Whats your source for saying they have 8% of the battery market?
Telsa doesnt even make batteries, they buy cells from Panasonic and assemble
modules. Also, confused as to how they could have anywhere near 8% this year with
competition from over two dozen manufacturers?
BYD is building several battery gigafactories also. Their isnt much that Tesla does that isnt being done by someone else. BYD is one of three EV manufacturers currently outselling Tesla.
Tesla bought rights to the Segway Transportation System. FIts right in with their current products and uses same batteries as the Model S.
Musk is a genius.
z28, did this just happen Friday?
Nissan, Mitsubishi, and BYD are already outselling Tesla, and there's two dozen other manufacturers that are also players.
Good point, net debt is what is important, and that's about $1.2 Billion Looks like cash from operations has dropped precipitously over the last 5 quarters while debt has risen quickly over the last 4 quarters. That makes one really ugly looking chart.
Total Cash (mrq): 645.40M
Total Debt (mrq): 1.81B
Book Value Per Share (mrq): -3.63

First thing to pop up in the search list is FBI fraud page warning about such things as Ponzi schemes.
Thought that was interesting and some of you might get a kick.
Found an article:
The Herbalife Ice Cube Has Almost Melted: Presenting "Cash From Operations" by Tyler Durden
" We repeated the same rhetorical question last quarter, when nothing had changed, and in fact things got even worse.
Moments ago, Herbalife just reported Q4 and full year results, which from 30,000 feet (preferably literally) were ok, with the company smashing non-GAAP EPS expectations:
•HERBALIFE REPORTS 4Q ADJ. EPS $1.41 , EST. $1.22
That, however, was the only good news. Because the future is no longer so bright for the multi-level marketer, which however suddenly has huge problem not because it is an alleged Ponzi, but because it is being crushed by, drumroll, the strong dollar.
•HERBALIFE SEES 2015 EPS $4.10-$4.50, SAW $6.10-$6.40
•HERBALIFE SEES 1Q NET SALES DOWN 12.5% TO DOWN 15.5%
•HERBALIFE SEES 2015 ADJ. EPS $4.10 TO $4.50, EST. $5.08
•HERBALIFE SEES 2015 SALES DOWN 6%-9%
In other words, on both a GAAP and non-GAAP basis, the magic is over.
As for shareholders, especially those who are long and are looking to take advantage of any short squeeze to get out of the stock, this may be the best time to quietly get out of dodge, because as we warned the ice cube has now almost melted. "
That is probably the most telling of where this stock is headed. Even the cheerleaders are experiencing fatigue. The tales just getting harder and harder to buy into.
Doesnt help that the competition is relentlessly making announcements indicating competing products are either here now, or coming soon.
BYD has a gigafactory being constructed. Volvo, Mercedes, etc are working on autonomous vehicles and are in some aspects ahead of Tesla.
Tesla goes backward if the Gen 3 cant compete on the world market, and that gets more and more unlikely every day.
$291 to $198
Throw out some more numbers to distract from whats happening.
or have Elon Tweet.
or announce a second gigafactory
anything to avoid talking about the competition that Tesla is facing.
