  • November is when they historically hike the dividend. I'm thinking it should go to .85 from .81. That will again send it back towards $100. $93 a good entry point to increase. Even at $95 that would still be over 3.5% yield. Harder and harder to find safe yields nowadays.

Where is the bottom on SNH

IF anyone is actually watching TNX, the 10 year government bond rate, today it is 2.2%. We seem to be headed to zero %. Socialists get to borrow trillions for free. Print and borrow for free.

  • Plus decent dividend. When a dividend hike finally comes, will pop higher from there too. All medical assets rising now. Believe VTR, HCN, and OHI are still compelling values here. Fed won't even think of hiking until 2016. Scotland could leave UK, Spain could have the same problem, UK could even leave Europe, see lots of risks out there, no hikes from any Central bank, and lots of value in these medical asset stocks.

    RAS-B and RFTA volume

I see it all now. Thank you. RFTA has the maturity date when I bring up the price, RFT did not. If I were constructing RAS's website, I would list all these securities. They want them all to do well, and bring them to the attention of as many smaller investors as they can. I don't think the Fed will raise rates any time soon. US does not want a stronger dollar. All these predictions of early rate hikes are wrong. Socialist governments love to print lots of money, and borrow lots of money at Zero%. I don't see any change to that any time soon. All of these issues with a market price under par, or maturity, are a bargain. RAS common will move up again as well. Good luck all.

secondary $63.75, they just stole it all. Ridiculous when the stock is trading at $68!!

  • And with all this talk, I can't really understand why this is not $50 a share?

This company has done the right thing for years. I am up like 80% in 2 years plus dividends! Dividends increase too! I feel quite certain that everyone here on this topic, who is saying sell, has never owned a share of this company. You want the company policy to be standing out front giving out free food? This is a business, surprise, that is in business to make money, another surprise to so many, and pay owners a dividend. The policy is customers pay for food. That's it. That means if you want free food, ask Obama or the local food pantry. I am sure this company donates to local charities in their areas. They pay the fair local going rate for labor, or no one would work there, another surprise. All these Marxist, Leninist Socialists without a shred of common sense. Change jobs, move where good ones are, I have done that all my life. Cuba can use some of you people, but even they won't accept these lazy good for nothings who want $100 an hour to give out free food. Sell the shares please. I want to increase my position below $100 a share. I am sure none of you retired at an early age either. Work til death, its the socialist way, hahahaha

  • I think many BDC's are getting hit for those loans. Oil goes much lower and some marginal producers may stop working. I know TCAP has like 10% in loans somehow tied to energy. Here?

Everything appears solid to me. Yields over 6%, a safe yield that is increasing. Fed is not hiking anytime soon. Am I missing something?

MVC common stock cut their dividend quite drastically this year. Not for me. That smells like possible trouble. Better stuff out there. I invest in income securities of companies that are increasing dividends to the common stock. To me, MVC has more risk than RAS. Any more ideas?

In watching the price action since this came out, you have to wonder if they upgrade it just before they unload their entire position?!? It went straight down like a stone from atop a building! From $39 to $35.50. A 10% correction since this fabulous upgrade. Only 2 full years worth of dividends. It was almost $42 in August! I thought the price of oil has a tiny effect? Do they get paid a percent of the oil price to move product? In that case earn far less. Will there be less moving since the cost of oil is so much lower, marginal production will go down? Something more is happening than a few guys are selling. Very smart money appears to be exiting, at the exact time Wells is upgrading with a large price target. Has to make anyone wonder?? Wall street a bunch of self serving crooks.......

    RAS-B and RFTA volume

I can't find any info on RAS's website for RFT and RFTA. Why don't they take the time to discuss them? Appears very cheap if I understand correctly. RFT is a bond with an actual maturity date unlike a preferred. You get paid before any stocks and guaranteed the full $25 as long as the company still is operating. How about RFTA? You would think their website would at least address their specifics if they want more volume. Any info appreciated. Tucking these in my 401k makes sense.

  • I just bought in on Friday. Never wanted to before. History shows me this is the correct moment to invest. You have an entirely new board. You have serious experience now. You have a serious investor holding almost 9% of the float, who has a huge interest in making this company work. I have made nice money in similar situations. Long term investors, you will make money holding this, and getting a nice dividend payment to wait.

Agree. I started buying at $23.95 and slowly lowering my bid. This is great stuff for my 401k. Where can I earn near 8% with some safety and gain potential? People invest in common stocks hoping for that much a year. I can wait 10 years with these coupon rates, and unlike their preferreds, there is a fixed $25 price maturity, and a 2024 date of actual maturity. At this date we give you $25. Near 8% and a gain. There are lots of payments to securities after this bond. Many folks waiting "behind" us. A common stock and a number of preferreds. I like it, yes please, thank you. If RFTA, their 5 year paper, goes below $24, I will look at that too. Accumulate.
