The annual report provides information on the phase out of refractory production at Bogoso and there were impairment charges taken in 2014. The production for 2015 is similar to 2014 with lower costs according to the report. The company is banking on non refractory production at Prestea Undergroun, permits were just issued and the feasibility study for Prestea Underground is due anytime now. The PEA in late 2014 was favorable.
I'm no expert in the financials of a gold miner but I find the CEO and current management with impeccable credentials and experience, the same for the Board of Directors, and if Royal Gold was comfortable making the deal I'm in for the ride.
GSS pulled it off because RGLD recognized their hidden potential but more importantly the Directors and Senior Management of GSS are made of incredibly experienced men and women. Toss in a Board of Directors with impeccable credentials this is a company of mining pros many with over 30 yrs experience and most with mining degrees. These are serious people with a set of objectives and laser focus.
The cc presentation was very positive on Prestea, detailed engineering and estimation work for feasibility study has progressed and results expected this July., Q1 2015 capex of $2.4M on rehab of main underground mining levels, development plans accelerated capex for 2015 revised up to $29M, permitting the surface pits progressing well, production expected by end of 2015., Bogoso non refractory plant will process tailings by oxide ores from surface pits. Q4 2016 first production from underground stopes.
You can view the presentation at the website.
GSS has make significant improvements over the past two very difficult years. The CEO and Board are very experienced and the streaming deal with Royal will prove to be a big winner. Just replacing the loan which was at LIBOR plus 10% will help and when gold finally increases in price GSS will produce ever at lower cost than now. That fact that they will be non refractory is another big positive. Go to website and read the presentation and listen to the replay!! Look at the credentials of the CEO, Management and the BOD.
First I'm surprised NEM hasn't bought GSS since they are both in the vicinity, second GSS will no longer be doing reactionary mining which will increase efficiency.
Just tossing it out for discussion. I've been buying both and trying not too hard to think about both stocks hitting their all time highs by the expiration date.
