YEP!....Last quarter's number were a direct result of stock buybacks, which apparently they are still doing. It's not a good sign when a company has to buy back their own stock to make their numbers. They are definitely in trouble. But they have a great opportunity to re-establish creditability with the sellers. It looks like they are trying something in that direction, but so far I 'm not seeing anything other the same old business busting policies. Bottom Line: Power sellers must be treated Special. You CAN NOT let a Zero Feedbacker steal merchandise from a 17 year veteran seller, using "NOT AS DESCRIBED" as a weapon....This a major problem. I will post our latest EBAY BUSINESS BUSTER situation later.
Another holiday season and another slowdown in our sales again. This happens every year at this time, Ten years ago it was completely opposite. Our sales were booming in the last three months of the year. It's like Ebay flipped OFF the switch to our Ebay store, This company is still playing business busting head games with the sellers, New CEO, or not.........IT'S THE SAME OLD NON-SENSE!!!!
You may have a legitimate NAD complaint, but in our experience the buyers are outright abusing Ebay's EASY return policy. Every time it;'s the same story "Not as described" or "Defective". When we get the item back, there is nothing wrong with it. The sellers are totally disgusted. For example, We have a buyer now filing a claim with paypal after 4 months. C'mon. there has to be a reasonable time limit to file a claim. Four months is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!!!!!........My advice, Don't buy anything on Ebay for more than $250....Lesson Learned!!!!!!
"Here are a few other reasons why your payments may be delayed:
- You have a Below Standard rating in your Seller Dashboard.
- You've started selling in a new category
- Your account shows unusual activity, such as a sudden increase of eBay Buyer Protection cases.
- You need to add tracking information to My eBay or to an eBay Buyer Protection case.
- You can see the status of your funds in My eBay and find out what you can do to get your funds more quickly by clicking the button at the bottom of this message.
Ebay did not mention the following reason -
- CUSTOMER ASKED WHERE HIS SHIPMENT WAS, NOT REALIZING IT WAS DELIVERED TO HIS FAMILY MEMBER 10 DAYS AGO, TWO DAYS AFTER HE ORDERED IT.
Feel free to add your experiences why your funds were held byy Ebay/ Paypal........by the way we have been selling on Ebay for 17 years with more than 500 THOUSDAND sales.
Now we have a new situation I don't recalll seeing before. This is probably due to the Ebay/Paypal split up. The customer's item was delivered TEN days ago to the customer's Third party address. The customer did not realize where he had the item shipped, so he opened a "Buyer Request" causing the funds to be held by Paypal. The customer realized his mistake and closed his case, however, Paypal still has the funds on hold instead of returning the funds immediately after the case was closed. Very likely there is a communication lag betwen the two companies, but regardless, this is just another libellous situation caused by Ebay's TOO EASY RETURN POLICY!!!!!!
We shouldn't need to take a screenshot. Ebay should make it just as easy to close a case as it is to open one. For example, If a customer attempts to open a case "Not received", when the provided tracking information shows the item delivered to their address, the request is denied. That's an easy bit of code to apply to their system. JUST DO IT.....Mr. Wenig
Most items coming from China which qualify for ePacket are Cheap Junk. We don't sell junk. If you don't sell junk you don't have to deal with that problem. The problem I pointed out is an Ebay problem and it applies to anything being sold, due to Ebay's TOO Easy Return policy with no controls for the seller. The seller should be able to automatically prove an item has been delivered and have any funds immediately released or Ebay should NOT place funds on hold when a powerseller with 17 years experience on Ebay is the seller. I can understand applying a hold to a new seller, but, what more do we have to do, as a very experienced Ebay seller, to prove it's not necessary to have funds placed on hold?
Our customer had no problem opening a buyer dispute on an item that was delivered ten days ago, but when they tried to close the dispute, they could not figure it out. They had go to the Buyer dispute details page. Three quarters down on the page in small blue letters mixed with other text it says "close your case". So obliviously EBay wants buyers to open cases but not close them, in an attempt to sabotage the sellers.
Customer purchased an item from us. It was delivered in two days. Now ten days later, the customer opened a buyer dispute, "Item not received". Funds for the item have been withdrawn from our Paypal account. Customer then realizes then item was shipped to his third party and received. Customer emails us stating he doesn't need the refund because the item was in fact delivered. That's great, but our money for the order is still on hold. This customer has made a mistake, but we the seller are being penalized by Ebay. Ebay created the system which caused this damaging situation to our business. This needs immediate reconcilement.
