Geo, insider buying is one of the red flags that make me uneasy. This great tech, about to become a big thing, and the BOD sits and buys nothing? Satisfied to just take our shares and smile? Come on, they show no confidence.
You can pump day and night and it tastes dry without the company supplying some water occasionally.
Ten years of silence isn't very quenching.
I think the point is that Dr. Kim drove expectations over the past two years that were way off the mark. I think the point is that he knowingly drew retail investors into the hype and didn't deliver. That is what I am reading in that message. Also the fact that he didn't drive the pps as expected with his dwarfing, and low hanging fruit catch phrases. That's how I read it.
Can't guess, don't know the extent of NDA's or products coming to market near future. THat is the problem with Tokman, we have to see if he is smiling and invest on that. Huh?
Been saying that for a long time, along with my concern that there is no poison pill. I see it the same way and have since the agreement was signed. Hope we stay independent until the pps hits mid teens. Would like to see a cash and stock offer if anything because the impact laser projection is going to have is huge. My other concern is that the BOD holds tons of our shares and is likely to become filthy rich at any price. OTOH, how do we know how to value the company with Tokman working under all those NDA's? We don't even know what is on the horizon, surely we have been wrong almost 100% of the time guessing who we are in bed with and who is near a product release.
Don't care what Piper Jaffray says it never makes any difference. Data and partnerships, that's it, and Dr. Kim isn't that good selling the science The deals we have ar excellent, but i'm not cashing any checks until I see some data that isn't out of the lab, and neither is the street.
Trimuph, I am convinced that Sony wants to dominate this space as the big supplier and won't mention MVIS at all. They want the world to know they are the manufacturer of the laser engines and all parts to make any form of laser projection you might want. MVIS is a silent partner and I believe all the big volume users will be lined up at Sony's trough. That nonexclusive agreement is a non issue in my mind, Sony will own the space if my thinking is right. We will make a lot of money with this elephant, but not the rocket shot all the pumpers were looking for. It's all good, they have the engineering, sales and marketing money to do it right. Just gotta understand the terms better to really get a feel for what it's all worth to us.
Case of over promise under deliver from the Dwarfing king. You can't say all the things he said and not deliver. Not that we haven't made progress, but his mouth overloaded his butt. He wrote checks he hasn't been able to cash yet and he has lost all of his mojo. Data and partnerships is all that is going to move this pps, not catch phrases any more.
Looks like we are all thinking the same. Just had a similar conversation with my investment guy in Iowa a few hours ago.
Considered that. I think they have committed a ton of cash to building the structure for mass production of Engines and Lasers and that is their first priority. I believe that when they start to see a return on that investment and the huge market, that I don't think anybody really sees, that they will become interested in becoming the Walmart of Picop and sensors to the world. I believe when they realize that, they will want to own the IP and take us out. Hopefully that will be a price far above what we are seeing now, but I can't rule out that they will want to keep the pps at a discount. I tend to look at things from a business prospective and see things a little different at my age. I also watched them #$%$ the Walkman to Itunes as well as Beta Max to VHS. You don't want to repeat the same mistakes, espically on a scale like this. I feel this is the biggest impact to hit the CE industry in 20 years. Maybe I'm too cautious. JMHO
I don't know how many times I have brought up the subject of a poison pill over the past few years, but I certainly like the protection it provides. I realized a while ago that as we get closer and closer to success that a poison pill would be a nice thing to have, especially with the performance of this management team in growing the company and the pps. A weak pps with little regard from the manipulators and shorts is something to be concerned with. It is a ;market that sees little enforcement from the SEC and the violations are rampant. All of this should of been considered by management and I hope they have a plan in place, just in case. I don't think it is a major concern, but well worth our thoughts. The best insurance I see at this point is Sony. Their investment is so large that they won't sit on their thumbs and let some entity steal it. OTOH.....they may be the interested party in acquiring the tech. After all they saw what we saw and locked the tech up cheap for eight years. I say cheap because I don't know the terms and can't say for sure until numbers come in April. Too many unanswered questions remain and at this point I thought we would have some clarity and guidance form the company. Time will tell, but it is always next year and I am hoping that changes quick.
Good discussion gang, and I think you are correct friend. I do believe we will see TV ads soon for the projector. Satisfied that we are seeing products with MVIS, or should I say Sony projection, finally hitting the market.
DON'T EVER, EVER think that this company won't go for $6 bucks. I have seen this before and although I don't see many longs selling, it can happen. With just a little success the lpatents will be worth much more and everyone realizes that, but Tokman has been unable to do much with the pps and I'm sure he thought the pps would be much higher than it is. The tricks of wall st. are a marvel. It is the hedge funds not us long holders who move the market and take companies down in a flash. Tokman is limited in his business acumen and it shows in his verbage leading investors to conclude positives and expectations at a higher levels than they are. He has got to learn how to present information period. This past week is a case in point, he needs professional help in releasing information. He has got to get through to shareholders as is evidenced by the selloff. No shares available to short a week ago and a million plus on the news?
Wasn't looking for a rocket ride but steady pps appreciation. The more our story gets out there and the longer we sit under $5 the more risk there is to being taken out on the cheap. Hate to think management can't come up with decent PR's etc to help support the shareholders. Too long here to see this tech in the hands it is in. Sony is the key for me and that is why I am loaded.
As I stated before, I'll settle for a few good bunts. I believe that the big action will come when a smaller, brighter, more efficient offering comes out. I also believe that it will wait until the volume production can handle it. Looking to me like Sony is setting up to be the Home Depot of Sensors and projection and will capture most of the business. Just my trying to understand the future business for MVIS. Lots of action this past month and we still struggling to stay above $3.
