Just wondering -- do you think, when Coca Cola soft drink was first introduced to the world -- that KO thought it was all over for them when Pepsi started marketing a cola, only to be followed by all other soft drinks Dr. Pepper, A&W, 7UP, Sprite, Mountain Dew, Hires, Shasta, Canadian Club, Orange Crush, not to mention the generic/store brands.........?
Do you think KO was pounded by these kind of reports? Do you think they thought "wow, it's all over us"!! As I said, just wondering!!!
Are you serious? He may be a wealthy man, and maybe he has been successful in other investments -- having said that -- maybe he is good at gathering assets/money to manage, but that doesn't mean he has been so good at managing it! Have you forgotten Bernie Madoff so soon?!!
On GMCR - Einhorn reminds of a guy who just can't admit he is/was wrong! And that stubbornness didn't let him - 1. take a sizeable profit and cover his shorts when the stock was under 20 - 2. CUT his lose when the stock started moving up - 3. then road out and stayed with a wrong position - and - 4. when he tried to run the same old play again (which, by the way, was investigated and addressed several years ago, resulted in GMCR making a .-05 a share adjustment in a quarterly earnings report) continued to SHORT more and couldn't or wouldn't even take some profit then!!
He may be a wealthy guy, but on GMCR he certainly isn't making anyone else wealthy!!!! AND, in fact following him on this could make you broke!
To add to your comment -- what I didn't add in my first reply as it would be irrelevant to Ferrari,,, - is that there is a mesh cup that fits in every Keurig brewer that you can put WHATEVER coffee, how LITTLE or MORE coffee you want in it to brew!! And, yes, even his beloved Starbucks!!
Thank you for that totally worthless opinion/commentary. I hope you are a paid poster for Einhorn - h--l maybe you are Einhorn!!!
If you are that unhappy, put your Keurig on EBay and move on.
Just take into account (for those of you not familiar with how stop orders work) if you put in a stop order, say at 61, and the market opens down, say at 59 or whatever below your order at 61 - you will get executed at that lower price -- not 61 -- UNLESS you set a stop limit order, in which case the 61 makes it a market order, but the limit price makes it have to go back up to 61 to get executed.
Amazing, isn't it?!! Actually 2.75 billion -- kinda drains down that 3.1 billion cash!!!
I went to the sec.gov page just to see what investigations were/are being conducted on Greenlight & Einhorn -- I must say there is some amazing stuff there!! There is a particular article from May 2009 that talks of the conclusion between the likes of Greenlight/Cramer/Greenberg etc. -- just type in the search investigations of Greenlight Capital for those of who you might be interested - you decide for yourself.
My focus isn't clouded by the bad reporting at all little weedhopper!
Really - brands are the issue? So the partnerships with SBUX (OF WHICH SBUX coffee drinkers are very loyal), Dunkin Donuts (who some feel brew some the best coffee) Eight O Clock (which happens to be one of my personal favorites since my father managed A&P stores for 25 years when I was growing up and that was one of their store brands), Newman's Own, Wolfgang Puck etc,are now just poof - out the window because....ta da....the roll of thunder - WFM HAS ENTERED THE BUILDING!!! And, are we forgetting that GMCR provides KCups for/under other brand suppliers i.e. Costco etc.?
But do feel free to teach me other "intersections" that seemed too tedious to bother with - I am always open to learning new things ---- I LOVE TO LEARN. Just one other question - if you are not long or short here --- just WHY ARE YOU HERE? Just like to go on boards and pontificate?
Well, first of all -- that's $8.99 for 12 KCups -- WHICH is $17.98 for 24. GMCR sells 24 KCups for $16.49 --- OUCH OUCH, Stores must love you when you shop there.
guess if you like WFMs coffee then you will be happy about that! I personally don't care for the generic house brand of coffees, but that's me. Interesting in that article the GMCR puts out a 24 pack for $16.49 -- the WFM 12 pack is $8.99 - $17.98 for 24 -- I'll take the GMCR!! AND (not knowing anybody else's area they live in) I have been able to buy a 24 variety pack of GMCR for $13.99 in one of the Christmas Tree Shop store.
