Harrison stated in no uncertain terms that he sees the situation exactly as I do.....but what would he know?
That you longs can get out with some of your capital at all is really surprising....Right now, there are 'greater fools' willing to take your toilet paper off your hands...make sure you scrub with soap afterwards..
Baseball players become multi-millionaires hitting .350 --- not 1.000. And many cheated to do even that.
Carl has struck out. A lot.
The Queen of Quebec, now in the middle of a new drive to secession, demands that re-routing the tracks around Lac Megantic, a cost of $175 million (which in non-government / real money would be almost certainly 35 or 40 percent more than that) must be paid by the Canuckistan feds.
Economic value of the town of Lac Megantic? Practically nothing. Crass, opportunistic political value of Lac Megantic? Billions.
Hear ye, Hear ye......Let us all immediately ignore any impact the weather has had on delaying and impeding timely transportation. Your government does not recognize nor tolerate such reality, being as this government itself is nothing if not ruthlessly efficient and efficient at all times.
In its wisdom, your government long ago imposed a fixed grain revenue cap on each of these evil railways, effectively removing any economic incentive to improve or enhance this service for their customers whatsoever. It has been said that capping annual grain revenue for railways also has the logical impact that in "bumper crop" years such as this one, moving grain actually becomes a LESS profitable business for railways, all other things being equal.
Please don't thank us for such genius public policy...we're just doing our job!
And now, it is with deep surprise that we your fearless leaders must announce additional punishments to these evil railways. They must learn to move more volume faster in bitingly cold Arctic weather (...while remaining 100% safe, of course!) and to neglect the priority of making money so that grain farmers are treated with utmost concern.
If not, we will fine them into the stone age.
