DH...outstanding message (good for you)...'revenue stream' from investments 'is the financial key' in retirement not principal..some people do reverse investments, some people withdraw a percentage and some may not withdraw any (unless they need it)...! Stagg...!

guru...not sure, as I have a program 'which is a collection' of different price targets and the programs also do the average, charts, indicators and etc., (I use over nine different investment programs)...! I don't run all the data that I read, I just use it for tools....! Never trust my opinions and only some of my data, lol....! Stagg (the data copycat)...!

board members...I have been using Round-Up for years and people need to remember that it is biodegradable (within a couple of weeks)...I also spray it around my lakes and it has never killed any fish...I am not saying it is safe, but insecticides are a lot worst than herbicides...Round-Up replaced Paraquat which was not very biodegradable and was turning up in drinking water from wells...! I also grow 'Round-Up Ready' corn and soybeans (GMO)...! Stagg...!

k-bon...we made it through the last 2 minutes of the trading day...NMM now looks like 'Fast Cash' to me (joke)...we could not have made our funds back without bob's help (no joke)...I also receive some monster dividends on AWLCF (which I no longer own)...! Now its time for a drink of Jim Beam Black...! Stagg...!

guru...you may want to look at NMFC (yield about 9.2%) 'a bit closer' as it has a lot of mixed numbers...i.e. EPS Q/Q -141%, EPS this year -42.6% and on the (12) short, medium and long term technical indicators (that I use), NMFC is rated a 24% sell with a current trend of a sell...it is also very close to the target price of $15.00 a share...why not buy something that is rated a buy (???)....i.e. NRZ, TWO, ARI, BDCL and etc.,...! Good luck on your selection...! Stagg...!

bob...the fact is, that 'you are very sharp' and you know a lot and when you don't know, you are good at finding out (and that is good for all of us)...I do find it a bit strange that none of the Pro's have come forward with a clear cut explanation...about 50 million dollars changed hands in two minutes and none of the Pro' want to talk about it (???)...! k-bon...sure it was a Flash crash, it may have been caused by a massive short attack or something else, but when 'a stock or the markets' fall that fast (in about 2 minutes), it is was a Flash Crash...! I agree that it is not over...because it is never over, lol....! $tagg...!

pay. back...SDRL is actually doing pretty good (but the stock holders are not) SDRL has a lot of debt, yet it still has very strong color...i.e. ROA of 39.7%, ROE of 106%, ROI of 9.6% and a very low p/e ratio...of course, investors feel the forward outlook is terrible...however, when SDRL discontinued the dividend that gave them a lot of 'new slack' to play with (cash wise)....! william...I hate to disagree with board members because some times they tend to get upset about it...that said, I think that all Closed End Funds CEF's use a lot of leverage (to increase yields) and when interest rates increase they will probably take a beating...however, Exchange Traded Funds ETF's do not use a lot of leverage and may be a better play in the future as will a lot of the Business development Companies BDC's (which have a higher rate of non-fixed interest rates charges)...also, stocks like NRZ and TWO will probably be safer holdings in the future because of their MSR's...! Good luck on your selections and never trust my opinions, lol...! Stagg...!

bayman...you are correct...a lot of investors look at reverse stock splits as 'a sign of weakness' in a stock and for that reason, a lot of the time, the share price retreats 'some more' after the split...! Thanks for the information, as I will put CIM on my radar...! Stagg...!

OT: More bad news to come for oil

    by marklibera Mar 22, 2015 6:30 PM

Board members...as I understand it, Iran has 'a lot of oil stored in off-shore tankers' and if the sanctions are lifted, a lot of Iranian oil could also soon be added to the global supply...the Iran nuclear deal could make the global price of oil a lot cheaper, Iran could double current sales by at least another 1.2 million barrels of oil a day, which could hold prices at about $60 a barrel until 2016 (source: CNBC, Reuters and Yahoo News)...! k-bon...your attitude is fine (I am not real happy about the 'Flash Crash' on NMM either)....i have been retired about 14 years and it is a bit of a shock 'to see our savings slow down' when we retire, but after a while we adjust to it (and we learn to counter balance and deal with it)...

Another reason that I like high yields is that it gives us 'some more slack to play with' when something goes wrong (and things will go wrong)...! The fact is, that NMM could reduce their yield by 50% and still have a nice payout (and that level of a reduction will probably never happen)....! Stagg...!

sarge...I already stated it on the SFL message board, but I feel it was an automated 'Flash Crash' that was triggered by something (???)...common sense tells us that when a volume of over 6,000.000 more shares than normal are traded in 2 minutes that it was not planed by investors or fund managers...

That said, there it was, Friday afternoon and everybody probably when home early and we had the 'Rise Of The Machines' (no joke, as I am serious)...the scary part is, that if I am correct, 'it could happen again' to any holding that we have...! I am wrong a sometimes, but I bet we see a quick snap-back in the future..! Stagg...!

    O/T CELP

    by williamlebotschy Mar 21, 2015 5:52 AM
    staggman99 staggman99 Mar 21, 2015 9:43 AM Flag

william...I think the new EPA rules on fracking only apply to wells drilled on federal lands (of course, it could also set a new future standard, maybe by changes in some state laws)...from what i read on this matter I don't see it helping CELP very much, because most of the new rules deal with adding additional pips to the side walls of the wells to prevent ground water contamination...

There also seems to be a current slow down in the fracking of new wells, some are being drilled and will be fracked later on, because of the cost vs price of oil...the current indicators are a sell on CELP and the current trend is also a sell...plus, the chart is a bit on the weak side...however, Zack's put a 'strong buy' on it CELP four days ago...my opinion is, that there is better places to place our invested funds...! Its always nice to hear fro a very intelligent and well traveled international investor like yourself (your economic input on the global platform is always outstanding), please keep in touch as many of us profit from your wisdom...! Board members... there are at least '80 or more' technical indicators (and the list is still growing) I usually use the 12 or13 that are the most common (some investors use to judge the direction of the markets by the 'trend of the length' of ladies dresses, lol)....! Stagg...!
