Most likely do it again, he has a a terrible record. Looks like another chapter in the never ending, Taken by Tokman saga.
Well, that's the fear that a lot of us have and only time will tell. I wish we would hear of another contract to prove we can compete with Sony for some of the bigger contracts. Sony is an honorable company with a very good history and I couldn't be happier with them, but we won't know the negotiating skills of Tokman for a long time. I don't expect to be able to pin a royalty price per unit down with the information we will be getting from the company. I do believe those numbers will be shrouded very well. Hoping he a better CEO than I give him credit for.
Not a good feeling and it is showing in the pps. Heavy short position waiting for his usual miss seems to be the order of the day. Can you imagine finishing the year at $2.50? I was looking for at least $5 this year and $12 next year. A lot of things have happened this year, all good, and it was worth a buck. A few will celebrate that, but I consider it another tokman disappointment. Still time left to move the needle.
I agree bull2, but we will see an embedded projector in a cdll phone, of that I am certain.
The value of MVIS is $3 per share chowderhead. All because we have no revenue and the CEO is thought of as a thief. The tax loss is worth more than our curtent market cap and the patents, contracts etc are worth nothing to the street. We are totally dependent on other companies to take the tech higher and Sony is in control, not Tokman. That is why you hear nothing from that moron who is hiding behind NDA's. Sony will own the space and I believe they will own MVIS as well. You are dreaming when you value the company 15 times more than the current pps, it just doesn't happen. But, I do hope you get your wish as I have loaded the boat on my buyout feelings. I also think Apple and Samsung will not bid and would be satisfied to continue doing business with Sony, but I would welcome a bidding war for this gem.
Don't want to forget that tax loss carry forward my friend. That's a big nut in anybody's house.
My thoughts exactly Purdy. Hard to change your MO and Tokman has been BS'n shareholders for years now by hiding behind NDA's and will not change. That is why there is so much short interest. Sure hope I am wrong.
You bring wisdom to the board and I enjoy your input, but on this issue I have a different thought. Sony has got total control of our tech for almost nothing. They have no risk but they do have the smarts to tie us up for 8 years at almost no expense to them as royalties won't be paid until they sell the product, or quarterly, or some other arrangement. They know what they have because they are spending money hand over fist to acquire the competition. The revenue they will be providing MVIS is not known and that I believe is in the best interest of Tokman and gang. Less than a buck and the pps drops to $2. Sony will buy us sooner or later is my guess. Keeping the pps low is in their best interest also provides them another easy take over. I do think the shorts have figured this game out and the reason they are so bold. Keeping investors in the dark is also in Tokmans best interest. The shares they have accumulated from us has made them very, very rich at any buyout price and that is a red flag looking at Tokman's history.
It is hard for someone to change habits.
The process it taking place right now. Everyone invested here knows that we should be over $5 just on the Sony contract. It is also apparent that the short interest is aware of what is happening with regard to our eventual take out. It is the longs that refuse to see the hand writing on the wall. The pps is being held in the three dollar range because it benefits both management and Sony. We have to compete with Sony for future business and I believe the disadvantage there is that they got such a sweet deal it is almost impossible to go head to head for major business. That is why I feel the non exclusive contract means little to Sony. The key is the royalty payment on each sale and that is not going to be known by anyone but Sony and MVIS. Tokman has been using NDA's as a means of keeping shareholders in the fold and keeping the facts to himself. It wasn't that long ago that $5 was a common thought on royalties and now it seems that a lot of those folks realize that $1 would be more likely. I personally would not be surprised to see it less than that and the reason for secrecy, not competitive reasons.
There are several keys that have caught my eye and one of them was the CFO leaving the company when we were on the verge of finally turning the corner. The second one was Sony's aggression into the sensor side of the business showing that they want to control the whole sector. The latest news on the Toshiba side only confirms what I felt a few months ago. They have essentially tied up MVIS for $8M for eight years, which is chump change, and the only thing left for us to understand is what the royalty payments are and their impact on the pps. Surely it is in their best interest to keep that from shareholders if indeed Sony took Tokman to the wood shed.
I have watched the unrest on the YMB lately and read both sides. Some folks are beginning to become wary now of why we sit at three bucks and question the short interest. Not a bad idea.
Watching management manhandle retail investors like this makes me sick. Rewarded for miserable performance and no accountability.
Absolutely Purdy, could of written the same myself. I am so tired of hearing the same old thing over and over. Can't really get behind the smiling thing as great news either. Had hoped for a lot more. The F500 took the wind out of our sails, if we ever had any. If the CC goes as we think, it might 6 months before we hear any thing to move the pps. I don't think a Sony order is coming because I now believe they are doing it all. UPS is not going to happen, seems too late for them. Peters blog is the only thing that keeps me informed other than Joe. Terrible handling of this tech by management.
Congrats Purdy, I'm not far behind and feel very much the same. I thought "first and goal" I had a chance, but that was six years ago and things are still aways off. I am glad we are depending on Sony now and not Tokman to see the end game. Good luck to you and many more .
