Net income DOWN 30% yoy..WOW what a blow. Going to $0.50 or less. Where is this so-called "buyout" ????? This thing smells like FRAUD to me all over the place...sorry for the honesty.
Adjusted ebitda down 19% yoy, adjusted net debt up 14% (net debt/ebitda now at 3.75x haha!!!), margins down even further, net income is almost non-existent, outlook very modest...basically yet another ATROCIOUS report. IF they end up with that acquisition they're planning, this company is 100% BANKRUPT. Expect the stock to be in the mid $2's very soon following this disaster LOL!!!!!!
this is already considered penny stock levels. thats why many funds HAVE to sell as they cant hold junk stocks trading below $5 per share (not all of them have this by-law though). Anyway, something really bad is going on with this company and clearly the retail investors will be left holding the bag, as it usually happens in these kind of situations. $2's are coming shortly, followed by pennies and a de-listing to the pink sheets or a reverse split...either way this stock is DONE. thanks SID!!!!
he's right man, even though this thing may not even be worth $3, which is where it will be in the next market crash, in the short term theyre gonna take it over $20...maybe even to $30, who knows...almost all highly shorted overvalued pos "social media" stocks have SURGED on their earnings reports after announcing huge losses alongside "revenue growth". I'm sure they'll create a massive short squeeze on this one as well (take a look at angi and yelp after their recent "earnings" reports).
Funds are bailing the heck out of here, looks like Bk will soon begin to be priced into this equity. Future seems clear here, a slide below a buck and then a reverse split. Pretty sad how this management has COMPLETELY destroyed any belief in this company. What are they THINKING???? trying to acquire another major asset when this company is in a freefall. It looks like this is a company made for the benefit of management and the board, NOT for the benefit of its true owners (shareholders)...but then again, the concept of "ownership" in Brazil seems to be completely non-existent. Nice lesson for the investors here, avoid these emerging market scams at all cost in the future (after this stock gets wiped out and thousands of US investors lose their hard earned money on this scam).
analyst price targets are COMPLETELY worthless...stay away from this BK #$%$, its going much lower.
Thanks for the info. Im surprised its only down this much today and am also surprised more of the bullish folks on this boards arent worried about this. To me this seems like a purely speculative gamble at this juncture rather than a "value" investment.
Hi, I just started doing my dd on this stock and just have a quick question that you guys may know right away. looking at the most recent balance sheet I see a "short term debt financing" line with $47.8 million that they owe. Does anyone know when this debt is due? Clearly it is within the next twelve months but Im wondering if its any sooner than that? If they have to pay it back within hte next few quarters, I just dont see how they would do that with negative cash flow and almost no cash, meaning another capital raise through a stock sale leading to dilution...Any insights into this debt situation? Thanks in advance.
no one gives a sh@t, see you in the $2's shortly!!!!
I thought BBY was a fantastic buy in the low teens. Wrong call on that one. Just like I thought SNE was (and still is) a good turnaround story. BKS is a dying business...two different stories.
thats great. What will this ebitda be in a few years when they close 50% of the bookstores as the revenue continues dropping due to market share losses to the digital bookstore space? And what will happen to the college bookstore division when all courses move online and students will be reading pdf's on their Kindles rather than carrying physical books in their backpacks? And what is NOOk worth when they cant take market share from Kindle because of a lack of its ecosystem (too late to the game now) and the unit continues to generate losses? Looks like you're not looking forward at all, but stuck in the present and looking at the past numbers. Either way, MSFT, IF they take over NOOk will be writing a billion off in a few years, as theyre used to doing with their past experiments, such as the Zoon and soon to be the Windows phone...and the BKS bookstores will continue to close down as more of my generation people move over to the digital book and more of your generation folks are gone...
watch and learn rookie.
core bookstore business is worth ZERO as it is a dead, declining business that will soon be irrelevant. NOOK will also be dead as it cannot compete against Kindle and Apple tablets. Effectively, the short story is very clear here. Practice may be showing something different. MSFT in a desperate attempt to find growth avenues may buy a dying NOOK business that is losing money and dropping revenue for an absurd valuation.
just wondering if this is a cruel joke or are you a dumb #$%$?
"good value" based on what?? this may still be OVERvalued...
this is pure wishful thinking. Just accept the fact that its moving lower in the short term man. The guy above is correct, amove back to the high $8's low $9's is pretty much imminent here. The market has decided where its moving,a nd the direction for the next few months is DOWN, not up. So stop drinking cool aid and look at the action objectively here. Missing revenue estimate was a more important blow to the stock than beating on the bottom line. They have been missing revenue froa while now, giving us BS excuses (such as weather this time around LOL)...this thing is done for a while, unless you're a long term investor (5-10 year horizon), I suggest to move on to greener pastures from here.
I dont get it, whats your point? They have over a BILLION in long term debt plus pension obligations...the equity is worth ZERO here at this point.
its a huge drop for a whole week already not just today. Clearly, someone knows of the disaster theyre about to release next week. Things must have turned very much to the negative for the company's operations. I'm guessing we'll see the $1's next week after they release a huge loss instead of the "anticipated" small positive eps. This may be a very nice value trap, but too early to tell, I guess.
sure, it will be at $2 or below by then....
Im NOT promoting anything. Someone asked me for ONE stock that trades below $4 and pays a dividend, did they not?? I named you one since they think its so freakin rare roflmao!!!! And btw, had you bought CIM last year you would have made CHEDDAR!!!!! Unlike idiots that bought this BK trash and are losing their shirts LOL!!!
