Interesting Clrodrick. Perhaps it could Tweet? This morning's Times edition (perhaps we should call it Trib) was all of 38 pages. A recent edition was 36, the lowest page count in over half a century, back when the conservative Chandler family published a powerhouse product. Their financial coverage was all of 1 1/4 pages including a story about a Pennsylvania manhunt and (the best part) Dilbert.

My how the mighty hath fallen.

They're trying hard to make up for it with their digital edition which is pretty flashy but the search portion is still sub par. And they still haven't recognized that journalistic partisanship (Hello Chicago) is a major cause of their decline. Bye Bye advertisers.

Today's 9 1/2 page (huge for them) sports section had only 22 column inches of advertising. Even some of the comics are now so small one needs a mag glass to read 'em. But they're in color, for some reason, and that probably makes it more interesting for the birds.

    Sentiment: Hold

This is a very quiet board but perhaps some one has some insight here.

Have been drawing 6K a year in preferred dividends and am now faced with the prospect of reinvesting 75K in something to replace that. To buy the new preferred will bring $5300 which is close. To buy the common will bring $1700, but there is the prospect of an increasing dividend and growth of capital which the preferred does not offer.

What does the board think future common dividends over the next 2 years will be?

What does the board think the growth of common shares over the next 2 years will be?

I have my own predictions but they are pure speculation and am wondering what some of you more savvy GPT guys think.

I'd like to keep the funds with GPT but may have to go elsewhere as the cash flow is used to send several grand kids to college.

    TIA for any serious thoughts.

I'm an investor in long term with a basis of 6.01. A what profit point do you think that AAL should begin to consider paying a dividend? Or Buybacks?
