Board members...NMM (yield now about 21.1%) when 'up 11.6% today' on a lot higher volume...I don't know what the deal was, but it helped make today, a daisy of a market day for me...! That said, PSEC and BDCL are also making a nice run as is LINE and SDRL (note: I do not own LINE or SDRL)...! Stagg...!
sarge...my corn and soybeans are doing great as this will be the best yields that I have ever had...however, the current prices on corn and soybeans are terrible...maybe, this a good time to buy some VLO (???)...! Keep in touch as your messages are wonderful...! Stagg...!
DH...both SFL and FRO turned great earnings (with a strong forward outlook) and they are both joined at the hip...I still find it hard to believe that they have not gone up 'a lot more' than they have...I guess some investors are slow to wake up to the current results...! That said, it looks like investors 'are starting to wake up' to the BDC's...! Stagg...!
ed...I think 'everybody is doing better than me'...at this time I am down -10.5% YTD in Total Returns, while my revenue stream from dividends is still increasing...whats is strange, is that all of my holdings are turning in good earnings (???)...! I understand 'the fear of a hurricane' hurting UVE some, but what about all of my other holdings (???)...! Stagg...!
update...today (08/27/15) I feel the markets are showing the effect of being oversold...i.e. LINE is a good example as it is up over 23% at this time and NADL is up over 32%, I would not buy either of them, but the markets are strongly suggesting that they are oversold...! I am still surprise that we do not see a bigger bounce upward in in FRO and SFL (???)...! Stagg...!
guys...it looks to me like NTI (yield about 15%) has 'a lot better yield and stronger over-all color' than MPC...the Total Returns for MPC over the last two years are 29.8% and the Total Returns for NTI over the last two years are 48.3% (NTI looks twice as good as MPC)....! Stagg...!
Board members...both SDRL and NADL turned in strong earnings...SDRL has earnings of .77 a share (18 cents a share above est.) and NADL showed a profit of 17 cents a share, both are up strong in the pre-market...it looks like a lot the JF companies are all doing fine SDRL. NADL, SFL and FRO...! Stagg...!
Board members...PSEC (yield about 14.2% and pays monthly) has turned in pretty good earnings as earnings are up 24% YOY...'way to much to digest' (and hard to understand), but PSEC is now up .28 cents a share after hours (or about 4%)...! Stagg...!
bob...as always you make some good points as k-bon has also express some concern about the SFL relationship with SDRL and the leasing of the off-shore drilling rigs which has been about 50% of the SFL revenue...
However, it appears to me, that the 'current strong increase in revenue stream' for SFL has come from 'other sources' outside of the off-shore drilling sector...which should change that percentage balance, in the revenue stream, for SFL a lot...! Stagg...!
Board members...the wise investors will always pay attention to william's posted messages as he has a 'very strong level of intelligence' on the U.S. and global markets...! Stagg...!
Board members...both SFL and FRO turned in outstanding earnings and in my opinion the stocks have responded very poorly (share price wise)...FRO is going to restore the dividend and SFL has increased the dividend some and their earnings have doubled...
The fact that SFL and FRO have not increase by at least 25% in share price value shows the 'current weakness in confidence' in the markets...i.e. when a company increases net earnings by 100% the stock should go up a lot (not a little bit)...! This may be the time to invest and get more for our money, if we are very brave, lol (Illinois basin crude oil is now $31.00 a barrel)...! Stagg...!
correction...the profit sharing between FRO and SFL (a 50%/50% split above the new time charter rates (without the previous 50 million dollar threshold) and will be calculated on a 'Quarterly basis' and not monthly (this is great for SFL)...! Stagg...!
update...the FRO Board of Directors FRO expects to resume paying quarterly dividends to shareholders in the near future from excess free cash...! Stagg...!
Board members...FRO has posted a decent profit and 'its about time', lol,...as SFL and FRO are business trade partners and joined at the hip, a bit, so this is also good news for SFL (I think that the profit sharing from FRO to SFL is now monthly, ???)...! Stagg...!
Board members...it looks to me like a lot of investors and fund managers are seeking downside protection 'early' (as they try and beat the Bloody October time frame)...September and October are usually the worst months for the markets because...i.e. children going back to school /college, catching up on credit card debit from vacations and other summer expenses, Fall property taxes and filing est. income taxes, RMD withdraws from 401-k plans, pre-holiday spending and investment funds doing more selling to lock down profits on the yearly balance sheets...to that can be added some fear of a future Fed. interest rate hike...
That said, most of the the time, the pain is over by Mid-November (but not last year)...if we can hold the line and get a decent Santa Clause Rally the future may be a bit brighter ahead (???)...again, I thought that a drop in energy prices wold be a boom for the markets and 'I was was wrong' (looks like mark had that right), as the market are starting to follow energy prices downward...the fact is, that most commodities are still crashing...I.e. corn is about $3.60 a bu. down from over $8.00 a bu. and soybeans are about $9.00 a bu. down from about $15.00 a bu.,...! There will be some market snap-backs, but the over-all trend will probably continue down for a while...! Stagg...!
gambler...I feel that both NMM and SFL are over-sold at this level...! That said, never trust my advice as nobody knows where the bottom is (???)...SFL never gets hurt much on any charter cancellations, because it cost the trade partners to do so...! Stagg...!
k-bon...'sustainable yields' are the key (I took that phrase from william), as there is already a lot of value in some holdings, at this time...! Stagg...!
