Corn Ethanol is not a partisan issue!

Board members...I will not shut up, because there is not a ethanol subsidy and there is a mandate and it is not illegal...there was a subsidy of about 45 cents gallon and it was more than taxed back at the pump (55 cents a gallon in some states)...

More, the current wholesale cost of ethanol is $1.46 a gallon and the wholesale cost of regular gasoline is $2.11 a gallon...and our government make about 50 cents a gallon at the pump when ethanol is sold...! Also, the previous subsidy went to the refinery's and not the farmers (it never was a agriculture subsidy)...! Stagg...!

    NYMT dividend

Board members...NYMT (yield about 13.7%) is my second leading portfolio gainer and I am well pleased with it and I will probably add more for portfolio balance....NMM (yield about now 15.4%) has been making a nice run upward (probably on higher BDI rates), I may have to drop some stops on NMM...! purple...first, we do not have any ethanol subsidies and when we did it was taxed back at the pump...second, without the mandate, fuel would cost a lot more and be in short supply...third, we also heard how making products in Mexico and China makes things cost less (tell that to the people that lose their jobs in the U.S.)...

More, all we heard was that we should not be using food for fuel...corn has dropped by over 50% in price (how much has food prices dropped, ???)...Bunge, Cargill, Archer Daniels and etc. are now sitting on mountains of grain that they cannot sell or use...

I am not knocking oil or natural gas, but investors need to 'get their facts straight'...i.e. "LINE would always make money because of their hedges" (which was very wrong)...fact is, LINE did not do a very good job of showing a profit when oil was priced a lot higher (so how is LINE going to show a strong profit now, ???)...! A lot of people believe something because they want to believe it, not because it is the truth...! Stagg...!

Corn Ethanol Is Worse Than Keystone

Board members...I want to remind everybody that water (a lot of water) that is used in the fracking of oil and natural gas 'can never be used again', but water that is used in ethanol production can be used again...! Why is it people always post one sided arguments (???)...

More, co2 increases food production and the amount of good farmland that has been destroyed by the production of oil is terrible...Has anybody here ever seen salt-killed ground from oil wells (???)...! Nothing in the U.S. or Canada is worst than the production of oil as far as permanent land and water damage...! Stagg...!

Board members...again, we all know that interest rates are going up, at some point in the future...ARCC has a floating interest rates from the income on their loans and should benefit from higher interest rates...my opinion is, that ARCC is a good safe play for the future and I will probably start building a position in it soon...! Board members...everybody needs to do their homework...the U.S. does not have enough refinery capacity to to produce the fuel we need 'without the additional fuel' we get from ethanol...without ethanol gasoline would cost a lot more and be in short supply...! Stagg...!

    LRE....is it a BUY?

    by rbgambler99 Jun 18, 2015 8:46 AM
    staggman99 staggman99 Jun 18, 2015 9:17 AM Flag

gambler...LRE (yield about 9.4%) has pretty decent color...i.e. the p/e is 8.1, gross margin is 82.6%, operating margin is 56.7%, profit margin is 13.6%, ROA is 5.2%, ROI is 13% and ROE is 14%...short term indicators that I use are 20% buy, medium indicators are 25% buy and the long term indicators are 67% buy with a one year target price of $8.50...support is $7.80, pivot is $7.99 and resistance is $8.18...

That said, LRE has been upgraded by Wunderlich and some feel it is the 'one of the best positioned' upstream MLP's...my opinion is, that when the worst we can do is 'break even or make ma profit' a stock is probably a good buy and if you are OK with MLP's, then LRE looks fine to me...! Note, earnings per share this year are up 201%...! Good luck on your selections...! Stagg...!

Board members...everything that is not organic is hard on us...some things that are not organic are very good for us...i.e. our medications, minerals, and etc.,...I agree that pesticides can kill (however, the bugs and rats that we kill with pesticides can kill us with different diseases)...

More, if we take away GMO crops, people 'will be starving to death' all over the world (from a lot lower global food production)...most of the worlds production of wheat, corn, soybeans and rice is now GMO...Pope Francis is a good Pope, but not a good biologist...! Stagg...!

mark...I think you would be better off if you start analyzing your holdings and 'stop analyzing me and other investors'...you seem to forget that I also posted messages on SFL, WMC, NRZ, NYMT and several others that have done fine...

My investment model 'works good for me' and I plan to stay with it...other message board members are free to make their own choices based on different posted messages and their own research...

More, I am not confuse at all, MLP's are not worth the trouble for me (I do own some MLPL and LMLP and I am 'in the money' on both of them and no K-1 to deal with) ...! Stagg...!

    STWD

    by keebon Jun 12, 2015 12:14 PM
    staggman99 staggman99 Jun 12, 2015 12:37 PM Flag

k-bon...the short, medium and long term technical indicators that I use have a 96% sell on STDW...however, 'the color is outstanding'...i.e. the gross margin is 58.9%, operation margin is 31.5%, profit margin is 85.%%, ROE is 15.8%, EPS last 5 years are up108.4%, and the one year target price is $26.04...! There is a lot more, but the over-all color is pretty decent...! My opinion is, that STWD would probably be better for a long term holding based on the current data...! Stagg...!

k-bon...first, almost all of the data we have is computer generated...second, I simply gave my reasons to agree with gambler... third, why get so upset when somebody feels a stock a not an outstanding investment (???)...fourth, if debt is income producing 'it becomes an asset'...fifth, the p/e on SDRL is 4.2 and the p/e on KMI is 47.8...! I am not here to argue or fight, but please remember that the 'earning data' speaks for itself...more, the Total Return on KMI for the last 12 months is 19.1% (how come you did not post that, ???) as it is also computer generated..! Stagg...!

k-bon...I think that Gambler has it right on KMI (yield only about 4.8%)...the debt is very high as is the p/e (KMI would have increase their earnings by 300% to bring it down to par)...there are better places with higher yields to place our invested funds...

More, KMI is a 88% sell on the short, medium and long term technical indicators that I use... plus, the ROI is 4.9%, ROA is 1.4% and the ROE is 5% (all very poor)...! I think gambler 'has it right', numbers don't lie as all of the current data is very weak...! Stagg...!
