    If you're referring to the constant slope for the CO2 concentration rate of change, the number (1.7 ppmv/yr) was conservative.

    If we look at the concentration change since the industrial revolution say 1850 at 280 ppmv to present 2015 at 400 ppmv then the number could have been, 120/165 = 0.73 ppmv/yr.

    But let's fit the data from 1850 to the present to an exponential function-

    @ x = 1850 -1850 = 0, y = 280 - 280 = 0

    @ x = 1925 - 1850 = 75, y = 300 - 280 = 20

    @ x = 2015 - 1850 = 165, y = 400- 280 = 120

    20 = c75^n

    120 = c165^n

    Ln 20 = Ln c + n Ln 75

    Ln 120 = Ln c + n Ln 165

    Ln 120 - Ln 20 = n (Ln 165 - Ln 75)

    n = (Ln 120 - Ln 20) / ( Ln 165 - Ln 75) = 2.27

    c = 20 / 75^2.27 = 0.0011

    So the general equation is;

    y = 0.0011 x^2.27 + 280

    The slope of this equation at x = 165 is;

    dy/dx = 0.0011 x 2.27 x^1.27 =

    0.0025 (165) x ^1.27 = 1.65 ppmv/yr

    Slightly less than the 1.7 ppmv/yr I assumed.

    So let's see how long i would take for CO2 concentrations to reach 800 ppmv.

    y = 0.0011 (x)^2.27 + 280 = 800 ppmv.

    x = ((800 -280) / 0.0011)^ 1/2.27 = 316 yrs from 1850.

    Or by 2166. Or 2166 -2015 = 151 years from today.

    So in 151 years, CO2 concentrations could double (to 800 ppmv) and the average global temperature could be up 1.3 deg C.

    Let's see how long the next doubling (to 1600 ppmv) would take;

    x= ((1600 - 280) / 0.0011) ^ 1/2.27 = 476 yrs from 1850.

    Or by 2326. Or 2326 - 2015 = 311 yrs from today

    Or 311 - 151 = 160 yrs after the first doubling where the ave global temp might be up another 1.3 deg C.

    Can you forgive "Jihadi John"?

    As bonobo sees it, one US traitor in the hand is worth a six pack of jihadi johns in the bush.

    That GTMO swap alone should tell anyone who thinks bonobo isn't acting from the position of incompetence, he's transforming the US by calculation,.. that in reality bonobo is the most incompetent person on the planet, just one south pacific island flip above Hank Johnson, and that he couldn't calculate his way out of a wet radio shack calculator bag. Then there's the quagmire he created in Iraq.

    I responded once & yahoo saw fit to censor it, probably to avoid being claimed an accomplice when your washed brain explodes from hearing the facts.

    "Just out of curiosity what extreme cold weather...."

    Apparently your indoctrination's selective memory won't allow you to remember last winter when your messiah's failed welfare state based economy shrunk 3% because of extreme cold weather. That's never happened before. This winter is set to be colder yet.

    But I didn't come here to talk about the weather. I came here to talk about something totally different,... climate & whether it needs changing or whether it needs to remain completely static as all CO2 cult members believe it should.

    'I think you're having a hard time understanding "global" warming"

    If you look at the ave global temps since the industrial revolution you see that they've increased by a whopping 0.70 deg C. During that time, CO2 emissions have gone from 280 ppmv to about 400.

    The "climate change" cult likes to use the Arrhenius greenhouse gas law (AGL) (not to be confused with their Ananus redsphincter gas law).

    From it we can get the relationship -

    delta T = a Ln (CO22/CO21)

    From the above historical conditions we can calculate "a" (calibrating the equation for T & CO2) and then predict future temp changes vs CO2 changes.

    a = 0.7 / ( Ln (400/280) = 1.96

    On a doubling of CO2, temp change would be

    delta T = 1.96 x Ln(2) = ~1.3 deg C worst case.

    Let's see how long it would take the change the temp by 1.3 deg C, ie change CO2 concs from 400 to 800.

    Over the last 18 yrs, CO2 has gone from 370 to 400 ppmv.

    (400-370)/18 = 1.7 ppmv

    to go from 400 to 800 it would take-

    (800-400) / 1.7 = 240. 1/2 of this is 120 years.

    If the AGL is accurate and we did nothing, It would take 120 years for temps to go up a hardly noticeable 1.3 deg C.

