Whats your source for saying they have 8% of the battery market?
Telsa doesnt even make batteries, they buy cells from Panasonic and assemble
modules. Also, confused as to how they could have anywhere near 8% this year with
competition from over two dozen manufacturers?
BYD, Enphase Energy, Alevo, Sunverge, BMZ, NEC Energy Solutions, Johnson Controls, LG Chem, Samsung, Saft, GE and Mitsubishi might have just a little more experience in this area than Tesla.
Curious as to why Musk would tout tomorrows product announcement as far back as he did?
Is there an advantage to trying to peak the stock price in advance of the earnings report?

Porsche will be one of the reasons Tesla is unable to make a profit with EVs. The other reasons are Nissan, Renault, Ford, BMW, Audi, VW, GM, Hyundai, Kia, Toyota, Honda, BYD and Mercedes

What if you built an EV
and no one came
could you change the business
but not change the name?
build a battery
and power your house
lose even more money
but not be a louse?
It appears Elon is willing to sell at a loss to prove a market. Tesla appears willing to lose a lot of money doing this on the hope that the gigafactory will turn things around.
A DCLA battery is designed to discharge between 50% and 80% depending on the manufacturer and construction of the battery. Although these batteries can be cycled down to 20% charge, the best lifespan vs cost method is to keep the average cycle at about 50% discharge, as there is a direct correlation between depth of discharge on your battery and the number of charge and discharge cycles it can perform
... major advantage of lead acid is that 97% of the lead is recycled.
Not sure where we stand with li-ion?
My problem with Elon is that he thinks everyone else is a total fool and cant see past his brilliance.
His latest scam is laughable when you look at the numbers.
