william...I have also turned the corner on my holdings, but 'not as good as you' have...however, my revenue stream from my high yields 'is wonderful' as I continue to reinvest and take advantage of the current markets...i.e. My GSL was a real daisy today...! Stagg...!

sarge...most of my holdings are having a wonderful day...FRO, GSL and AVACF are doing the best and it pays to keep the faith as my revenue stream from my yields are still intact...! If BAC (yield about 1.4%) had a higher yield it would help pay its way...the Pro's try to keep us buying and selling and not investing (the brokers and the analyst make more off of traders and not investors...! Stagg...!

Board members...never listen to william unless you want to show some strong profits, lol...i.e. at this time GSL (yield about 29%, ???) is only up about 12% today...! Stagg...!

k-bon...I don't expect to hit a home run every time I go to bat and that is the investment game we play...however, I am still having a nice day in the markets as my portfolio is still doing fine...i.e. today FRO is up 4.5%, AVACF is up 4.1% and GSL is up almost 9% (at this time) and they all have very high yields...! Stagg...!

gambler...we would all like to see the markets surge forward...however, we have all seen this movie before and the markets 'will probably surge back again' before the end of this week...investors that keep investing in good quality stocks with high yields will be well rewarded, at some point in the future, when the markets rebound...! The markets will do what they will do and smart investors will profit from it 'in the future'...! Stagg...!

sarge...tomorrow, I plan to take some profit on NRZ and reinvest those funds into CPLP (for portfolio investment balance and more revenue stream)...I am still building up my position in CPLP and I will also reinvest some of my recent dividends into It...! My revenue stream from my yields is still growing (percentage wise and cash wise)...! Stagg...!

sarge...NFLX has done great (price wise) and may continue to do so in the future (???)...myself, I would never go near it because the 'p/e is 328', if something went wrong an investor would lose a lot of money and never get it back...I most always stay away from holdings that have real high p/e ratios (I am to chicken for that, lol)...! Stagg...!

pmblass...thanks for an 'very intelligent' message...a lot of investors fail to check out their 'Total Returns' which is adding all of their previous yields to the current stock price...I strongly suggest that investors get a Total Return calculator and start using it...

To get a Total Return calculator, investors can go to 'several websites' to get one that is user friendly (and they are free)...i.e. buyupside, divideninvestor and morning star...I favor the 'buyupside total return calculator' the best because of the flexible dates...! Stagg...!

Board members...this whole week was great for me (sometimes it pays to keep the faith) and NRZ was a real daisy today...I think the markets were over sold and Japan gave it a reason to go back up again...! I still see a lot of stocks that are in over sold territory...i.e. NRZ, SFL, NYMT, BDCL, CPLP and many more...! Stagg...!

    Tanker Market Update:

bob...thanks for a good posted also looks like a JF holding company is going to start a new shipping company, maybe called Arctic Securities (???)...they would probably not start another shipping company if all the shipping business was that bad...! That said, this current rally is very sweet for me...! Stagg...!

  • Board members..because there seems to be some interest in APPL and FB I am posting some data on both of them...this is not a pump or dump as I own neither:

APPL (about 2.2%) is an outstanding American company; gross margin is 40%, operating margin is 30.5%, and the profit margin is 22.8%...the ROA is 19.7%, ROI is 28.3% and the ROE is 42.9% (which is outstanding)...the forward p/e is est. to be 9 and EPS est. next year should be up 9.6%...APPL has $7.50 a share cash on hand and has a forward target price of $142.67...

FB (no yield yet) is a wonderful American company with a very bright future...gross margin is 83.1%, operating margin 30.1%, and the profit margin is 17.6%...ROA is 6.5%, ROI is 8.3% and the ROE is 7.3%...the p/e is very high at 84.5 (this is not good) and the forward p/e is37.5 (which is a lot better)...EPS next year should be up 32.9% and the one year target price is now at $140.00 a share...

My opinion is, that APPL has plenty of cash reserves and a lot of top engineers and will continue to pull new rabbits out of the hat and keep moving forward...FB will continue to grow on the fast track because it is very popular and has a very heavy use which helps it revenue stream...! I could add a lot more, but except for the low yields on both stocks, they seem to be solid investments (because of their color and forward outlooks)...! Stagg...!

