  • AeroVironment, Inc. (NASDAQ:AVAV) is the next stock that, just like TSLA, should be taking off soon! Check it out.

AeroVironment, Inc. engages in the design, development, production, support, and operation of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), tactical missile systems, and efficient energy systems for various industries and governmental agencies in the United States and internationally. It offers small UAS, which provide ISR and communications, including real-time tactical reconnaissance, tracking, combat assessment, and geographic data to the small tactical unit or individual operator. The small UAS wirelessly transmit critical live video and other information to a hand-held ground control unit, enabling the operator to view and capture images. The company also provides spare equipment, alternative payload modules, batteries, chargers, repair services, and customer support services for small UAS; and contract engineering services in support of customer-funded research and development projects. In addition, it offers electric vehicle charging systems for plug-in passenger and fleet vehicles; PosiCharge industrial electric vehicle charging systems for electric material handling vehicles and airport ground support equipment; and power cycling and test systems for developers and manufacturers of electric vehicles, as well as battery packs, electric motors, and fuel cells. The company serves organizations within the U.S. Department of Defense, including the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, Special Operations Command, and Air Force, as well as commercial, consumer, and government customers. AeroVironment, Inc. was incorporated in 1971 and is headquartered in Monrovia, California.

  • Judge rules commercial drones are legal, undoing six-year ban

By Adrianne Jeffries on March 6, 2014 07:57 pm

An administrative judge on the National Transportation Safety Board has ruled that the commercial use of small drones is in fact legal, despite six years of Federal Aviation Administration statements to the contrary.

Today Judge Patrick Geraghty dismissed a $10,000 fine levied by the FAA against Raphael Pirker, a Swiss drone operator who used a camera drone to film on the University of Virginia campus. "At the time of respondent's model aircraft operation ... there was no enforceable FAA rule or FAR Regulation application to model aircraft or for classifying model aircraft as an UAS," the judge writes.

The ruling effectively invalidates the FAA's 2007 ban on the use of commercial drones. But if the agency appeals, the case will go to the Washington, DC, US Court of Appeals.

There are plenty of would-be drone operators eagerly awaiting the opportunity to do so legally. Amazon famously announced that it would create a fleet of package delivery drones, but had to shoot its demo video outside the US to comply with alleged FAA rules.

  • In an article titled "Drone insanity grips investors" on today's Market-Watch page, Nigam Arora claims that Wednesday's behavior toward AeroVironment AVAV was insane, and the stock should be sold.

Mr. Arora, an engineer, nuclear physicist, author, and entrepreneur and the founder of two Inc. 500 fastest growing companies, is probably feeling quite stupid for not seeing AVAV's surge coming, while we longs always knew. Now, in an attempt to steal shares from investors, he bashes the surge and calls it non-sense. Folks, I have been investing for a long time and I can tell you that when these "so-called-experts" tell you to sell... YOU BUY and YOU BUY BIG TIME!

Look at Tesla, Pandora and many others, all of them have a SELL rating yet the stock keeps on climbing.
IMHO I believe that AeroVironment is probably one of the best investments on Wall Street. They have great products, smart and fiscal responsible people who want this company to succeed like no other. Like it or not, UAS drones are the future and EV are the future. AeroVironment leads on both. AVAV has $200,000,000 in cash and no debt. It has deals with the government, lockheed Martin and many others. Take that to the bank Mr. ARORA!

  • Satellites are not cheap business. They cost a lot of money to design, construct, launch and monitor. Just how much money? If you have at least $290 million in your bank account, that money can go into making a satellite that can track and monitor hurricanes. Add about $100 million dollars more if you want a satellite that carries a missile-warning device.

AeroVironment and Geostationary Satellite can provide all of these plus more for pennies on the dollar. We now know that Zuckerberg is going after Titan Aerospace, my bet is that either Go ogle or MS FT may want to do the same with AVAV.

If you add to these AVAV's technology on EV Chargers, my friends, we have a winner here!

Once again, the wolves of Wall Street are conspiring to screw the small investors out of their life savings. TSLA, just like Bitcoins and the "Pink Sheet" trading depicted in the movie the Wolf of Wall Street are destined to end the same way. The truth of the matter is that there are still lot's Jordan Belfort's out there preying on the sentiment and the life-long dream of the small investor to hit the jackpot.

IMHO, the market is rigged folks. I don't care what a Morgan Stanley analyst tells you, buying TSLA at these levels is destined to make you lose. Yes, there is a chance that AAPL or GOOG may want to buy TSLA and yes, there is a chance that TSLA discovers the battery that makes you go 500 miles with one charge, however today's reality is that TSLA's stock is way too high base on everything we know and my felling is that some people, probably the ones who can less afford it, are going to be hurt. Long or short, this is gambling folks!

  • This is just insane!

  • Is the free-charging honeymoon over for EV owners? It depends where you look..

This week over in the US, Aerovironment, the company responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of Washington State’s West Coast Electric Highway, gently reminded EV owners in the state that come April 1, using the DC quick charge stations along Interstate 5, US route 2 and Interstate-5 would cease to be free.

rom that date, customers will have the option of paying $20 a month for unlimited EV charging station access, or pay $7.50 per charging event.

Over this side of the pond, UK-based Chargemaster reiterated its own plans to introduce a tiered tariff system for EV owners wanting to use its network on the same day, noting that existing members could choose to sign up to one of the tariffs or let their membership expire. Like the West Coast Electric Highway, Chargemaster plans to offer pay-as-you-go options for non-members, although no pricing has been set for this or the tariffs.

  • Tesla, a great vehicle with a lot of potential, but it's just a fad. Green subsidies will not last too much longer and with others entering the EV market, like BMW and Mercedes, it's only a matter of time before TSLA's stock comes down to reality. The price of a Tesla without subsidies is way too high and when these subsidies end it will hurt sales, big time.

    $100 per share, yes.
    $211 per share, NO WAY!

Love the car, but came on folks, it's still just a car!

  • Oh wait... isn't that someone else's slogan?

  • “charge rage”—is becoming increasingly common, especially in northern California, where PG&E expects electric vehicle (EV) ownership to jump from 20,000 today to 800,000 by 2020. Workplaces that offer charging stations — an assumed perk in Silicon Valley (along with stock options and on-site sushi chefs) — can’t keep up with rising EV ownership rates.

AVAV will definitely benefit from this, as currently there no enough EV charging stations for all these EV buyers. As I stated before, I believe that AVAV will split into two companies, one the EV Chargers and the other the UAS. I also believe that at least one of them will be acquired in the very near future. EV and UAS are the future and THE FUTURE I$ HERE NOW!
