Obama outlaws ammunition by executive order!

    The consequences of concealed carry...

Michigan police say a woman who shot herself in the eye on New Year's Day was adjusting a handgun in her bra holster when the weapon accidentally discharged.

Christina Bond, 55, was taken from her St. Joseph, Mi., home to a nearby hospital and then airlifted to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, where she died the next day.

"She was having trouble adjusting her bra holster, couldn't get it to fit the way she wanted it to," "She was looking down at it and accidentally discharged the weapon."
An Idaho mom who was accidentally shot to death by her 2-year-old son in a Walmart was carrying the weapon in a new purse designed to conceal it and given as a Christmas gift by her husband.

"It was designed for that purpose — to carry a concealed firearm," the victim's father-in-law Terry Rutledge told the Washington Post. "And you had to unzip a compartment to find the handgun."

Veronica Rutledge, 29, was shopping Tuesday morning with her son and three nieces in Hayden, Idaho, when the young boy somehow fired the fatal shot from the small-caliber handgun.

"An inquisitive 2-year-old boy reached into the purse, unzipped the compartment, found the gun and shot his mother in the head,"

It will be interesting to look back in ten years and see how many criminals have been shot due to expanded concealed-carry laws vs. how many innocent people have been shot.

There is no executive order. You should stop listening to Liars like Limbaugh:

"the ATF proposed a ban on "green tip" ammunition in February 2015, President Obama was not involved through executive action of any description. The ATF described the proposal as the result of a long-term examination, several years in the making, of whether the ammunition fit the criteria for an exemption for sporting purposes."

    Can We Impeach Now?

Republicans are too scared and lazy to try it.

Why are they afraid to try? Why so cowardly?

Could it be that they know the grounds for impeachment are all lies, and an actual impeachment would show them to be Liars?

Reagan - First President to preside over changing the US from the World's largest Creditor nation to the World's largest Debtor Nation.

When Reagan took office the US was the World's largest Creditor nation.

When Reagan left office the US was the World's largest Debtor Nation.

Reagan never once SUBMITTED a balanced budget.

    Not ONCE.

Big Business, like meat packing and corporate farming, love cheap illegal workers. That's why Reagan and Bush didn't stop it.

    FRED BARNES..Why Romney Will Win

Enthusiasm. It matters enormously, and it’s disproportionately on the Republican side, in good measure because of an intense desire to defeat President Obama. True, enthusiasm doesn’t guarantee an edge in turnout, but it’s certainly a key indicator. “In these final days, turnout is driven by intensity,” says Republican pollster Ed Goeas. The nearly half the electorate that strongly disapproves of Obama’s performance in office “will need little else other than the opportunity to vote against President Obama to motivate them to go to their polling place.” Goeas conducts the bipartisan Battleground Poll along with Democrat Celinda Lake.

In 2008, self-identified Democrats led Republicans in turnout by seven percentage points. Gallup’s projection is that Republicans will have a 49-46 percent edge this year. “The political environment and the composition of the likely electorate strongly favor Governor Romney,” Goeas says. The Battleground Poll’s “vote election model” projects Romney with 51 percent.

Ground game. The Obama get-out-the-vote drive (GOTV) is not quite the powerful juggernaut it was in 2008 and the Republican effort is far better than four years ago. The Republican National Committee isn’t alone this time. Americans for Prosperity and a coalition of a dozen conservative groups—from the National Rifle Association to the Republican Jewish Coalition—have put together a massive GOTV effort focused on swing voters in key states. They’ve averaged 1.8 million phone calls per day in recent days.

Then you have a very poor memory...

  • slabfull slabfull Jan 15, 2015 5:53 PM Flag

In 1986, only 30% knew that Roe v. Wade was the Supreme Court decision that ruled abortion legal more than a decade earlier. In 1991, Americans were asked how long the term of a United States senator is. Just 25% correctly answered six years. How many senators are there? A poll a few years ago found that only 20% know that there are 100 senators, though the number has remained constant for the last half century (and is easy to remember). Encouragingly, today the number of Americans who can correctly identify and name the three branches of government is up to 40%.

Polls over the past three decades measuring Americans' knowledge of history show similarly dismal results. What happened in 1066? Just 10% know it is the date of the Norman Conquest. Who said the "world must be made safe for democracy"? Just 14% know it was Woodrow Wilson. Which country dropped the nuclear bomb? Only 49% know it was their own country. Who was America's greatest president? According to a Gallup poll in 2005, a majority answer that it was a president from the last half century: 20% said Reagan, 15% Bill Clinton, 12% John Kennedy, 5% George W. Bush. Only 14% picked Lincoln and only 5%, Washington.

And the worst president? For years Americans would include in the list Herbert Hoover. But no more. Most today do not know who Herbert Hoover was, according to the University of Pennsylvania's National Annenberg Election Survey in 2004. Just 43% could correctly identify him.

Yeah, a good percentage of the population are not very smart. Did you know that Opinion polls taken in various locations have shown that between 6% and 20% of Americans believe that the manned moon landings were faked?

And you expect the general populace to answer questions about the economy correctly?

on the whole, the stock market has performed better under Democratic presidents than under Republicans. Much, much better. The average monthly return under Democrats was 0.73 percent versus 0.38 percent for Republicans, and Democrats posted an average yearly return of 15.31 percent against 5.47 percent for their political counterparts.
