    CLR buys NFX

I don't disagree with your thoughts. I guess it depends on how big of an ego Continental CEO has. Money is cheap for CLR and stock price is high, so an acquisition of NFX would less expensive now, as NFX stock price will continue to rise. CLR would have an even more incredible growth engine and cost efficiencies if they acquired NFX's large SCOOP holdings. BOEPD for SCOOP wells show minimal declines at 30, 60 and 90 days which makes it a top shale play to be big in. NFX long-term outlook is bright, but, as a shareholder, I wouldn't mind a quicker return via CLR acquisition this year.

Look for CLR to purchase NFX at $55 per share in Q3 2014 citing strategic fit of complementary acreage between both companies.. CLR would regain title of top producer in the Bakken with NFX’s 100,000 net acres and ~16,000 current production. It would increase CLR’s position in the prolific, liquids rich SCOOP play to a massive ~700,000 net acres. A purchase of NFX would also provide CLR its first leasehold in the highly desirable Eagle Ford play. CLR could sell NFX’s huge holdings in Uinta basin and future proceeds of China holdings sale to pay for part of NFX purchase. Due your own diligence. GLTAL’s

Any chatter or whisper numbers out there. Strong Q1 reports across business segments propelling earnings estimate to be 18% higher than last year. Anyone hearing anything about AXE overdelivering with 20%+ earning growth to spike stock over $100 again?

Hopefully, traders realize unrealized value and push stock higher. If DVN were to make a move off their low like NFX, DVN would be at $95. Overlay DVN and NFX using Yahoo camparison charting and see how muc more DVN has to rise further. Both are the same story of moving to higher margin liquid and away from gas, but DVN hasn't appreciated as much as NFX yet

Newsworthy Mitchell Rand developments monetization of property in a sale to another surrounding oil company at $2,500 or $260 million and Lynden taking its 50% share or $130 million and issuing a $130 million special dividend to shareholders more than doubling stock price

  • I am long Lynden, but stating that BOEPD is stagnate at about 1,000 for the 10 straight quarter is nothing to get excited over. Need results of recently spud HZ well to be great ( 1,500 BOEPD) and truly newsworthy activity from Mitchell Rand holding before stock will move $1.25+

    what is Devon worth

If DVN matched NFX's appreciation from moribound lows, DVN would be trading today at $95-$100.

While I am long and would love a 25% price rise, the stock is only worth what someone is will to bid. Until such time DVN issues some incredibly positive news, its shares could stay stagnate

Even though NFX had great assets, its stock price languished until it experienced a hockey stick trajectory higher over a 4-6 week period recently. DVN has great assets too and if it is to play catch-up with NFX recent stock more, DVN could rise to $100. A 12 month stock price comparison indicates DVN could rise another 25%-30% more to equate to NFX's stock move over the year. GLTAL
