For the second straight day CLF's stock has outperformed the Dow Jones. Things may be looking up.

Rio Tinto recently discussed its Canadian operations. Four alternatives were put on the table. 1. Continue current operations. 2. Slow down current operations. 3. Find new partners. 4. Cancel projects. I believe any of the last three might be beneficial to CLF. Canada is in Cliffs backyard. Perhaps Rio would invite CLF in as a new partner. If the terms were favorable to CLF, it could be a good move.

And today COH is down as the Dow Jones is up 40 to another all time high.

If construction is on the rise, why would iron ore go to 100?
Sentiment: Buy
CLF stock was selling for 100. Now its 24.50.The Dow Jones is hitting new highs. The economy is recovering. Building (construction) is on the rise. Interest rates are low. Why is CLF such a poor performer at this point in time.
Sentiment: Buy
Amazing. One of the most impressive stock price rises I have seen for an established industrial dividend paying company.
COH is selling closer to its three year low than its three year high today as the Dow Jones average set an all time high. That says it all.
Are CLF's Canadian iron ore mines "high cost"?

why do they want to sell their iron ore holdings in Canada?

Today BMO Capital lowered CLF from outperform to market perform. This is the same agency that on October 26, (when CLF was at 36.49,) raised CLF to outperform. Since one should obviously do the opposite of whatever BMO Capital recommends, this must be the bottom of CLF's recent stock descent.
Sentiment: Buy
Seems reasonable to me.

Your posts usually reflect facts as well as insight on the CLF board. Your posts seem to portray more optimism about CLF than many other posters, yet you remain a "hold" on CLF. Am I misreading optimism in your postings?

Bloomberg reported that "China is creating large mining companies that will be able to compete with global mining conglomerates for acquistions of foreign companies." So China is looking to buy miners. China, I have just the bargain for you. Right here in Ohio.

No reply ? You've posted on this board some twenty minutes after my post. Why no response?

You are posting that CLF needs 170 per ton to break even. Three months ago you were posting a break even point as low as 125. Since Dec. CLF has slashed the dividend and has undertaking a major resrtructuring. It has issued new stock. In view of the above, why do you believe the break even price has gone up by as much as 45 dollars in the last three months? It seems to me that due to the above named factors, if anything, the break even price should have dropped.

Maybe they did nail the bottom then.
