I wonder if the big shorties have instant trade data that can identify which sales are short covering. So if a certain high percentage of transactions are short covering they know the equity is spiking and will probably settle down so they can cover at a less expensive level. In this way it keeps them from panic buying and feeding the squeeze. Like this morning.
I wonder how anyone could make the case to short it, even the techie chart readers would have to recognise the bullish patterns. A chart reader is the only one who could short, because anyone who shorts on fundamentals would have gone the other way. They did not even protect themselves with otm call options, as the open interest in not high enough..
That must have been a chump-change gamble by Daddy Bigbucks. Probably paid .05 and asking .15.
I thought it would rise to 5.xx before launch. Better if it hits five before lunch.
How many options and long shares do you have in your launch bucket?
[I don't "rally" want to know]
There are about 9million shares short yet. Maybe a million get covered today.
What do you think of the timing of the CC?
After the market close there is not much chance to cover a short with the limited extended hours and the stock will probably gap up in the morning and roughly hold.
The shorts only chance is to cover now or to short more after a gap up and work the volume.
... which makes borrowing of shares even harder... making my broker very rich on my holdings.
Yes, it means Motley Fool will let anything print. They are worse than Seeking Alpha with editorial control.
Motley prints too much garbage to even sift though for the rare gem.
Their last attack was not effective in driving the price down alla-LINE, but I do believe it has injected enough pause to keep it from rising.
At 28 I would sell them all and replace with a long strangle of calls/puts for 1.50/share.
Same thing is now happening with HERO. A tute stepped in today and burned the shorts for about a million shares.
I always wonder why they waste so much energy on losing games.
The author of the article on SA today said he thought most of the buyers are retail.
I dunno about that. I think some hedgies hold tracts and they have an exit plan.
Or there is a secret residual at the end and the price will never go below 3.
I've had him on ignore for two years now so I never see what he says, but the boy has to have a sense of humor to stick around, take all that abuse and his never ending negativity.
He's got to be a professional actor playing the role for this board. The Coen Brothers will use him as a character in one of their movies.
