  • It would seem the Lohan game ain't so great and it's not being promoted. Even TMZ gave it a bad review. Now I'm not sayin' TMZ is the "be all end all" for game reviews. But they did give KKH lots of praise. Lohan's game can be seen as dark humor, but there is no sticking power.

Glu knows what it's doin' with KKH. It ain't gonna be easy to copycat the formula. BTW, TMZ speculated the success of a Taylor Swift game with a digital game specialist. It's believed it would be bigger than KKH.

Well of course this dog wont hunt! It's an agility dog! Weavin' through obstacle poles, jumpin' the jumps, balancin' on the teeter totter. 12 months from now...who knows. Right now I'm focused on the next 6 weeks. And Glu has done a fine job runnin' the course! Huntin'...pleazee.

Well, Value Walk came out with a positive article. The heading is "Glu May Be Set Up To Beat Guidance." Then they go on about Canaccord Genuity. It closes with a mention about insider buying and CG's price target of $6. And De Masi just did an interview a couple of weeks ago. News may be thin, but what comes out is positive.

Dude...'Lindsay Lohan..." Gotta wonder what her compensation package is. A complimentary bag of macadamia nuts and a vintage Ford Pinto. I wonder if it starts out with a promising career and then the detours. Drugs, her father and mother, shoplifting, tirades, jail, rehab, more rehab...ya know, this game is starting to sound fun! But this game, even if a knock off copy of KKH, wont have a very large following. And as cougsnroses makes the point, there will be more knockoffs Well, perhaps this game will have the same success as Lohan career.

Doesn't this pup usually go up before for the close of the quarter and then drifts down before the cc? Don't matter to me but I think that's Glu's norm. I do believe the cc will hold good numbers and a strong forward guidance. And with Glu's edge with 3D games they'll be a natural fit for VR, which will be coming on stronger in 2015.

Possible Glu buyout bid offer? $10 a share?

    by nj_maverick Dec 8, 2014 11:44 AM

Dude, fair or not there ain't gonna be a buyout. What does Glu have to enhance a company. Apple makes money offering game apps. If a company like Glu or King fail it's no big deal to Apple or Google or even Amazon. I just don't see the upside for a company to buy Glu. On the other hand, if Glu had a steady income from a number of sources like showcasing indie games, and Bee Cave or Killz, or even RMG, then yeah, there is an upside. But right now Glu's money comes from the popularity of it's games. If I got my thinkin' wrong on this I'd like someone to educate me why Glu would be a valuable asset to buy.

  • Dudes, as a long I couldn't be happier with the insider buy and the share price movin' up. But y'all need to pace yourself. The share price could drop as profit taking happens, or the manipulators move in. We need to show patience and see where this is going. With that said, it is interesting the quantity of shares bought and the timing of this. So close to the end of the quarter. But again, let's see what happens. Even I got some shares I'm ready to sell when Glu gets to the mid $4's. I can't be alone with this.

I know y'all have chatted about this, but it's the weekend, so does it matter...

Back in October 2012 Glu partnered with Probability PLC. In February of this year (announced in May) GTECH's UK branch bought Probability, which means Glu is now partners with GTECH. GTECH is located in Italy. GTECH has a much bigger foot print in gaming then Probability did. Now I know RMG is a blip on the income sheet for Glu. But given all of GTECH's connections this could be a very good thing for Glu down the road. And the laws governing online gambling in the EU are far more relaxed then in the US. The deal Glu had with Probability was they would provide the games and Probability would run the business. This is one more point of view about Glu that shouldn't be forgotten.

Dude! Where's my head at??!! Swear, thought it was Thursday. Too much to do, to little time to do it. But, I'm still worried with a sell off whether at the end of today or next week. I'm hopin' HIMX just keeps inchin' to $11. (An a thumb up for reminding me what day this is.)

Well, a close at $7.75 looked nice this morning. But a close of $8 or higher would be great! Let's hope $7.75 is the low. I am worried with this kind of run up Friday will see a drop. But for likie!

