  • Board members...I am investor and not a trader...however, 'Binary Options' look interesting to me because: first, very low cost...second, short duration of time...third, limited risk...fourth, is based on a simple 'yes or no' action (up or down price action)..! The reason that I find it interesting is because it would be a quick way to play some of the grain markets (corn, soybeans and etc,), which I understand pretty good...I am still studying up on this (at the Nadex website) and appreciated all opinions...! sarge...I know that I think different than a lot of other investors, but I am now 'loading up on bargains' to get ahead of a major rally that I feel is coming in the future...and I get paid very good while I wait...! Stagg...!

  • Board members...I am on a shopping spree and I cannot believe 'the available bargains' as many fine stocks are 'still on sale'...yesterday, I added more AVACF (yield is 26% as stated by TD Ameritrade, or maybe a lot more, ???) and started a new position in NYMT (yield about 17.5% and it has a very low p/e of 5.3, with the yield being covered by EPS), I 'may add more SFL' (yield about 11.8% and the yield is well covered by EPS) to my current core holdings...

Update, SFL 'has just announced' that they have an acquisition of two dwt product tankers in combination with long term leases...will be delivered in the second half of 2017 and the annual contribution of EBITA will be about 11 million dollars a year over the 7 year also looks to me like SFL and FRO are in the market for other good quality ships from other distressed shipping companies...! What does SFL and FRO have going that we do not know about yet (???)...! Stagg...!

    Is SFL at Risk?

    by rbgambler99 Dec 17, 2015 2:08 PM
    staggman99 staggman99 Dec 17, 2015 3:54 PM Flag

gambler...SFL (yield about 11.8%) is probably not at risk at 'some of the highlights' are: the Q/Q EPS are up 158%, ROA is 5.5%, ROI is 5.25 and the ROE is 13.7%...EPS this year are up 25.3%, operating margin is 37.6%, gross margin is 37.6% and the profit margin is 45.4%...current p/e is 9.3 and the forward est. p/e is 6.7...

Everybody on this message board need to visit the SFL website and check out the front page as there is a lot of easy to understand information there (go to FRO on yahoo, click on profile on the left side of the screen and the click on the blue website at the top)...

Myself, SFL is my largest holding and I am adding more shares to it, please remember that SFL 'is not' a shipping company...SFL is a finance company that is tied to the shipping industry...SFL is the one that owns the assets and not the partners that they lease to...! The fact is, that it is a lot harder to grow a good corn or soybean crop than it is show a decent long term profit in SFL (I think both SFL and FRO are doing fine and getting stronger, profit wise)...! Stagg...!

Is the rate hike rally over?

mark...I don't think it was a Rally...I think it was a market snap-back...some of the Pro's are predicting a 'Rip You Face Off Rally' in the future...I am still waiting to buy into NYMT (yield about 18%) as the markets usually pull-back some around the middle of the day...! That said, AVACF is a weird stock as it is up about 4% on 616 shares traded (???), I must be reading something wrong here...! Stagg...!

SFL - Repayment of Frontline notes

Board members...SFL has a lot of free 'cash on hand', at this time (from several different sources)...this should be good for strong forward growth and higher future yields...SFL owns 7% of FRO and will soon get a dividend on those shares...! Stagg...!

OT: KCAP cut divy, stock falls another 5%

mark...I am waiting for NYMT (yield about 18%) to retreat some in share price to reenter (and no luck yet)...listen up, I now have a nice position in AVACF (yield at least 30%, maybe more), I want to add more, but it is hard to buy because it is traded very thin and nobody wants to sell (no joke)..! Stagg...!.

OT: KCAP cut divy, stock falls another 5%

mark...I am already out of KCAP early this morning as a reduction in yield is almost 'always poor forward guidance'...more, it is your fault, because you talked management into reducing the yield (they read you posted messages on the KCAP message board)...that said, 'I will now go hid in the forest and eat mushrooms'...

To be honest, KCAP is still paying a very nice dividend but I am now shopping for better value and maybe higher Total Returns...! That said, how is your NRZ, BDCL and PSEC doing today...mine is doing fine, lol...! Stagg...!

  • Board members...FRO has a new loan facility that will save an estimated $1,400 a day on Time Charter Equivalent (TCE) cost, it looks to me like this will apply to 43 vessels (for a saving of about $60,200 a day)...

