the board to yourself so you can tell some more tall tales. Just like I said I would do after earnings, I'm out this morning and off to finish the deal on the golf course. Here's hoping those $155 profit trades of yours add up some day.IF you actually made any of the trades you've claimed, I would be surprised. After all, Time and Sales doesn't lie, but the Faux Trader does. Keep on spinning those yarns, little man. Adios. The west beckons. . . .

jacked---Twice and they'll be having more layoffs and plant closings. Why do you think it got spun off by the parent? There's nothing fine about what they're doing. They've been spinning their shareholders every day since the spinoff. Perhaps a reverse inversion to Massachusetts is in order. Bring in Dieter to save the day. All hands on deck. . . more investors needed. Write down some inventory and have an Octoberfest sale.

Nice try, jerryvita. What you were seeing of Philips were facings of all those legacy light bulbs that are sucking the life out of their company. Next month head on over to the "CLOSEOUT" section where Philips boat anchors and wooden shoes will be prominently featured. More plant closings and more workers losing their jobs is a good thing for the Dutchboyz though. Just keep on touting their products. I'll just keep saying CREE, it's all you need to know about SMART LED LIGHTING FIXTURES AND CONTROLS. Good luck to all real shareholders and employees.

  • HA HA HA---the committed long shareholders catch a break today while the faux traders are left gnawing on a big ole bone. Make believe trades don't cut it, jpm/pjm. You lit the fuse when you sold. Of course, you'll have some faux trades to announce any moment. HA HA HA. Tell us that story about not being able to short the shares at ETRADE again. That's a real laugher, pal. So are your market calls and your analysis skills. Pat yourself on the back, faux daddy. Good luck to all REAL shareholders and employees of ENOC.

I don't understand the release statement from the CEO. First you say that OESX IS the leader in retrofit LED market, and later of you say OESX is going to take market share and BECOME the leader in LED retrofits. HUH???? In either case, these are two statements that will NEVER HAPPEN. TOAST! Non-lighting amateurs trying to win in the competitive LED lighting environment. TOAST! Fire up the baking ovens. An investment company has already gone through a lot of bread and there's really nothing to show for it other than some amateur's wet dreams. TOAST!

Does Lumileds spinoff include the oled fab?

    by blackoutbuzz Jul 29, 2014 4:39 PM
    sillysally2938 sillysally2938 Aug 1, 2014 10:28 AM Flag

OLEDs aren't going to be used in "normal" lighting fixtures. The source is used differently. The plenums are going to look far differently in the future because a lighting "fixture" is probably not what will light the home or work space when OLEDs hit their stride. They've come a long way in 50+ years since I saw a prototype greenish colored wall that today wouldn't even be practical economically. I'm thinking we'll see a lot of OLED spaces very shortly that have accent lights only, and no traditional lighting fixtures. LEDs are applicable pretty much everywhere if their housings and their operating are managed appropriately, but you're right about OLEDs not being applicable everywhere, Quantum. They probably wouldn't do well for wooden shoe displays.

  • Let's see if we can get a "FLUSH" on jeremycreameyboy009. GLTA real investors in CREE as well as CREE employees.

  • Perhaps you can buy SunSun bulbs as well, another jcreameyboy favorite. There are more than 20 companies whose products have been touted by jcreameyboy009 on this CREE page. How's that not ABUSE???? Perhaps it's time for the creameyboy to take a hike and come up with another screen name. Violation of TOS on Yahoo. Attaboy, creamey. See ya! Take that lying phony JerseyPutz Marketing Phony with you when you leave. A liar is a liar is a liar, JPM/PJM. Just keep making it up as you go along, pal. How long ago was it that Toshiba packed up their bags and left Houston when they found themselves unable to compete in the US???? Where did we hear months ago that there would be more layoffs and plant closings at Osram even while they were being touted by the creameyboy??? Let's see how the Dutchboyz do with their continuing ownership of all those legacy lighting "assets", too. GLTA real shareholders and employees of CREE, the industry acknowledged SMART LED LIGHTING market leader. It would be awful to get caught short when a big announcement gets made, in my very humble opinion.

army---Do you know how difficult it is to ride a bike to work when you're wearing wooden shoes? Guess wearing the shoes gives a Dutchboy an edge. . . all bow down to the great creameyboy009 for cutting/pasting an article that's available in many places for those of us who actually follow SMART LED LIGHTING and know something about it.
