    NEWM IS RED HOT...!

Bob...if I am not mistaken it looks like SFL's net earnings are up about 37% more in 2014 vs 2013 (I really like my SFL)...I have also been thinking about getting back into NRZ, do you think they will be affected much by a future increase in interest rates (???)...! Thanks for the feedback...! $tagg...!

  • Board members...NEWM turned strong earnings and has increased the dividend by 11%...NEWM (Yield now about 5%) is up 86% in the last 12 months in Total Returns...! I wish I had never sold it, lol...! $tagg...!

Board members...unless I have made a mistake, it looks to me like SFL's net income is up about 37% in 2014 vs 2013...! Management also seems to give pretty good forward guidance...! $tagg...!

    O/T...bought KCAP today....14% yield

mark....I agree that I gave up a lot of profit on SDRL (and I am not the only one)....now I ask, how many kept EVEP, LINE and several others after sold them and took profit...

More, what about NEWM (???) it has gone up 94% since I sold it...what about NRF (???) it has gone up 354% since I sold it...I do not pick stocks based just on yield, what ever gave you that idea...?

I am doing fine on Ford (F) and it is not a high yield holding...again, I have made my capital in last 50 years, and I have done very well...I doubt you will still be trying to make big capital gains and build assets 20 years from now...

That said, I have done very well in corn, soybeans, timber, coal leases and a lot of other things...again, I agree that I gave up a lot of profit on SDRL and I also paid cash for a new F-150 4x4 truck last year (out of 'some' of my high yields)...

I am single (got divorce when I was 36 and I am now 73), but everybody on this message board that is married can lose at least half of everything they have if their wife leave them (it happens every day to somebody)...! We should never get 'to full of ourselves' as it can change very fast...! $tagg...!

sarge...yields are not king, but Total Returns are king...NYMT is now up 18.9% YTD and 50.2% over the last two years in Total Returns...some investors think they are losing money when they are not...I strongly suggest all investors get a Total Return calculator and use it....

When the markets retreated over the last five months, my high yields helped me dollar cost average and shop for more value...the only way to shop for value when the markets crash is to rob Peter to buy Paul, unless we have a decent on-going revenue stream...

For the record, I am having 'another great day' in the markets, probably because I am doing everything wrong, lol...in all fairness to mark, he is probably still trying to grow capital...20 years from now he may be looking for revenue stream to add to his retirement income...! $tagg...!

And now the debate (lol)...board members, I thought that the yields on REIT's and BDC's are based 'on their taxable earnings' (and not their competitors in the sector); therefore, a low yield is probably a warning sign (???)...! $tagg...!

sarge...I will never try to ruin a good thing for you, I just don't like to see American jobs moved off-shore as I have seen so many of my friends suffer....

That said, it looks like apple's 'Apple Pay' is a big hit going forward and is giving Google's 'Mobil Wallet' a run for the money...apple seems to really be on top of the game...! $tagg...!

bayman...usually when earning come out after hours it is a bad sign (wow, but not this time)....! Thanks for the tip on KCAP as I need all the help that I can get...! I started to sell my CEFL (yield about 21% and pays monthly) and then it begin to do better so I added more...! $tagg...!

bayman...I think that both KCAP and NYMT will break $8.15 in the future...however, if they don't, I am fine with just collecting the current yields that are near 14%...! $tagg...!

sarge and gambler...I added KCAP to my portfolio because bayman brought my attention to it....KCAP has great color (key statistics) 'and a very nice yield'...at this time, I am up abut 4% YTD on my holdings; not real good good but maybe a nice start after a weak January...

More, bayman (even though he don't post very often) has 'a very long term record' of making really good investments and I always pay attention to his messages...! $tagg...!

sarge...I have started a new position in MLPL (I took a nice profit on it and now I am back in again at a lower share price)...oil and related industries 'will rebound' and when they do I will be adding to my current entry position in MLPL...

I have also added more to my SFL, BDCL, NMM and CEFL...I plan to start a position in HQL and maybe KCAP (very soon)...I am not happy with my ADM and NOA....however, my Ford (F) holdings have been making a nice difference....! $tagg...!

gumby...there were mostly 'ghost solders'...they took their monthly pay and paid bribes to not even be there...the reason they ran was because most units were at about 10% strength (its not hard to take an empty tank)...! ISIS always attacks soft targets...! $tagg...!

sorry guys...but I fail to see how a loss of good paying American jobs is good for the U.S.A.,...over 10,000 workers loss their jobs at Whirlpool in Evansville, Indiana when they moved operations to Mexico and Brazil (and that was a big deal)...

That said, why should off-shore companies get a better tax brake, than we do, when we pay our taxes...I retired from Whirlpool after 39.5 years and then Whirlpool moved their operations off-shore (I was lucky in get out early)...40 years from now those jobs will still be gone...

Come on guys, we send out good paying jobs over-seas, we send our young men over-seas to die for others that will not defend theirselfs, we give our food and money away to over-seas deadbeats while upper management milk more and more of the profits away for theirselfs...! Does Apple really need that little bit of extra profit that they will make from those new data centers...? $tagg...!

  • staggman99 staggman99 Feb 23, 2015 10:16 AM Flag

gumby...the battle plan is no secret, we cannot train that large of an army without everybody knowing what is going on...I have a family member that is in army intelligence and he says what you do not hear on the news is what is really important....

More, the whole Mid-East has been a bloody mess for over thousands of years and no U.S. president or American army will ever change that...when ISIS is history there will always be another problem in the 'same bloody sand and gravel
    pit'...! $tagg...!

sarge...my opinion is, that apple has 'a lot of excess cash on hand' and they can do one of two things: they can return a lot of the cash to the shareholders or they can growth their over-all business a lot bigger...it looks to me like they are choosing to keep growing the business a lot bigger as they have the 'free cash and the talent' to do it...! $tagg...!

  • staggman99 staggman99 Feb 20, 2015 10:57 AM Flag

Board members...the West does not have to fight ISIS because there is a now a ramp-up of a military force of at lest 25,000 in Iraq that is going to take the fight to them (very soon) plus, more troops are being trained in Turkey to attack ISIS in Syria and the Kurds will attack ISIS from the rear (air strikes will be on-going)......all ISIS has done in the past is attack 'soft targets' (women, children and unarmed populations)...! In 'less than a year' ISIS will be history...! $tagg...!

keebon...on all of the comparison charts that I have run (including BME, THQ and HQH), HQL seems to be the long term winner in Total Returns...HQL is up 27% in one year, 99% in two years, 163% in three years and 224% in four years and these are all Total Returns...

I don't want to give bad advice, but HQL has a great long term history and there must be a good reason for that (???)....I have sold out of all my AWLCF and I am now shopping for some future value, I plan to start a position in HQL and KCAP...plus, I will add more NMM, BDCL, F and maybe some MLPL later on...! $tagg...!