This is not meant to be a pump, but it is a fact, lol...and a lot more yearly profit for FRO (about 22 million dollars)...more, there is a very good article 'on headlines' at the bottom of the page on FRO (yahoo)...about the current 'Time Charter Rates' (dated 12/16/15)....! Stagg...!

board...I agree that KCAP will probably sell off tomorrow...however, if we take the after hour share price of $3.65 it gives us 'a new current yield' of about 16.4% based on the new lower yield (that is still a decent yield)...! Myself, I expected a possible reduction in the yield and may dollar cost average more shares on any stronger dip in the share price...! Stagg...!

  • Board members...I added more to my core holdings of NRZ (yield about 16%) the other day and now that seems like a good move (I also added more SFL and started a position AVACF)...I was going to start a new position in NYMT (yield now about 18.7%) after the Fed. raised interest rates, because I thought that it would pull-back even more and I was wrong (maybe tomorrow, ???)...

Most if the BDCL's are also on a roll and I am hopeful that jingle bells 'will continue to ring'...I think that the oil tanker stocks will remain strong (and stronger) for at least the next 6 months and that a lot of banks will start to get more attention (WFC looks good to me)...! I still have some free cash on hand to invest and more revenue stream on the way (the next 6 weeks should be interesting)...! Stagg...!

bob...good posted message thanks...please note, that my previous message may be 'a bit misleading' as oil tanker spot rates are over $105,000 a day, the 'average over-all oil tanker rate' (charters included) is about $66.000 a day...! I do think that FRO operates oil tankers mostly on the spot market...! Stagg...!

    CG and IEP...

    by rbgambler99 Dec 16, 2015 10:37 AM
staggman99 staggman99 Dec 16, 2015 11:17 AM Flag is my pleasure to check them out for you:

CG (yield about 14.2%) is now rated a 96% sell on the 12 different short, medium and long term technical indicators I use...EPS Q/Q are down -400% and EPS this year are down -40%...gross margin is 44.4%, profit margin is 1.3% and operation margin is -11.4%...the current p/e is 174.33 (which is very bad) opinion is, that the current color is very bad, but somebody thinks it will rebound because the forward est. p/e next year is 6...

IEP (yield about 9.3%) has very bad color..i.e. the 12 different technical indicator I use rate it a 80% sell...the ROA is -1.5%, the ROI is -1.45 and the ROE is -9.9%...EPS past 5 years are -25.3%, EPS Q/Q are -17.2% and EPS this year are down -134%...the only good thing that I can find on IEP is they seem to have about $27.00 a share cash on hand (???)...! My opinion, is that we are having another great day in the markets and maybe this is a good time to take a hard look at some of the oil tanker stocks (never trust any of my data or advice, lol)...! Stagg...!

  • Board members...the U.S. export oil ban will probably be lifted by the end of this week...this will be a boom for a most oil tanker companies as the current spot rate is over $105,000 a day (break even cost is about $23,000 a day)...SFL will benefit from their 7% ownership in FRO and from the quarterly profit sharing agreement...! Stagg...!

william...I know about the ignore button, but it don't stop the cancer from spreading...JK has been trying to turn the SFL message board into a political forum 'for years' and others are falling for it (and it only attracts more trolls)...! Stagg...!

  • staggman99 staggman99 Dec 16, 2015 9:23 AM Flag are correct, as I just read the article...however, I feel the companies that benefit 'the most' will be the oil tankers (as tanker rates are already well over $105,000 a day and increasing, their break even is about $23,000 a day)...! The smart money will probably start jumping into oil tanker stocks and SFL (among others) will benefit from their 7% ownership in FRO and quarterly profit sharing...! Stagg...!

  • Board members...please, keep this message board clean and 'don't feed the trolls'...again, one good message can 'make or save' investors thousands of dollars, yet, there is no reward for feeding the trolls (political or otherwise)...! It is almost impossible to find a message board that is not trashed with a bunch of garbage...please, carry all trash 'someplace else' and lets make some more profit...! Stagg...

sarge and other board good investment tip can 'make or save' thousands of dollars for a real investor...yet, politics 'never offer' anything new or different (it is always more of the same old stuff)...! Its not hard to see who are the 'real investors' from those 'who feed' the trolls...! Stagg...!