Dude, I'm with ya on this. Not a day trade, but not a long hold either. I will admit I have bought and held some shares. And with the share price so low I think bargain hunters will start buying in and moving the price up, somethin' like today.

So, mcpix, you say you're here until the next run up. What are you speculating the price needs to be for you to cut bait? I'm plannin' to sit until the CC. But, if $6 or $7 show their faces before then, I just might cut bait.

    Revenue Estimate Q4

    by fitzy800 Dec 2, 2014 11:35 AM
    star.trader star.trader Dec 2, 2014 4:22 PM Flag

I think Q4 will be Glu's defining moment. Less than 30 days before the close, and Christmas is just a head, too. Now I know some will say this has no value, but the last 19 quarters have been good. Not perfect, but Glu has held its own. No bleedin' cash. In fact pretty much debt free. Glu is no ZNGA or COOL. It has a good chase of following Take-Two's lead and movin' to a new level. Q4 has every reason to have strong numbers. But, if Glu drops after the CC I say it's time to cut bait and move on.

    ("Captain Obvious," he-he. Funny.)

So dude, y'all have said this is not an investing stock. It's a trading stock. Glu is at its 52 week low. If it drops lower from here it wont be by much. If this is a trading stock wouldn't it be a good time to pick up some shares on the cheap? Glu could see a 20% to 30% pop up. Who knows, maybe even a bit higher. Glu ain't showin' any debt. Games are makin' money. And I'm thinkin' smart traders will come in to buy bring the price back up. What say you.

Google Glass ain't doin' so well. You can buy a pair at half price on E-bay. I think when Google saw not only the lack of interest but many who disliked the concept, they slowed the rollout down and pulled back on manufacturing. I'm bettin' they knew there was trouble long before their option with HIMX ran out. And add to this, Google gave up on those barges. Fire safety concerns. Those barges were goin' be their show place and educational centers to enlighten one and all of their products. Google Glass will still happen, but it will take time for the general public to warm to them. But, because of the slowdown with Glass HIMX took a poke in the nose. HIMX still has its hands in many areas. Worried investors just need to remember that and to see HIMX ain't goin' away.

    Exploring an idea

    by star.trader Nov 14, 2014 12:26 PM
    star.trader star.trader Nov 14, 2014 12:49 PM Flag

Well, you're right. Mobile gamers are cheap. The free games cater to them. I'm suggesting a new category, "Monthly gamers." Like goin after the dudes that drop $60 on EA games. Keep selling the free games, which they are good at, but make a new category for a new audience.

    Sentiment: Buy

  • star.trader by star.trader Nov 14, 2014 12:26 PM Flag

So, it seems even though Glu has been doin' great for the last 19 quarters there is the concern "They are only as good as their next successful game." Glu's major income comes from nickel and diming players with successful games. They offer the games free and let the player chose what to buy. But again, it all hangs around the success of each game. Now, EA sells games. But aren't they the same? Each new game has to be a success. Still, investors buy EA.

What if Glu opened a new category. Say a monthly membership fee for a certain game and you get everything, or for several games. This could be used with games yet to be created. I just think having a monthly income from memberships would add to the confident level of investors. Somethin' more tangible.

Now I ain't sayin' this is a perfect idea. I just want to explore other ways Glu could help with investor concerns. Membership fees for a select category of games could be one of them.

Should add, HIMX technology is in many things. Smartphones, smartwatches, other wearables, even solar panels. And so far they haven't monkeyed with the dividend payout. HIMX ain't no one trick pony.

eternal dude, I've learned there are traders that sell going into earnings. I get the feelin' this is what's happenin' with HIMX the last couple of quarters. And there's one bad analyst and many good ones. But, them chicken-littles all go runnin' each time this Jay and buddy raises it's sleepy head. Anyway, it's always good to ask questions if ya need to know what's what.

Amen to dat my brothah. Glu has better games and is better run than Zynga and yet it drifts down like Zynga. Makes no sense.
