sarge and board members... I see where Visa will have all of Costco in April of 2016 (that will be a while)...after only accepting American Express for the last 16 years, Costco is changing to Visa...most analysts now have a buy on Visa and an average target price of $294.68 (an increase of about 7.5%...my research, shows MA doing a bit better that V over the last five years and both are doing good at this time YTD...

At this time MA is up 11.9% YTD and V is up 6.6% YTD....! While V has a bright future, MA is doing a lot better 'at this time' and 'sarge continues to do fine research'...! $tagg...!

huff...I am holding LMLP and 'it has been doing fine'...LMLP (yield now about 12% and pays monthly)...is up 4.9% YTD in Total Returns...LMLP is an ex-energy 2X basket of MLP's with no K-1 to mess with...in my opinion, LMLP may be a good counter weight to the energy sectors...I also feel that a lot of funds are moving out of energy and into other sectors (which may be helping LMPL)...! I rate LMPL a buy right here and now....! $tagg...!

guru...I agree, a lot of the BDC's are making a come back...at this time I am holding BDCL (yield about 18%) and I am pleased with it, but I did have to do some dollar cost averaging on it to get into the money. (profit)..! Stagg...!

  • Board members...I am now done messing with the snow from last night and making some new tune-ups in my portfolio I sold all of my ADM as it is running 'on the slow track' and I can probably do better with those funds elsewhere...I will probably add more NMM and KCAP...then I will start some new positions in NRZ and MLPL...MLPL (yield about 11.3%) is 2X basket of a non-energy MLP holdings and has been making a nice run lately (I think a lot of funds are now leaving the energy sectors and going to other investments)...

That said, January was a bust for me but February was wonderful...I am now up over 5% YTD and my average weighted yields are now 12.2%...my average weighted yields were over 16% until I sold my AWLCF and my portfolio increased in value last month...I also have several different investment program that I check out stock on...Millionaire Blueprint (Instant stock advisor) now has a buy on NRZ, TSM and F...I don't think much of some of their sell ratings, but their buy ratings are usually pretty close to the wire...

Listen up, there are a lot of 'free and very cheap' stock program that can be had on our Apps on the cell phone...stock pickers, different charts and even some 'quick reverse' RSI stock quotes...sarge does a lot of outstanding research and I always look forward to his new ideas and the Zack ratings (Zack's is always one of the best)...I am out of energy holdings at this time, but I do have a small position in MLPL as it will shine after energy stocks hit a bottom (I do plan to add to it at some point in the far future)...

More, we need to be very careful of all energy stocks at this time...oil was $107.00 a barrel in June of 2014 and a lot of oil companies were having problems showing strong profit back then...it now take 'at least two barrels of oil' to make the same profit that it did back in June of 2014...in the future, I will try to post more de
tailed information on my research...! $tagg...!

Board members...I have CNBC on in my office all day long...I also check out stocks on Yahoo (charts, key statistics and etc.), TD Ameritrade Sink or Swim, TD Ameritrade Trade Architect, Buyupside, Dividend Investor, Morningstar ratings (and more), Millionaire Blueprint, and even checkout the RSI which may be OK for traders not real great for long term investors, I go the websites and read Press releases and earning reports and a lot more...

Some investors need get out of the office and get their boots on the ground in the oil fields and other places...if anybody want pipelines I have plenty and I also have large storage tanks on some of my farms...! My sons have a Global engineering firm with some of the best engineers in the appliance industry, it is called Envolve Engineering, in Evansville, Indiana, 'check out the website on search' (there are a lot of things that I cannot talk about, no joke)...! Good luck to all...! $tagg...!

sarge...glad you are back (I missed your messages)...it is all over CNBC about oil and the storage facilities filling up....more, I cannot believe how hard it is snowing at this time...if you do not hear from me for a few days it will be because I have loss power (I think there will be a good chance of that)...I got the snow plow and snow thrower ready to go and I will need them to get in and out (I think my ex-wife has something to do with it)...! I will be OK, as long as I don't run out of Jim Beam Black (that is the main thing, lol)....! Keep the faith and keep up the good work...! $tagg...!

k-bon...I agree that the wells that are turned off are low margin wells (but there are a lot of them)....that said, the oil news is all over CNBC and a lot of talk about storage facilities filling up...! myself, I am out of oil for a while and then I will probably swing more back into MLPL...the fact is, that LMLP has bee doing pretty good *and it is not energy related)....! $tagg...!

