I picked up 2,700 shares today. Almost 10% of the volume. Running low on bullets though. Sure would be nice to see another PR on orders to help support the price.

Yes, though some of it was mine, so that's probably a negative sign.

Revenues down, but they managed to control costs pretty well. Earnings were better than expected. Not sure how Farr gets to his forecast of $4.50 to $4.60 for the year. Need to listen to the CC this afternoon for more details.

    Q4 2014 Results and CC

Nothing really concrete, but here are a couple of my notes on Steel Partners and their varied holdings. Not sure it's enough to mean anything, but I kind of followed SP here from SL Industries and SXCL.

Steel Partners owns 20% of ATNY via its SXCL company. SXCL still has about $240 million in cash type assets and is looking to do something with the money. Recently SXCL bought a 13% stake in Aviat Networks (AVNW) also. It's a somewhat related business. Steel Partners also has a position in IEC, also a somewhat related business. Vintage just got their own BOD installed at IEC. And then Steel Partners more or less controls SLI, also somewhat related business. Just seems like they could put several of these companies together and just have one management team. Probably combine some manufacturing facilities also.

Also noticed that Steel Partners has 7% or so of GenCorp Inc., which engages in the manufacture and sale of aerospace and defense products and systems in the United States. Gabelli also seems to follow Warren (SP) around to several of these companies. I don't know whether Warren (SP) was just lucky with SLI or not, but it has done quite well since he put his own stamp on the company.

I don't have that large of a position in this, but might add more.

A little worse than expected, but better than Q4 last year and approaching breakeven. Still selling at less than 1/2 of revenues. No callers on the CC, so no one asked about IEC or Steel Partners and any possible business combinations. Still think something may happen. Saw that Vintage was able to get their boys on the BOD at IEC.

Cramer was hyping semis this morning. He mentioned NXPI and Cypress specifically.

There were some interesting trades late in the day. Starting around 3:45 someone took out a block of 4100 at 2.43 and then later 4300 at 2.45 and then 2400 at 2.63. Not huge, but still something. I picked up a few this morning also, but not that much.

Guess we could pull back a little, but those were still pretty good result. Record revenues and earnings for any Q4. Revs were a little better than my guess, but per share was a little worse. Market looks ready to tank today also.

I saw a headline go across on the CNBC ticker about Texas Instruments being helped by sales into the automotive market. Sounds like right up our alley. Be nice to see one of those FOX-1Ps going to TI.