Here's how it works:
1- The customer can buy an item on Ebay
2- Use it for 30 days ( or more)
3- File a Buyer dispute claiming "Not as described/ defective"
4- Print out a PRE-PAID return shipping label.
5- Return item to seller for a full refund including original shipping cost
If you are a seller on Ebay you will want to avoid selling items that can be used and returned in this way. This would include: Sporting goods. Any kind of Tool, Electronic products, Clothing
Categories which would not be subject to this Ebay "Free Rental Service" would be : Automotive, Collectibles, Replacement parts, coupons, Digital products.
More and more sellers are reporting this concept of FREE RENTAL ON EBAY. The concept is spreading over the Internet. Ebay is allowing a generous eight returns per account before commencing an investigation into buyer fraud. As more and more buyers are successful in the their efforts to DEFRAUD, the incidences of "FREE RENTAL ON EBAY" will increase.
Would you be willing to sell your items at an 8% discount and 0% seller fee, provided the buyer used an alternate checkout?
That's great, Can I have your Ebay ID, I would like to check out your products. I always want to support Ebay sellers whenever I can.
Ebay's new "Seller Standards" will require sellers to maintain a defect rate of NO HIGHER than 2 percent to receive "Top Rated Seller" status. A DEFECT RATE OF HIGHER THAN 2% WILL RESULT IN LIMITATIONS BEING PLACED ON THE SELLER'S ACCOUNT. This is just another policy designed to eliminate more people from Ebay. So EBAY has a new "CEO" but, the same old type of BUSINESS KILLING policies. The sole purpose of the "TSR" program is to control sellers NOT reward sellers !!!!
A friend who sells occasionally on Ebay just received an e-mail Ebay stating they are now limited to 40 listings per month? No specific reason was given to them by Ebay, but I told them it's probably because they're total sales compared to returns is not acceptable by Ebay. Recently they listed 90 items at auction , only 7 sold and there were 3 return requests. So now because of Ebay's easy return policy, this seller is now limited to 40 items per month. This friend currently has a few thousand items to sell, and expects to receive more items from a charity they are helping to run. The New CEO, just said a few of months ago “EBay is at its best when we enable small and medium-sized brands and merchants to present unique inventory to shoppers who love to shop.” Well, this friend had plenty of unique inventory and now Ebay has limited her to 40 listings per month..........NOT COOL AT ALL!
Amen to what you said....How are we supposed to do business this way? C'mon ... The joke is we do far more buying on Ebay then this joker who Ebay is letting screw us......and this particular item we bought from an Ebay seller, so do we send it back to them "NOT AS DESCRIBED"?.....So we lose a sale and shipping fees , and another Ebay seller loses a sale and shipping fees too.......This is just plain stupid!.....The Post Office/UPS wins. that's about it.
The buyer had the item for a month before filing his claim "NOT AS DESCRIBED" Here's what Ebay did to us., READ EBAY'S EMAIL TO US BELOW: Note: The buyer is now on our block list.
"We're sorry there was a problem with this transaction. After reviewing the case, we made a final decision in the buyer's favor.
This case has been decided in the buyer's favor.
The buyer has been asked to return the item to you. Once tracking shows the item has been delivered to you, the buyer will be issued a full refund. Also, YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO PAY FOR SUCH SHIPPING AND WILL SEE THIS CHARGE ON YOUR INVOICE in accordance with our policies. These charges vary."
This week we have two unbelievably ridiculous complaint examples: First, there is the person who says their item is "Not as described" because "it's missing the white thingy". They don't know what's missing, but something is missing...We asked for an explanation. It appears the customer believes an additional item was supposed to be included, BUT THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS, however the listing clearly states, multiple times, WHAT IS INCLUDED AND WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED, WHAT IS THE "THINGY"??? but we haven't received a response yet. Second example is from a fellow who says the item he ordered is "Not as described" because "it does not work with the item he ordered" WHAT THE "BLEEP" DOES THAT MEAN ??????...C'MON!!!!...This is what happens when Ebay makes their "RESOLUTION" system Too easy for buyers to file complaints. If they can't accurately describe the problem, they should NOT BE ABLE TO FILE A COMPLAINT!!!!!!!!!!!