Board members...a stock program that I have has a sell rating on WGP...the program says the stock is presently overvalued and should be avoided, sold or shorted...more, a lot of the oil storage facilities are filling up with oil and some of the pipelines could be the next shoe to drop (???)...! $tagg...!

Board members...I am not knocking oil and oil related stocks...however, the 'Cushing Storage Facilities' are filling up very fast and when it does get full, 'the pipelines will also be affected' because some of them will be turned off or reduced a lot....

I said, a couple of months ago that some oil wells in southern Indiana and southern Illinois were being turned off (did anybody listen, now its on the news)...the fact is, that oil and oil related industries are taking another beat down...

I will continue to post messages about Total Returns and do my research, my way, because I am the master of my own destiny and my focus is not on oil related industries (at this time)...! Tip, because careful of the pipelines...! $tagg...!

    HIGHER YIELD INVESTING...!

    by staggman99 Mar 2, 2015 11:19 AM
    staggman99 staggman99 Mar 4, 2015 8:34 AM Flag

Update (about high yield investing)....if we have a portfolio of $100,000.00 and we get a progressive yield of 12% over 10 years our 'Compounded Total Returns' would have a portfolio value of $310.584.00 and after 15 years it would have a value of $547,356.00...! Just something 'for smart investors' to think about...! $tagg...!

Board members (update)...if the current share price of SFL was $16.00 a share and if SFL would continue to have a progressive yield of 10%...the 'Compound Returns' on SFL with the 'revenue stream from the yields' after 10 years would give a share price value of $41.50 and after 15 years would be a share price value of $66.84 (not bad for a $16.00 investment)...! Compound Returns Always Win...! $tagg...!

sarge...you and bayman were some of the first to help built the SFL and the AMNB message board into 'all purpose' investment board ideas...the SFL message board is still a good board, but 'a lot of newcomers' seem to only want to discuss 'oil and oil related stocks'...more, its always easy to tell when some investors are losing a lot of profit because they get nasty to other investors that seem to be doing better...if they cannot handle it, they should not be investing...

Myself, I spend about four to five hours a day researching different stocks and because of that I like to see different ideas (updates also save me more research)...there are so many message boards that have been ruined by politics, religion and self centered jerks getting personal...I love it when 'other investors brag' about their outstanding holdings, because I want to be in 'a neighborhood of winners' and not losers (I am not a jealous person)...

Investing is a game of mistakes and investors that make the least mistakes will perform the best...for some reason a lot of 'younger investors' think it is cute to pop-off and bully other people (but that don't make us any profit)...it is so sad that if we brag about some profit some people get mad and if we cry about a loss they laugh and make fun of us...! Most of us always try to show other investors respect and its a shame that some jerks will try to make the rules and get personal...! Keep the faith as the best is yet to come and 'I got your back'...! $tagg...!

sarge (aka stockpicker4us)...Yep, I know it sounded 'a bit silly' about the difference in fresh gas from other refineries, but sometimes we over look the simple things (yes, the octane is the same)...my friend from Countrymart Refinery also told me to pay attention to the smell of gasoline (sometimes older gas at the pump smells rotten)...

That said, it looks like we have 'another major snowstorm' on the way in southern Indiana and southern IIlinois (tomorrow)...every time it snows here I have a good day in the stock markets, maybe snow days are the new buy signal (joke)...! Please keep up the good work as your research is outstanding and I enjoy 'all the updates'...! $tagg...!

zbgb...she is super intelligent and usually on top of the game...however, in my opinion she has taken a strong 'beat down in principal' over the last several months (I would guess her yields are still outstanding and probably increasing)...most MLP's have taken loss...that said, MLP's that are 'not related to energy' have been doing pretty good lately....i.e. LMLP (yield about 8.3% and pays monthly) has been doing fine...! $tagg...!

    by pay.back37 Mar 2, 2015 4:08 PM

payback...I lost a lot of profit on SDRL when it dropped in share price and I no longer have a position in it, SDRL has also gone down another -23% since I sold it...I hate to give what may be bad advice (???), but I would sell SDRL or put a very close 'stop loss order' on it...myself, I like high yields and I sold my SDRL after they dropped the dividend and moved those funds into other high yield stocks...

On LINE/LNCO...I do a lot of research (I really do)...and I am surprise to see a program that I have that has a 'buy rating' on LINE/LNCO...Millionaire Blueprint has 'a buy' on LINE/LNCO for 'medium term gains'...I no longer hold LINE...however, the only holding that Millionaire Blueprint has a buy on in my portfolio, at this time, is Ford (F) for 'short term gains up to 20%'...! That said, if we had a Crystal Ball we would not need stock message boards...! $tagg...!
