DH...I agree, I also feel that high income stocks reward us better if the markets turn south, because we still have decent revenue stream flowing...! I think we will probably get a nice mid-summer rally and then that may be about it for this year...! Stagg...!
william...you make a very good point, operating cash flow is 1.65 billion dollars and 'leverage free' cash flow is -563.7 million dollars (not very good numbers)...! Stagg...!
Huff...I don't know what is up with NRZ...however, I added more today as I am still building a core position in it (about 80% there)...that said, I am not to worried as NRZ has 'fine color'..i.e. NRZ (yield about 11.4%) has a gross margin of 70.4%, operating margin of 63%, profit margin of 47.8% and a ROE of 21.8% (that is outstanding on the ROE) and a p/e of 6.5...I also feel that NRZ adds a bit of safety when they increase interest rates (target price is $18.55)...! Stagg...!
gambler...I am a long term holder of SFL and I am very well pleased with it (and SFL is a core holding)...however, as I strongly feel that SFL is on the the fast track to record profits in the future, I also feel that Zacks later upgrade may be 'a bit to much' (I really hope Zack's is right)...i.e. Zacks has raised future year estimated earnings from $1.05 a share to $1.92 a share (an increase of almost 83%)...! I will be happy if SFL does 'half that good' in the future...! Lets hope that I am wrong about some of this, lol...! Stagg...!
cliff...the reason for the post was 'to give some current data' on LINE as some investors may be interested in it...my opinion is, that there are 'higher yields and better investments' to be had in other places...I do not do options as I am a long term investor...! Some inquiring minds might want to see some real time data posted on LINE and not a bunch of Monkey Talk or non-based opinions (without any research)...! Stagg...!
Board members...a lot of investors would like to see a message about LINE (yield about 12.2%) and not a bunch of Monkey Talk...if anybody is interested, the earning data on LINE is: gross margin is 84.8%, operating margin is 45.4%, profit margin is -15.5%, ROA is -4.7%, ROI is 1%, ROE is -17,1%, EPS Q/Q -281.5%, EPS is -2.16, EPS next year is -71.3%, EPS next 5 years is -14.5% and the income is -712.3 million dollars (the forward p/e is 137.8)...
The technical indicators that I use (12 different); five short term are 60% sell, four medium term are 75% sell and three long term are 67% sell for an overall average of 72% sell...support is 9.88, pivot is 10.25 and resistance is 10.62...
My opinion is, that the over-all color is so bad that there is 'not much hope' for LINE even if oil prices keep increasing...! Stagg...!
The point is...that plants do not release co2, they produce oxygen from co2...all plants produce oxygen including corn...again, how much oxygen does oil and natural gas produce (???)...corn ethanol 'is not negative energy', if it was, it would cost more to produce it than it could be sold for...! Did you ever have Biology or Math in school (???)...! Stagg...!
k-bon...companies have stock offering to grow their business, to raise needed cash and sometimes both...I know that GLOP is on the fast track to forward growth...however, GLOP's current color 'looks a bit weak' to me (earning this year are down -44.3% and the p/e is high at 20.6)...! I wish you well and I hope that I am wrong about my opinion...! Stagg...!
Board members...people need to remember that all plants, 'including corn', use co2 as they grow and turn it into oxygen...how much oxygen does oil and natural gas produce (???)...! Stagg...!
k-bon...I am not talking about Russian exports of LNG...the fact is, that Europe gets most of their natural gas from Russia (pipelines) and GLOP is not going to change that...! I am a cheerleader also, but I don't wear rose colored glasses...! Stagg...!
Board members...anybody that is interested in a 'strong fertilizer play' should take a hard look at ICL (yield about 2.8%)...first, ICL is a major global potash (K) producer and we cannot get high crop yields without potash...ICL has very strong color at this time...first, they have just settled a strike with outstanding results, second , they completed an acquisition of Allana Potash, third, they have signed a contract to supply 885,000 tons of potash to customers in India...! To much to type, but when the worst an investor can do is 'make money or break even', a stock is a good investment...my opinion is, that ICL may double in share price over the next 12 to 18 months...! Stagg...!
sarge...there is another word for crazy people, they are called 'investors', lol...! That said, I think that I like NMM better than GLOP...with GLOP there is always the Russian factor to consider (Russia exports a lot of natural gas and they are a lot closer to the markets that GLOP is selling to)...! Stagg...!
bayman...I know many do not agree with my model of investing...however, at this time, my average weighted yield is now 15.6% in my portfolios and I am 'in the money' on all of my holdings (including a little bit on PSEC)...! The key to my model is: high yields + duration of time & compounded returns + dollar cost averaging = nice Total Returns...! I also try to research my holdings in detail...! Stagg...!
Board members...I sold some of my F for a small profit and added more NYMT and KCAP...if I had the available funds I would buy some SOYB (no yield, just guts) as I feel there is some short term profit to be made in soybeans...! That said, I am 'pretty happy' with the on-going results of my current holdings...i.e. SFL, BDCL and PSEC seem to be warning up a bit...! Stagg...!
jersey...very interesting, the best I have ever done on soybeans is 48 bu. to the acre, I know a farmer that has done 56 bu. to the acre on soybeans, but my average is about 36 bu. to the acre...! I guess that ! am not a good soybean grower, lol...my bigger problem is keeping the deer from eating all of my soybeans (I feed a lot of deer)..! Stagg...!
sarge...I just don't see how it is going to work (???)...they cannot keep loaning out more money for Greece to pay their current bills...nobody want to take a pension cut, soon they will have no pensions at all...! Greece is a proven bad credit risk (and that is not going to change)...! Stagg...!
sarge...not really, we do not fertilize soybeans because they make their own nitrogen (corn and wheat are some of the corps that use a lot of fertilizer, but not soybeans)....! Stagg...!
Board members...I feel that corn prices will remain weak and I see little hope for much of any price increase, even has exports have increase some...however, I feel that soybean prices will get stronger (and it has already started) because of very wet field conditions in the Mid-West, Missouri (and a lot of other places) is/are looking very bleak for soybeans and it seems it to be getting worst...
The fact is, a lot of soybeans have not even been planted yet and very wet conditions on a lot of planted soybean ground is also hurting...if soybeans get water 'over them', even for a short time, that is pretty much it...I have been lucky (this time, so far)...it would probably be a good time to go long on soybeans contracts...! Stagg...!
Board members...bob made an excellent point...I wondered where PSEC would get the funds for a share repurchase program when they had to reduce the dividend in the past (???)...! Stagg...!
Board members...PSEC (yield about 12.9%) is having a share repurchase program in addition to the coming spin-offs...I don't know if it will help the share price, but I am sure it will not hurt it any...I also wonder where they are getting the funds for the repurchase (???)...my opinion, is that the share repurchase may 'enhance the value' of the future pure play spin-offs that are coming (???)...! Stagg...!
