I am considering buying CHK.
A friend of mine bought this at $9. What is Ichan's average buy price and how much has he invested?
I thought he bought around an average of $9 and invested about $900 million. Correct?
Has he sold any.
When a company's debt shares at 50 cents to 60 cents, it becomes a bad/risky buy.
CHK's debt is selling at 40 cents? This screams bankruptcy.
How ever, I am of the opinion/belief that Carl Ichan is not going to walk away with a loss of $900 million.
I realize that no one, including him, predicted the drop of oil price.
How much of CHK business is oil vs Gas?
Has ichan sold any of his shares?
Are there any recent videos or comments of ichan on chk?
Just trying to gather information.. Some times, even on these boards, there are some very well knowledged people on a stock. I am hoping to hear from one of them.
I would request that we keep this discussion, purely about coal and not the merits or demerits of Hillary or Trump.
I am assuming that, IF Mr. Trump wins, he would relax EPA regulations on Coal.
Depending on how the political situation looks in about August, I would like to consider investing in coal companies. I might get the biggest return, based on Political outcome. If Democrats win, Coal is probably a bad investment. I don't know who would win and don't wish to debate politics.
My question is: If Mr Trump wins, would coal prices go up? If so, by what percentage.
I am guessing that natural gas prices would not go up, no matter who wins. - or is this assumption incorrect?
How would coal be affected, if natural gas prices remain constant?
I am not trying to create arguments.. Just trying to get opinions of people, hopefully more informed than myself.
Obama had, openly, declared war on coal.
I assumed that it was partly or mainly the reason for coal's decline - since USA is the worlds major economy.
Natural gas price decline also cause power companies to switch over but coal went from 40% to 35%. Not sure if that 5% decline of usage by us power companies caused coal's decline.
I am of the opinion that when a US president delcares war on coal, coal would suffer. If that war is rescinded - by eliminating all the obama epa coal regulations, would that help coal in USA?
I think India does not have much effect on coal prices. They are still in power defecit and have to continue to build power plants.
I would assume China would and i don't know to what extent.