    SFL dividend

    by golob.chad Jan 27, 2016 4:41 PM

Chad...I see no reason for SFL to reduce their current yield (they may increase it)...more, 10 years ago my revenue stream from my yields (on investments), was about 12k a year and now it is over 49k a year and still growing (compound returns always win)...

I go for the high yields with strong color and if a company reduces the yield a lot, then I switch holdings and look for other value (and I always dollar cost average into a holding over time)...! I just had eye surgery and have not been posting very much as it is very hard to do...! I have started new positions in CPLP, GSL and I just added more SFL (the recent rally has been very good for my portfolio)...! Stagg...!

staggman99 staggman99 Jan 23, 2016 12:52 PM Flag I have a problem and it is your fault, lol...I am trying to decide which is the better buy at this time GSL or CPLP as they both look good for the yield and the bounce...! i just received more dividends but I do not have enough available funds to make a decent position in both of them...! Stagg...!

sarge...the two day rally probably was a false start, however, it also give us a window to what is going to happen in the thing for sure, is that it is to soon to get back into energy stocks...

oil price have long way to go upward before there is profit in aggain in the oil sectors...! Remember, that the markets will go back up, as we have all seen this movie before (several times)...! Stagg...!

bob...I like the most of color and the yield on CPLP (yield now about 23.7%) and the forward outlook...however, I am a bit concerned with the return on equity (ROE) as it is 4.5% which is very poor...CPLP did not make the Well's list of stocks that may reduce their yield (and that is very good)...

My opinion is, a low ROE may signify (???) that CPLP does not get the best return on their debt that they should...however, the ROE should improve very quick because of a lot lower current
bunker cost (which is helping all shipping)...! I feel that CPLP is still over sold, at this level, and I may start a position in it...! Stagg...!

ed...I have always dollar cost averaged into my investments as I never know where the best price to buy is at (???)...I also reinvest my yields and capital gains as I am lucky to not need those funds to live on (yet)...

The markets will go a lot higher at some point in the future and 'compound returns always win'...2008 was a 'bad bump' in the road, but I have more than doubled my net worth since then (before and after)..! Stagg...!

    Two cents on Midstream

    staggman99 staggman99 Jan 23, 2016 9:39 AM Flag

palestone...sorry to be slow in getting this reply to you on CPLP...CPLP (yield now about 23.7%) has very good color (except for the ROE) and I like the yield, the 1099-no k-1 to deal with, the fact that it is probably over sold, the forward outlook and the fact that all shipping companies are benefiting from lower bunker cost at this time...CPLP 'did not' make the Well's list of stocks that may discontinue their distributions in the near future (and this is very good)...

That said, I am a bit disappointed in the return on equity (ROE) which is about 4.5% (which is very poor, I like a ROE of 12% or better)...the poor ROE would signify to me that CPLP is not getting the best return on their debt that they should (???)...on the other hand, a lot 'lower current bunker costs' should 'change that number very quick' in the future...! I have been doing a lot of research on CPLP and I feel it is a buy at this level (risk vs reward) and I will probably start a position in it (in the near future)...! Good luck on your selections...! Stagg...!

  • Board members...investing 'is a lot of fun' and I understand that some investors need additional income from their investments to live on and they get a bit upset...we all need to invest in stocks, that we believe in, and just 'enjoy the ride' as there is nothing we can do to make the markets perform the way we want then to...

A couple of years from now all the markets will be a lot higher, than they are now, and most investors will not even remember the current financial pain...some investors here are still working and building principal and some, who are retired, have enough addition income that they can also keep reinvesting their profits and revenue stream...! Again, investing is a lot of fun and hopefully everybody will chill out and enjoy the ride...! Good luck to all...! Stagg...!

gambler...I am down 18% YTD and my average weighted yields are now will be interesting to see how all of this plays out in the future...! I do plan to keep reinvesting my revenue stream in the future (I feel I am lucky to still have a lot of revenue stream to reinvest)...! Stagg...!