    No need to destroy the economy and make things harder on the poor by attempting to stop the climate from changing. We'll be out of oil in about 100 years

  • where the tard journalists were grilling a Republican congressman about shutting down funding for homeland security in reaction to bonobo's executive order on amnesty. Their argument was - look, you're going to shut down the govt, hurt go workers who live paycheck to paycheck and in the end you're going to cave and give in anyway. Just fund the HS and let the courts decide. Unfortunately the rep congressman wasn't prepared enough to respond with something like, well making a few govt workers delay receiving their salary (you know even if the hey don't work they get paid, many with as history shows getting even OT they didn't earn) is a small price to pay compared to the number of workers in the private sector who will suffer in not only short term salaries, but long term job opportunity, lower wages, higher taxes,.... as a result of bonobo bringing in 10 or 20 million disease ridden uneducated unskilled citizens of the welfare state in waiting, because bonobo's socialist economic policies have failed to generate any real jobs. This is the risk govt workers take when they take a job in the govt doing very little for an unjustifiably higher salary than the equivalent job in the infinitly more productive private sector pays.

    I mean govt bureaucrats are so bold these days as to sit and watch pornon tax payer funded computers and time.

    Liberalism is a mental disease.

  • What else could be causing the extreme cold other than global warming?

    I mean everyone knows the shortcut of addition is subtraction.

    Here's the mathematical proof that global warming is hidden in global cooling.

    2+2 = 4 and 8 + (- 4) = 4.

    2+2 = 8-4

    2 - 8 = -4 - 2

    -6 = -6

    The argument is settled,.... liberalism is a mental disease.

    She did admit, upon the questioning of I believe it was a democrat no less, that the U3 numbers didn't reflect reality (and the reason they couldn't raise rates if they wanted to), that the height of the U6 numbers, more in tune with reality, were not good.

    Or was it the democrat who got her to admit that the labor participation rate is lower now than it was just after the financial collapse?

    In other words, she was probably nervous that she couldn't toe the tard party line - that everything was not just hunky dory as we were told in the state of the lie address.

    So the minutes will say the plan is to keep whistling past the graveyard.

    Citigroup Too Cheap To Pass Up

    Chitigroup currently offers the most compelling waste of money compared to the other big banks.

    C Holdings is still holding $100 billion in toxic assets.

    C can't afford to pay a decent dividend. It has to be able to pay for one time charges every other quarter. There were $3 billion + charges in Q2 and Q4.

    If global footprints, legal problems and C holdings winding down were a leg up on the other banks, who haven't had near the issues C has, C would already be up. Take out these things and best case earnings are $5.80/shr in 2016. With a PE of 10, that's a $58 stock price at best. If there re no other surprises. Over the last couple of years it's spent more time under $50 than over it.

    The fact that it has to "get approval" to do anything should tell anyone, it's a shady high risk, low reward use of money.

    JPM's projected '16 earnings are $6.40/shr or $64/shr and it pays a 2.70% dividend now. It doesn't need permission to buyback or pay dividends.

    Most C bag holders don't know why they own C so can't post except to complain that no one posts about C when there's plenty to discuss regarding the most incompetent America hating, islamonazi denying pretendident in U S history.

    Ask the board this -

    Did the US's purchase of $85 billion/mt of agency mortgage-backed securities help C's global banking? Last time I checked, the US was part of the globe.

    Back in 2013 Bernanke said that if inflation followed a 2% target rate and unemployment decreased to 6.5%, the Fed would likely start raising rates. According to der unfähigen führer, bonobo, the unemployment rate is 5.6%. Why hasn't the Fed started raising rates? Because bonobo's welfare economy is a straw house of cards. Europe's is a straw tent of cards.

    As goes the global economy so goes C.

    He was much too kind to themujahid in chief and his onejihadist war of incompetency on America.

  • bonobo is still the most incompetent pretendident in US history.

    Now if you Christians would just stop crusading, bonobo's religion of peace brethren would stop lopping off heads.

    When you're an international company, especially a bank, you could lose your axe if you don't hedge the currency.

    The yen was intentionally devalued to expand exports. It's about 25% lower against the dollar in the last 2 years.

    The euro is about 20% weaker against the dollar in the last year.

    And C stock is about 15% weaker against the dollar in the last 3 months.

    Your knowledge of my any one's investments is surprisingly less than your knowledge about C.

    I was you who stated repeatedly that C was going to $580 so you could break even. We al know, well except for you apparently, know that's an economical impossibility without C buying back about 90% of its outstanding shares.

    Yeah, but the reception that Seattle got in the position to make a dumb call was a fluke. Many games this year were sloppy like that this year.

    So no they didn't clean their clock. It was more of an concerted "deflation".

    Especially when down by 10, Patriots came back and scored 2 touchdowns. Limiting Seattle to a field goal in one of their 2nd half scores was critical.

  • Rogers was hurt when Seattle played GB. GB won by a bad call against Dallas. Dallas beat Seattle in Seattle.

    Seattle shouldn't even be in the super bowl.

    Patriots are going to clean their clock.
