Wow, this is amazing that anyone would take the above post seriously, you did read the 4th quarter earnings transcript didn't you! So much for humor, OK, I'm out of here. The message board is all yours.

This is actually quite disconcerting seeing our 14% April run rate reduced to 8%. We'll know soon enough, but I was hoping for a 15 or 15% April run rate to give us good forward guidance when 1st quarter results are reported. I hate to hear the end of April slowed on our conference call.

I found it rather amusing that it would be reported in the news that an anonymous source reported that LVS was considering a special dividend given that LVS had reported with their annual results that the return of capital to their shareholders was one of their four strategic objectives. So, of course LVS is discussing one of their four strategic objectives. That's what management is charged with doing.

Feel free to put me on ignore if you feel I've lost credibility. I'm not big for posting my brokerage's reports. I just don't feel good when I steal something.

Well, then again, per LVS 1st quarter 2012 report:

Our strong balance sheet and cash flow position the company to simultaneously:
    1. Pursue promising growth opportunities around the world
    2. Invest in high return projects for continued organic growth
    3. Return capital to shareholders

    So, who knows?

No bump in the dividend and no special dividend for the first quarter although the return of capital is the 4th of our 4 stated objectives. See the post by MrTaxx detailing our project pipeline which precludes increasing our just increased dividend (.25 to .35).

Not sure we can substantially beat our good knight's 70 cent estimate, but if we do, I would wager to guess the CNY played well for us, meaning that VIP for all Macau was displaced to MBS and to some extent to Las Vegas while mass dominated the month giving us the Slot/ETG/Mass Table margins (see prior post).

Of course, hold is an unknown, but I'm not seeing the above fact considered in any estimate.

Notes on the Margin by SEA, 4/22/2013:

VIP baccarat tables - 10 to 12 percent margin
Premium mass tables - 42 percent margin
    Mass-market tables - 45 percent
    Slots/ETG - 48 percent margin.

My apologies, I leaked the information that the special dividend was being considered last week. And in an attempt to make up for that disclosure, I want to pass on the additional following insider information as earnings are around the corner and this information will be pertinent:

In addition to management discussing the return of capital to shareholders, they are also discussing delivering organic growth from our existing portfolio of properties, delivering additional growth through new investments in our current markets and identifying new integrated resorts development opportunities in geographic areas outside our current markets.

I feel much better now having confessed leaking our stated strategic objectives last week. I hope everyone can accept my apologies.

    As of April 14, 2013:

    SJM 25.5%
LVS 23.3% (my note, prior month 20.6%)
    Galaxy 17.7%
    MPEL 15.4%
    WYNN 10.7%
    MGM 8.5%

Our rumble in the jungle helped per our good Knight.

Too busy and frustrated to post, but knew I had to share.

Well, cumulatively we're at 14.8% so far this year and mid-teens is 15% in my opinion, so Tracy is really going out on a limb here.

Trial not going well for LVS, Weidner wins,

I think that's why Sheldon's attorney got Shelly to make his railroad track comment. They're trying to communicate that Sheldon was a "very common man at one time", just like the jurors.

I tried to post the entire article in three sections, but no love from Yahoo. At least the first section posted and the entire article is available if Googled. I also enjoyed the later article, "Former Sands exec turns on Adelson in testimony" and given his testimony, paraphrased, "Weidner made the offer and per Weidner, Suen performed valuable services and deserves compensation" and it's a civil trial, I'm not too sure LVS wins if the jury can decide partial compensation was deserved. If the jury only decides yes or no the license was delivered and payment is due on delivery, Suen is out in the cold.

Billionaire casino mogul Sheldon Adelson looked relaxed. His arm was slung over the back of the courtroom witness chair in the cozy manner of a guest on an afternoon talk show. He was dressed impeccably in a gray business suit, blue shirt and red- and-white tie, but the look on his face was purely personal, a grandfather telling a story.

He talked about his impoverished Boston childhood, his parents fresh off the latest boat of immigrants. "I could have been a rags-to-riches story," he said, smiling, congenially facing the jury. "But my parents couldn't afford the rags." Jurors smiled unconsciously.

Moments later, guided by the soft questioning of his attorney, Adelson, 79, hit them with another one-liner that would have made Henny Youngman proud: "I came from the other side of the tracks. In fact, I came from so far on the other side, I didn't know the tracks existed."

For two days last week, one of the world's richest men had been an adverse witness, a man on the defensive, cross-examined by a pacing lawyer representing a former gaming consultant who says that Adelson, chief executive of the Las Vegas Sands Corp. casino empire, owes him $328 million in a breach of contract.

Adelson, a stalwart Republican and defender of Israel who, with his wife, donated nearly $100 million to GOP candidates in last year's elections, had been summoned to testify. His appearance drew onlookers to the courtroom eager for a glimpse of a reclusive tycoon whose worth reportedly exceeds $26 billion.

What greeted them was no Perry Mason courtroom scene -- no nail-biting drama. This was a nuts-and-bolts civil litigation case in which the clock moved so slowly at times it seemed to go backward.

But it was also an affair marked by occasional humor from an unlikely source: Adelson himself.

    Las Vegas February Numbers

    by mtv42001 Apr 10, 2013 10:16 AM
    southeast.asia@rocketmail.com southeast.asia Apr 10, 2013 6:57 PM Flag

The full article stated the Las Vegas strip witnessed a 31.2 % increase in February while another analyst noted that the increase was attributable to February CNY Chinese mainland VIP. The observation supports the premise that Macau's February VIP, which was clearly displaced by mass (from the pictures of Macau CNY, some of the streets were not even passable) was indeed displaced to other venues.

We've speculated that Macau CNY VIP was displaced to MBS and this article certainly supports that contention. I don't want to get excessively exuberant about the 1st quarter, but who knows, maybe it will be good. My bet is still on 2nd quarter and I'll just have to bide my time spending the dividends.

Wow, that's impressive to note hold, the "(poor hold)" was my comment. If I had to do it over again, I'd write (poor hold I believe) which would have been more precise. Again, good catch, but in my defense, it's semantics not substance.

You have to read the post really carefully, but it's in there I promise.

And thank your for all your posts, I appreciate hearing from someone with on the ground Macau experience. Are you still going to Macau this year?
