Board members...I added more PSEC (yield about 13.% and pays monthly) today and I also started a position in CEFL (yield may be about 18% and it pays monthly), CEFL is a basket of income holdings and is double leveraged (2X)...not sure (???) if DHVL (yield about 14% and pays monthly) or CEFL is best so I am buying/holding both of them, lol...! The fact is, I love monthly dividends (I still plan to add more BDC's when I have available funds)...! $tagg...!
Board members...NYMT (yield about 13.7%) don't get much attention but it is a long term winner...NYMT is up 32% over last 12 months, 56% over the last 3 years and 170% over the last 5 years in Total Returns...one reason that it is not noticed much is because its share price increases very slow and steady....
That said, the share price of SDRL is reflecting the good news but for some reason SFL is not, maybe the forward outlook was already baked in the the share price of SFL (???)...NADL is up very strong again today and I wonder how Rosneft will take a major interest in NADL, will they buy into current shares or will NADL issue more shares for them (???)...fact is, that the deal between NADL and Rosneft sort of looks like a off and on-shore drilling monopoly in Russia...! $tagg...!
mark..."puzzled by today's action" (you hit the nail on the head)...I thought that we would get more of a on-going pop on SFL and SDRL because the earnings and the forward outlooks were very strong...are the markets looking for a reason to pull-back and cannot find one (???)...
guru...I will check out TCAP as all of your tips in the past have been very good...the Russel Index will create a bit of a problem, but it will not change the performance of good holdings (should only weaken the share price for a while)...! $tagg...!
Board members...I feel that PSEC, BDCL and HTGC are all strong buys here and now...today, I sold the rest of my WMC (for a small profit) and may start a position in CEFL (yield about 18%) and then start adding more to my BDC's...all of my current holdings have reported strong earnings and the future in them is still looking bright...it looks like there will be some profit taking and then the markets will start moving a bit higher...! However, the higher the markets move, the more chance of a future correction (the big question is when, ???)...! $tagg..!
k-bon...I agree that the Keystone pipeline will eventually be built...however, I feel that our government is using the environmental issue 'as an excuse' to stop or delay it, because it will benefit Canada and not the U.S.,...
I could be wrong (???), but I think the Keystone pipeline will increase the price that we pay for our fuel (and lower the price of U.S. oil) because the U.S. refineries are already running at about full capacity...it is obvious that they want to run it to the major refineries on the Gulf Coast (it cheaper to export a finished product than crude oil)...! $tagg...!
Board members...investors need to remember that SFL was a spin-off from FRO (two different times as FRO and SFL were the same company) and those two spin-offs reduced the liability of a down turn in the tanker industry on SFL...! $tagg...!
sarge...thanks for posting the outstanding results on SDRL....I would like to add that SDRL has given 'a very good forward outlook on their current business' and a small dividend increase will probably ease fears of a dividend reduction...SDRL seems to keep coming out with 'more surprises' and in the future I expect to hear some good news on SeaMex...I also feel that some debt reduction with a dividend increase is a very good sign going forward..! Both SFL and SDRL continue to shine bright...! $tagg...!
Board members...I just finished reading and looking over the the first quarter report on SFL...It looks 'all roses' to me, the drilling rig West Linus is now reaping revenue and will continue to do so, a nice cash sweep has accumulated from FRO, earnings have increased 22 cents per share since last quarter (almost doubled)..and SFL is still on the fast track for forward growth as any increase in a dividend is always a good sign...! FRO now is a lot smaller footprint with SFL, yet SFL is still showing a nice profit from FRO...! $tagg...!
bob...I was up about 5:00 am...I would have bought some NADL if I had available funds...'good for you and bad for me', I could have bought some NADL in the past but was probably to bullheaded, lol...
That said, besides SFL, SDRL and NADL, most of the BDC's seem to be on the move again (PSEC, BDCL, HTGC and etc.)...'these are the good times'...! $tagg...!
Board members...the REITs are still running strong and the BDC's are doing a great snap-back...I start getting scared when it looks to easy (and it is looking very easy at this time)...I will probably start taking some profit (or dropping some stop loss orders) on SFL and SDRL in the near future...
That said, I agree with mark that this market cannot keep running like this without some type of correction because investors will always take profits and there are 'profits a plenty' at this time...! Farming is also very high risk as some of my corn looks great but most of it needs to be replanted (to cool and to wet made a lot of the planted seed rot)....! $tagg...!
sarge...I don't think I will be eating much crow on SFL because it is doing fine...however, I am surprise that SFL is not up more on share price than it is (???) on such good earnings and a outstanding forward outlook...! This is starting to look to easy as I am racing to new all time highs on my holdings everyday...! $tagg...!
bob....my P.C. is fine, at the time I posted the message NADL had not moved at all on TD Ameritrade or Yahoo...however, it is up almost 9% at this time (good for SDRL and NADL investors)...! $tagg...!
Board members...at this time SDRL (yield about 10.8%) is up over 3% in the Pre-Market...SDRL will report earnings tomorrow and it looks like investors may like the new pending deal with Rosneft and NADL...however, I wonder why NSDL is not also up in the Pre-Market (???)....
That said, we should be able to get a stronger grip where the future of SDRL is heading tomorrow, I am also looking forward to hearing some more news from SDRL on SeaMex...plus, SFL (yield about 8.7%) should report earnings sometime today (???)...! Stagg...!
palestone...probably because most of the LINE shareholders are in 'for the long haul' and don't trade as much as the LNCO shareholders because of the tax breaks...! $tagg...!
Iachu...some investors may disagree with you because SFL is up about 3% at this time today...HTGC and BDCL are also having a fine day...! $tagg...!
gambler...you are not a jinx, SDRL is just catching its breath a bit today...the fact is, that SDRL is getting a lot of good press lately...this market is getting a bit scary as I am making new highs on my holdings everyday...aside from the tax issue (???), I expect SDRL to continue to perform very well...at this time, VLCCF and BDCL are doing a nice 'snap back' today...! $tagg...!
Board members...SFL (yield about 9.1%) has a decent yield and is still showing strong growth...two more dry bulk carriers should add about 7 million dollars a year in income (starting in about two months) and four newbuilding container vessels will add about 46 million a year in income for a total of another 53 million dollar a year...all of these ships are contracted on long term charters (seven to eight years)...! If SFL reports strong earnings next week, it should shine very bright...! $tagg...!
Board members...ed is correct, HQL is an outstanding stock (not in my current holdings and that is a mistake)...HQL (yield about 7.3%) is up 15 % in the last 12 months, 72% in the last 3 years and 175% over the last 5 years in Total Returns...BIP (yield about 4.7%) is up 11% in the last 12 months, 86% over the last 3 years and 252% over the last 5 years in Total Returns...HQL and BIP both have nice long an short term records...! $tagg...!
Board members...most of the time when a company is selling off assets it is a warning sign (that they cannot get their financial act together)...
Today's Tip...BDCL (yield about 17.5%) is over-sold and on the rebound, BDCL is a basket of BDC's and is double leveraged (2X), we get twice the profit or loss for the same amount of invested funds...! $tagg...!
sarge...yes, the tax issue has been settled but the details are secret...and yes, there is other news (everywhere)...SDRL has been getting 'a lot of very good press' lately (in the past it was all bad)...a lot of investors are worried about the debt of SDRL (I am not)...I always feel that debt is an asset if it is income producing (and with SDRL it is)....however, the tax issue is different, not serious, but it may push 'the upside time frame' back a bit, ???....! $tagg...!
