"What's being said in a social media group: POSTER #1: Very good questions. Ebay's algorithm "hiding" of small sellers items seems to involve "rolling blackouts" in which one's items are only visible to a specific region or area of the country for brief periods of time, resulting in a "geographical clustering" of whatever sales you may get.
POSTER #2: I see long periods of time go between sales, then several will roll in at the same time. Then it stops again. Like they turn me on and off. I had long suspected exactly the things you are talking about, but never had any proof.
POSTER #3: My god am i glad i found this group! I can't tell you how many times over the past 3 years i've spent hours & hours on the phone with ebay reps explaining this what I called "cycle" of sales... 2 days nothing then clusters of sales... I'm now wishing I had paid attention to where the items sold to... I think from this point on I start charting every sale."
Many US based Ebay sellers are reporting a recent dramatic drop in sales. Many believe Ebay is imposing rolling blackouts to their Ebay stores. Store traffic is down, sales are erratic. Many sellers are reporting, the typical remedy of adding more listings is NOT working. Some say their sales slowdowns may be attributed to massive listings by import sellers who typically sell KNOCK OFF products. This massive influx of import listings, many duplicates under multiple Ebay ID, causes sellers of genuine products listings to be obscured.
The customer has not paid...even sent us an e-mail letting us know they were not going to pay, stating they clicked "buy-it-now" by mistake. it's been three weeks now...we have no FVF credit and we can't even ask for it....C'MON!!!!!
The customer asked us if he could return an item. We told him, no problem, just send the item back and he will receive a full refund including his original shipping. Well, apparently he wants us to pay his return shipping, even though our listing clearly states "BUYER PAYS RETURN SHIPPING", so now he opened a case? We offered a full refund according to Ebay's guarantee, apparently that doesn't matter, Ebay needs to review his claim for the return shipping? Why? Ebay shouldn't let the buyer open a case if we agreed to a full refund. WHAT IS THIS NONSENSE???? ...... and I suppose we will get a Defect for this too?
