Tesla doesnt owe Nevada much at all:
$37.5 million in donations to local public schools starting in 2018
$1 million to support battery research at the University of Nevada
It’s also building its factory there, which it claims will create 6,500 jobs

Isnt that like saying if you did'nt get the high performance motor in your Corvette, you can pull the current one and replace it for $30k?
What would the price of a replacement 90kwh battery be?
Tesla forum had several members discussing not going forward with X pre-orders. Some were going to buy competing manufacturer vehicles, or a MS. Not sure how much styling had to do with it, I think some were just tired of waiting.
