management who participate in these plans cannot just arbitrarily stop selling their shares even if good news might be coming. If they stopped the selling and a takeover happened the management would be blamed for inside information. My guess is that insider sales will have minor to no effect on the bullish chart of ACHN
Usually a print like that means that 14.92 was the average price paid for shares bought during the day but printed at the end of day. Still significant as it was one buyer-GILD?
For me the key reason to own the stock is the significant ownership by Adage in ADXS. They would not be involved in a fraud and they obviously see the potential in their scientific approach. So far no insider has sold despite the recent run up (usually insiders sell if they see a steep price increase. A lot of recent hot "bio names like BLCM, Juno, etc have had corrections. I would not bet against Adage!!!
It is not the end of the world they have at least 10 major portfolios. Adaptix is one of them, but I would expect for Acacia to refile as this is just a summary decision and not a jury verdict.
A good short never advertises. As long as we have big volume the bulls will win. On low volume the shorts can manipulate. I think 15 is in the bag for next week if the overall market is flat to positive.
I was at the Pats game last night, miserable weather but a great performance by defense and offense. We will beat Seattle as their offense is one dimensional (run) and the defense is good but the Pats offense is better (IMO). I think the Pats win 24-13.
Good chance that Lance Shaner will take the company private if he can work something with the debt holders.
I agree I am in since the IPO. I see you are also into ACHN. What do you think of JUNO?
Thank you for your intelligent comments. I too am holding. I think a GILD buyout of ACHN is very probable.
I will comment on the last point. Almost always in small companies (in terms of employees) the stock options fully vest in case of control of ownership. I do not know the specifics of ACHN's stock options agreement.
ACTG is still being controlled by the short sellers although at times it appears that they are beginning to cover. We need more announcements and more volume. Maybe the catalyst for the shorts will be a close above 20?
Some technician said 21.30 first then 25. I expect the first level next week, a few really big settlements in the next 4-6 weeks could push it to the mid 20s. What we need is volume, volume, volume. Expect a very light day on Friday but we should start seeing volume as the shorts get nervous over the next 2-3 weeks. My guess is the big boys will start lightening up at around 25.
There have been steady announcements of settlements recently. It looks like a decent quarter is in store for December 31st, plus 9.6 million shorts adds up for a decent move. This move is not yet over as the covering is only beginning. I look for more announcement of some significance in the next few weeks.
First decent day of volume in a long time. This is a short week, so shorts can try to feast on it. Wednesday and Friday will be light volume so look for shorts to manipulate and keep it around 18.50 so no new high. But next week with continued announcements we should move through 20.
We had two great settlements with NEC. As I have said before Adaptix is one of Acacia's key portfolios and a 25-30 million settlement is likely. We should continue to see great settlements into the end of the year and potentially a great quarter. Now, all we need is volume and we are over 20!!!
W are still waiting for news on the nuc 3422 study. Results could be announced any day. If the results are very positive then a buyout is a real possibility. The price fluctuation is accentuated by the program traders. I would just sit tight.
The company has never made a profit and unlikely that it will be profitable for a long time. The top line is slowing, expenses are growing and when the lock up institutional investor shares occurs in 4-5 months the stock will easily be cut in half. I have no position in the stock as of yet.
The settlements with MSFT and Samsung were for $30 million each, so maybe this one is similar. Now we should have a big announcement in the health care area. Over 18.50 we should move quickly to 20 in my opinion. All we need now is some volume.
We will open higher and on good volume. Even though Saturday's news is not the "big one", I think Dr. Gane's statement is key to the potential of the current nuc study. A move to 12 is very possible.
We have been hovering around 18 since the last earrings report a few weeks ago. The volume for the most part has been modest as investors await some significant announcements. The shorts are pros and they are working hard to keep the price around current levels but a few significant announcements perhaps one each from the Adaptix, medical , and energy portfolios could push the stock to the $20 level. Then I think we could have the beginnings of a short covering rally.
